This is a night cam footage which implies a low visibility situation. Not sure what he saw, but the fact that he had a cigarette in his mouth made him a very visible target. Looks to me like this guy cashed out all of his luck chips that night.

That’s the best lesson to be taken from this video. He probably wouldn’t have made it that far has the attacker to the right’s gun not jammed, but instead of panicking he made sure his weapon wasn’t jammed and made it to the ammunition. Lucky for sure, but still a lesson to be taken.
Just like jon has said, criminals most of the time basically are not going into the situation thinking they will have to use their gun, so your at an advantage and thats why even though the criminal had the drop he still lost.

I live in an isolated house in the middle of an almond farm. Besides the locks on my doors, I have the best alarm system possible: Two smart, brave dogs. I know from experience the difference between their barking because they hear a siren or other dogs barking, and their barking because they see strangers unexpectedly. So, I know, even if I'm dead asleep in my bedroom, they'll alert me to a possible home invasion and give me the time to grab my weapon. "Home carry" or walking around your own house with a gun in your pocket, IMO, is NOT peace of mind.
