AWW the little tiger you drew was so adorable and the pot you received from Kristy was lovely too! We were Kristys Secret Santa so its fun seeing how everyone loops together haha :)
That pot seemed lazy to me. Everyone else I've watched in this series made things that they spent a lot of time on and thought about a lot. I guess Rice's thing is getting some art in quickly without thinking a lot about what you're making, but I was actually really disappointed in her contribution to this series. I would have been sad to get this pot after putting this much effort into making something special for another person.
I love the amount of thought you put into this piece to make it individual to Loz. I think you put way too much pressure on yourself, though. We love anything you create! 🖤
I freaking love the way you narrate your videos! This painting came out so cute. I especially loved the way you rendered all the fur. Always a delight to drop in on your channel and I cant wait to see whats next. This was such a fun experience!!
I loved seeing you create this cute little tiger baby! What a precious piece of art, I'm sure Loz will treasure it forever! 🥰 (I also love the color combo, it looks so satisfying!) To answer your question about touch ups: Yes, I re-mix the color every single time. I think it's my one and only magical party trick that I can re-mix colors pretty flawlessly. It's much harder with gouache than other mediums but even that one I can somewhat match nicely. I think it's because I NEVER remember to mix enough paint to I got a lot of experience with mixing 🤣
ah this is so CUTE 🥺 can we just take a moment to appreciate how gorgeous the background colour palette is, the lilac, pink and green go together perfectly 😍
This came out so adorable!! Great job!! 💖 And I understand the nerves too I'm always hard on myself but I'm esp nervous if making something for someone else. Oh n for the color matching I know what you mean. I use watercolor so I can just rewet mine but I fail to make enough sometimes n then that's a huge pain. For acrylic I know there's wet pallets that keep the paint wet for some time so maybe that could be an option? having jars of the wall n rug colors mixed up was a great idea. I really love the rug n the texture def comes through! And all the personal touches what a really sweet thoughtful gift. Again amazing job!!
If you want your paint to last longer, try a wet palette! They have a thin sponge at the bottom that you dampen, disposable palette paper to put on top, and then a lid. I've heard that paint can last from a few days to a week depending on how dry/humid your local weather is, but as long as you keep the sponge from drying out, the paint should stay wet. Most people say to add some more water every few days. Also, It's recommended to use distilled water to prevent the growth of bacteria or other microorganisms in the sponge or palette. Specifically, there's a bacteria that eats iron and forms a pinkish slime on anything sitting in still water for too long, like a dog's water bowl, the toilet bowl, or around drains. If you have hard water (water with high concentrations of minerals), then you probably already know what I'm talking about. If not, you might be able to get away with using tap water.
You did an incredible job on the baby tiger!! 🥰 It looks awesome, and the little Easter eggs were such sweet touches!! 🥰 Kristy's pink rainbow bowl is awesome!! 🌈
Your lil tiger is absolutely adorable (reminds me of Disney princess palace pets cartoon which were the baby versions too) and adding in the personal touch of loz's Disney princess paintings on the wall make it match to that style. The added texture is visible and makes the painting have more dimension (even with perspective) so its not just a flat color. Maybe the pancake squishy is like a squeaky toy or infused with catnip for the baby tiger. Babies can like soft squishy things too.
Rose, I used acrylics in college and we used baby food jars! I worked much larger back then and now working much smaller I found some little 1 ounce cups like they give you when you buy the paint by numbers kits! I got a set from Amazon but they are available at the dollar store and other places as well. $5.00 for a dozen is to expensive, but I was in a time crunch so learn from my mistake and shop around! I use watercolors and gouache and I just re-wet the paint on the palette and I am off and running again! With the smaller cups it gives you enough paint to mix more and you do not need to worry about matching a dry color that is ALWAYS different lighter or darker depending on the pigments and fillers etc. I widh you only the very best and I look forward to seeing more of your artworks as I am a new Subscriber!
11:21 I have several paint pallets I put them in gallon ziplock bags until I'm totally done before I wash them (put something like a cap or small cup on the pallet so the plastic doesn't Smoosh it and mix it )
I love that I watched these an found new artists to follow. I'm running out of my regular people's episodes... I think this is the most awesome secret you all kept. I love the community
The painting turned out AMAZING! I loved all the little details. You should be really proud of yourself!❤ I'm absolutely going to watch Loz's reaction next! To answer the paint mixing question: I am constantly re-mixing. And testing each batch out and just hoping for the best 😄 I think the reason people love Payne's grey is because of its blueish cool tone. I myself tend to shade using complementary colours. It really makes the painting pop!
Ohmygod! Your paint question is one I’ve been asking myself for a very long time. I don’t hear creators talking about mixing colors much or about cleaning and storing their supplies.
I've worked off of a palette a few times, very nervously. But usually I just have a million little pots of paint laying around. Then I'll just mix in more and alter the colors and keep using them until they go too chunky or dry up completely.
I love this collab. The secret Santa idea is just so cool. I love the painting you made. It’s very very cute and cuddly with all the things she likes. 💜💜💜
Hullo Rose, I saw your gift from a previous video from this collaboration! You are very talented and I enjoyed your artwork and seeing it come together was quite fun too!
This painting is so cute! And the blending is great. With paints, I have two approaches. One is to have an airtight container with separate wells that I mix the paints in. Otherwise, I don't fully blend the colours so that all the coats have varied shades. It is much easier to remix a colour that has variation within it, or that's what I tell myself. 😅
I also have payne's gray because everyone else talks about payne's gray. I have yet to use it though. lol New subscriber here! This was such a great collab you guys did! It's been so exciting getting to meet a bunch of new artists(to me at least). I really needed this. Looking forward to enjoying more of your content. Happy Holidays!
I watched a few of these already because I saw that you were involved as well. Yours is my fav so far! Look how great you did! You really are getting so great at art and creativity! Merry Christmas, Rose! 🎄 P.S. NOTHING about you is disgusting, Silly!
It is soooooooooo good :) Teal and Turquoise are fine if you ask me. They are in the same color family (and honestly I don't know the difference), just like the various pinks and purples are :) And yes I am online always. I am so bad. I pick up my phone in bed and have such horrible habits. It is so much fun watching your paint this, while i can see the finished piece on my wall. I am also one of the huge fans of Payne's grey and rave about it too. You made a great choice using it 😛 It use it instead of black, as its just a little nicer and prettier. I use it a lot actually. I can NEVER remix the same colour. I sometimes keep condiment containers with the leftover color, so I can use it again. Acrylic is the hardest as it dries darker and I normally have to repaint the hole freaking section to fix one small defect, once I have to make the color again and totally destroy all the good things I had in that section in the process 😂 Kristy's gift is so pretty. It is so different to her normal stuff too, so it seems like a really beautiful surprise :)
PS I can't believe you felt a little intimidated (is that the best word?) to do something for me, based on what I do/create, because I felt so incredibly intimated to do something for my Secret Santa recipient. I definitely have things that I have done, that I love and maybe some look good on camera, but I don't t think they are close to good enough to give to someone else. I have felt like the weakest link in our community for the longest time. I see what everyone else does and you're all so creative and amazing, and I am still not there yet, but I am getting there. That is why I spoke about Impostor Syndrome and realizing that I do have strengths too. I always focus only on the things I suck at and see others doing (like creating adorable creatures) and it is only now, I am starting to realize, what my own strengths are. You are one of the amazing ones that I completely love watching and admire. I would absolutely love to be able to do what you do and I am so grateful that you were my Secret Santa. I was so happy to find out it was you. ❤
I’m confused why you thought varnishing the painting would damage it. Have you had bad experiences in the past? Also I like spray varnish. It’s faster and you don’t have the friction of the brush going over the surface.
Yes, I've had a few mishaps before. But also speaking with an artist friend he said his varnish on his paintings has cracked before and he wasn't sure why. 😬
you okay? Been watching for your video all day. I look forward to it all weekend :) I’m sure you are okay. You are definitely allowed to post on days other than Sunday. But still wanted you to know I’m thinking about you!
I binged quite a bit of your videos a short while ago. So relaxing! 😉 You are hilarious. I love how you tackle almost anything and give it all you've got. 🥰 Fun fact: I'm a person who doesn't like the beach. It may be due to the fact that the only beach near me is gross. But...I also hate the sensory experience of sand. 🥲
AWW the little tiger you drew was so adorable and the pot you received from Kristy was lovely too! We were Kristys Secret Santa so its fun seeing how everyone loops together haha :)
Yes! I can't wait for her video.

I am TERRIBLE at mixing paint. I always end up with tons because I have to keep adjusting it.
ah this is so CUTE 🥺 can we just take a moment to appreciate how gorgeous the background colour palette is, the lilac, pink and green go together perfectly 😍
Right? She has good taste
Your tiger painting is so sweet! I love all the thought you put into it and all the personalized Easter eggs! ❤ And the pot you got is beautiful!!

Was coming here to recommend a stay-wet palette as well!
Ooh, great info! I learned the hard way about using hard water to bring my saved paints back to life and they got pretty disgusting. 🤢

Do you ever practice breathing techniques for relaxation? It’s changed my life Rose. I hope you are proud of yourself :)

Weird. I know RUclips just introduced Auto-dubbing, but I have no idea how they decide when to use it.
