    So did you choose 100 for extent of reaction because 100 mol of methane was fed to the reactor or the value is usually given in the question?

      Extent of reaction is calculated at 4:55 in the video using CH4. You know that you started with 100 moles of CH4 and it's stoichiometric coefficient is 1, and there is no CH4 left, so 100 - 1*(extent of reaction) = 0 so extent of reaction = 100.

    Please explain to me why you didn't calculate the moles of the product stream. Am confused because there are some instances where we include it(product stream) in the diagram and calculation as well.

      The moles of the product stream are calculated and written out at 5:54.
