I think the reason these kids don't get scared or make it look as if they are not scared is cause they know the inmates won't actually hurt them physically with all the guards and cameras filming this show.
This exactly. At most, all they can do is yell. They're not in any real danger, and they know this. Their time in the prison is only temporary too. It's not like they're serving year sentences, they're only in there for a couple of hours lol.

Nah most of them turned around, a few didn't. The sad part is that there were a handful that tried to do better but the people in their environment pulled that back into it. This show been around since the 70s.

I never realized how insane this show was when I was watching it back in the day. My parents would just laugh it off but it's wild that they're doing all this to kids. They scream and yell at their parents, endure verbal abuse at home and the producers of this show thought that doing more of that was gonna be a good thing for them? Insanity

my mom used this as a learning tool for me, told my ass if i didnt stop acting like a punk or stop being disrespectful, she'd send me there. they had one in my own state.
The sad part is that most of these kids are probably beat and abused at home, they live in poor conditions which causes them to act out. The parents probably don't believe in mental health or see a problem with their conditions and act like their kids are the problem. They send their kids off with a holier than thou attitude not recognizing the problems within.
Then this program would make some of these children hold on even tighter to this identity they have.. Gives them a sense of security, safety and a feel of control over their lives. It's honestly sad.
I doubt any of these mfs are “abused” physically, I’ve been to many different psych wards multiple times, the kids abused would never DARE do anything these kids have done.
They could be yelled at and stuff but it’s definitely not physical abuse, if anything it’s a lack of discipline. Or the children have mental illnesses.

I was thinking the same thing. If my kid likes to fight. I would sign him up to boxer class. Probably help get that frustration out.

Ehhhh they still need discipline to be a good fighter, I had a lot of good friends who wanted to be a mma fighter or boxer but just not disciplined and zero work ethic to even continue/ pursue it.

In stead of showing these kids love, getting therapists or allowing the kids to express themselves freely without being made to feel like they’re what’s wrong with society they just scream and try to scare them. For a child to get to get to this kind of anger imagine how broken their hearts must be, that they build walls around them. Come on man!
NOOOO NO NO NO ABSOLUTELY NOT‼️ There is no way these kids aren’t mentally ill and if it’s not that, then most of them just have behavioral issues, it’s not “ohh these poor babies aren’t given love🥺” nooo!!!! They just have behavioral issues, what they need is to be placed in therapy, go to a special school or be put in programs inside of school. So they are taught to learn to improve their behavior and are given the support they need, I also think dcf/cps should be involved to give them those resources and supervise their case and a bonus too for them to investigate if their parents are the issue.

Honestly am 15 and am not involved in drugs, smoking or gangs, the worst thing I've done is delaying washing the dishes. But if this ever happened to me, I would hate, HATE my parents, along with the law and everybody involved, including society overall, putting me on a show and insulting me to become other peoples entertainment, this type of humiliation would lead me to become even worse, idk what those parents were thinking putting their kids there but I doubt their kids got any better if not worse, they definitely cut off everything they got with their parents.
I love how these convicts are acting all hard when their in jail and not actual prison. Those two places definitely aren't equal.

i rmr my mom put me through a military program cause i was like these kids & i was just like them, i ended up just getting kicked out cause they just didn’t phase me. but you really gotta understand there’s a reason why these kids act like that, screaming in their face isn’t gonna get them anything, sit down & try to understand them. shi i was 15 when i was in the program & i came out worst, til i started going to counseling & decided to turn my life around.

🤔🤚the quiet or smiling ones most probably have a mental health disorder; because some of the symptoms to some of the mental health disorders are ‘a lack of fear or care’.
If these kids came from homes where drugs & or alcohol are used; then they could’ve inherited the mental condition; which left undiagnosed will only get worse.
The kids need checking for mental health issues and then the parents/guardians are to be trained in how to actually care for their child better.
Plus; racism does play apart in why so many Blacks are incarcerated ‘over there’, it began for us with the slave trade.
