It happened all the time when I was a kid. Used to have nightmares about it. When my mom would fall asleep watching TV, I would often wake up as they played the national anthem just before sign off, and I would run downstairs and turn off the TV, because the sound they played with the test pattern terrified me.
theres still some analog tv transmitters broadcasting in Canada. including high powered analog transmitters. I receive CJCH-TV-6 on 87.7 from 175 kilometers away.
That's because the Canadian government wasn't as greedy about selling off that 700mhz and 600mhz spectrum to the cell phone companies as the FCC was. They left analog low power to run alongside digital as they know the remote areas can't receive a digital signal reliably.
Did the FCC give any reason why they were selling their FrankenFM stations and low powered channels to cellphone companies and shutting down analog? It seems like such a weird and disrespectful move.

So the reason why this was done (from my research) is because these channels were not actually legally allowed to do this and were more-so just 'grandfathered in'. They didn't have the rights but could have easily gotten them by contacting the FCC and getting a license. So it's actually false that the "FCC is no longer allowing any station in the U.S. to broadcast on this frequency". They would very much allow it.
Atari Video Music. A music visualizer thats been around since 1977, making it the first commercially available music visualizer on the market. It is also heavily outdated.

SECAM-B/G (Western European TV frequency) VHF channel 4 (62.25 - 67.75 MHz) overlapped Russian OIRT FM BAND, 1 MHz higher than US channel 4 (61.25 - 65.75 MHz). Simmilar to Eurasian Cable TV 77 or European Cable TV S44. On PAL-D/K analog tv in China, VHF channel 5 uses 85.25 - 91.75 MHz (overlapped FM band, but only used for cable TV).
I made a mistake, analog TV in Tunisia was ended in 2016 and it's known as the terrestrial TV in here which transformed from analog to Digital using the french TNT system (smth like DVB and ATSC)

It is bitter sweet. also home phones are still a thing, they're just more expensive than having a mobile phone, even two of them.
I still see a use for home phones and newspapers, but good riddance to dialup internet.

Only analog TV stations were shut down. That FM station was operating below the FM band at the top end of analog TV channel 6 (82-88 MHz).
