buddhist priests have been and are extremely powerful politically in Sri Lanka. At least 85% of Sri Lankans are buddhists!
LOOK at what Sri Lanka has become - teetering at the brink of starvation and bankruptcy.
buddha was a nephilim giant and is worshiped as a god even though buddhism claims not to believe in any specific god. The buddhists in Sri Lanka (I grew up there) worship the hindu gods, that are nephilim/demons/hybrids. Politicians court voters by openly engaging in demon worship.
I went through all the religions in Sri Lanka. The ONLY Way to GOD and to change from within permanently (not just while you are meditatin and fall into the same distress right after you stop) is to give your life to The LORD JESUS CHRIST - not christianity as a religion or any church. Get BORN AGAIN of The Spirit of The LORD JESUS and you will know PERMANENT Peace within you, not a head reasoned, "trying to convince yourself" peace!
