    Hello, Ursa! I hope the program is finding you well : )
    I’m happy to see that it has made a positive impact on many people. Back then I had made it for myself, and thought it could help others. 4 years later, I’m working professionally and have had 3 hired gigs, 2 of them being long term. Background painting, concept work, and a short term contribution to a major AAA project.
    I can vouch that it works with enough effort. After the curriculum, it’s worth specializing and checking out what you’re paid options are at online schools. So many have popped up in the last 4 years, so there’s a wealth of options available that can fit anybody’s interests

      Hi Alex! Thank you so much for your message. I have been through a third of the curriculum and I am definitely happy to have started following it. Having the structure down was not only time saving, but it also made the path seem possible and I cannot thank you enough for that. I have received many comments of people saying they have started your curriculum or would like to do so, I can only imagine how many people you have inspired... Thank you! I wish you the very best and hope your art journey continues to inspire you and other people to grow!

    Hey Stef, thanks for making this video. I'm going to join in starting today, and will follow along with you. I'm excited for this! I've had the Solo Artist Curriculum for a while, but I'm going to give it a go and see where it takes me. Gonna check out your other videos now!

      @@ursamater That's so good to hear! I think one thing I've been concerned about is if I will see any improvement or not, but I guess it just takes practice and time! Looking at your figures I never would've guessed that this was the main curriculum you were using. I hope mine will be as good as yours when I start!

      @@JustBen1thank you again for your encouragement and kind words. For me, the curriculum has been great. I had always loved arts and drawing, but hadn't had the training and it does make a difference. It's time and focused practice and it pays off. Go for it!

    I came across this post/image of course a while back, idk when, and kinda started it but lost my flow. I also heard he updated it since and decided now to see if I could find the updated version and found this active channel on his course. I liked this course cause I've been messing around with DaB(Draw-a-Box) for years but once again flow issues/life.
    So I'm going to go through your videos and see if I can get my flow back :D Thanks in advance.

      Thank you very much for your message. We have probably been through something similar. I have started and stopped draw a box a few times and I had seen the solo artist curriculum more than a year before I decided to start it. I had tried to find examples of people who had been through the curriculum and I could not find much... I have found the video part of the process time consuming, but it has helped me with accountability. It makes a big difference to me when I get messages. It is hard to persist alone. I wish you the very best in your journey! Thank you agin for your support!

      Hi, Stef! Your channel is definitely a lovely place to see your progress in learning. Just subscribed. However, I'm an absolute beginner (know nothing and can't draw a cube right) and I found it hard to actually get started from where you were initially. I guess I need to finish my art fundamental courses or books first. And I hope I will get to that day to use the curriculum.

    • @ursamater
      @ursamater  8 месяцев назад +1

      Thank you so much for your kind words and for subscribing@@whitepaper4353! It makes sense to finish what you started before jumping into a new thing, and I hope you can soon start the curriculum. One thing I found really wonderful about the curriculum is that it clearly says: do not worry about perfecting everything to move on, learning is iterative. You don't need to perfect your fundamentals before you start the Solo Artist Curriculum's fundamentals... I wish you the best luck in your journey. Thank you for your support!

      Hi Miguel, thank you for your message! The curriculum is free and I believe it is worth checking it out! www.reddit.com/r/learnart/comments/dapk62/from_the_guy_who_made_the_most_comprehensive_list/. There is a new version of the curriculum that is not free, but I have bene following the free version and I think it's been very good.

    I checked out some of your recent videos and it’s amazing to see your progress from then to now! Did you have any prior art experience before starting your journey?

    • @ursamater
      @ursamater  2 месяца назад +1

      Thank you for your encouraging comment. Yes, I had some prior experience with drawing, painting and other forms of arts and crafts but I lacked proper training and fundaments, and the curriculum has really helped me by providing a solid structure so I could develop what I needed and leverage what I had already started to develop with other practices and it has shown how much more I have to learn and yet, how consistent practice can help me achieve it. I hope this helps.

      @@ursamater That’s very helpful. I’ve also taken some art classes in school but I never truly learned the fundamentals. I wanted to try this curriculum but it looked too daunting. I have a question, as you have followed this curriculum, should i do this? Or buy a art course from a respected source like "nma, svs" (the rest are very expensive) or as i am learning digitally fo it from marc brunet online art school.
    Or follow this one?
    Thanks

    • @ursamater
      @ursamater  2 месяца назад

      Hi. Thank you for writing. I think this curriculum is a good option and I certainly recommend it. I also think that the other resources you mentioned like nma, svs and Brunet's art school are also very good. With this curriculum I got to try some specific classes from nma, svs and Aaron Blaise because the curriculum has pointed me to try specific classes with them - I liked those options but I also liked learning from different people. In terms of budget, I did a lot with this curriculum for free and inexpensive resources here and there, but if you think you would prefer a one shop stop I think the other options you mentioned could offer you a good structure and a path for your journey, it will depend on what styles you are more drawn to, what budget you have and what you ultimately want to do. Also, this curriculum is mostly traditional in the beginning and I followed that path, but there are other people who have worked with this curriculum digitally and shared part of their progress here on youtube as well. As this is a self-taught program, you can make your own adjustments. Hope this helps.

    I am already using the Art school program from Marc brunet Should I move to this or what?

    • @ursamater
      @ursamater  3 месяца назад

      Hi! I don't think you should move to the Solo Artist Curriculum if you are already following Marc Brunet's curriculum, unless you are unhappy with it. I think having structure is very valuable, but the most important is to put the time and work on the fundamentals, you should have an excellent path with Brunet's curriculum.

    • @ursamater
      @ursamater  2 месяца назад

      Hi! When I started I just studied but as time went by, I added my own projects and I think it was important to me, both in terms of directing my progress to areas of my own interest and in terms of how I could detect improvement and weaknesses. There are some months when I get rather busy and then I just do the curriculum. I hope this helps and I wish you the best in your own experience with the curriculum.
