First 3D film ,first 70 mm screen film , first pan indian language movie..all happened first in malayalam...like in 70s or 80s.. Now after ott everyone recognizing..
@@Somarajkn I respect that Malayalam cinema has achieved many pioneering milestones,But Hindi cinema also has its share of incredible firsts! For example The first Indian film ever (Raja Harishchandra) was Hindi. The first talkie (Alam Ara) was Hindi, The first Technicolor film (Aan) and even the first Indian Oscars entry (Mother India) were Hindi films. Every industry has its strengths. Instead of comparing, let’s celebrate what each has given to Indian cinema.
Hindi history was good for Indian cinema. Just only the golden age, the prime time. Then everything just fall apart. Doing remakes and remakes and remakes. Films becomes business and film making artistry was gone. For hindi people you will love your films so much. But if we look as a pure cinema there nothing in your list. Just being imitation of Hollywood and and remaking other indian good films again and again. Recently also one film from Hindi is a remake of malayalam movie called "Memories". What a shame. Every industry trying their best but Bollywood. So many directors trying to do good films from Bollywood, but they can't make it because of bollywooods bad film system, stardum, and their payment and the wrong audience.
@@Somarajkn I agree Bollywood has had its share of flaws, especially with its obsession with remakes and over-reliance on stardom. However this isn't limited to Hindi cinema- Other industries like Telugu and Tamil also face similar problems....... But it's not entirely fair to dismiss it as lacking originality or artistry. Bollywood has produced gems like Pyaasa, Sholay, Mughal-e-Azam, Anand, and even recent works like Article 15, Andhadhun, and Tumbbad. These films show that there are still filmmakers pushing boundaries..... As for remakes, they exist across all industries, not just Bollywood. Malayalam cinema has also remade Hindi films (Queen as Zam Zam, for example). Instead of generalizing, let’s focus on appreciating good cinema, regardless of language. Every industry has strengths and weaknesses, and Bollywood has its own legacy to celebrate.
@@Infinitboundaries This is a challenging period for Hindi cinema, and the obsession with remakes has hurt its image. But every industry goes through ups and downs. Even the Malayalam film industry, for all its brilliance, faces its own issues. For instance, reports of gender discrimination and unfair treatment of workers have come up recently..... No industry is perfect, but what matters is that talented filmmakers across India are still working hard to create meaningful cinema. Instead of putting one industry down, we should support and celebrate good work from everywhere! It's hard for us because Bollywood is the face of Indian cinema globally, and the expectations are immense. Balancing art and commerce is a tough challenge, but good cinema does exist if you look beyond the mainstream.
@akriti5580 there is a small correction. Every industry have down falls and issue. The down falls happend to every industry at the same time period. That is 2000 to 2010. That's the bad time period for every industry. Malayalam industry included. Gender discrimination and unfair treatment of worker is a total indian industries thing. Not just malayalam industry thing. This is what happened in every industry. Nobody willing to raise voice. But malayalam industries, women organization pointed out the issue. Pure film persons of Kerala filtering their own film industry from fake cinema people and patriarchal issues. We only did that. It's not a shame, that we have an issue. It's a shame that you guys are not aware of your industries that much and nobody raising any voice. No industry willing to point out their issues. We just did that. Because we need to filter the bad things from our industry. That's all. Don't think some random ladies raised an issue. Film people cleaning the film community. Just do some research before talking anything. Just understand what is "Hema comittee". Nobody made Bollywood cinema is the face of Indian cinema. It's a stereotype. Bollywood thinks they are the face of Indian cinema. No.bollywood spend more money for promotions and distributions world wide. Even it's a non hindi film. They tooked the rights to distribute world wide and they dubb other language films into hindi. Non Indians getting hindi movies or Hindi dubbed movies. It's an issue. Bollywood making others movies nothing by doing this kind of shits. Even now people have difficulties getting original language films. They are getting only Hindi dubbed of other indian good films. Only Hindi dubb means what. How bad and shame it is. Bollywood fabricating everything to their good. Also when someone from outside comes to India they first lands on north side like delhi and then mumbai. So foreigners also thinks ohk Bollywood is the only industry in India and hindi. Is the only language in India. It's a stereotype. Bollywood made. That stereotype. Hindi people made that stereotype for foreigners. Non of them tried to correct them. You only watch your films and and do remakes of non indian good film and destroys it . Our industry have lot of strong female actors. If you go back to history to till now. They were doing great. We do female oriented film. We have a lot of female characters oriented films. Not using just for romance or dance. They all have important roles. We are doing great. It's your time to raise your voice for hindi cinema. We point out the issue if it is Bollywood or malayalam. So that people correct the mistakes. That's how malayalam works. Our films are mostly like independent kinda films or indipendent+ commercial type films. Those films are our main stream cinema, which screens in theater. For Bollywood it's opposite. Only garbage plastic films screens in theater and good films releases in ott. That is a big issue, with bollywood and for Indian cinema. We are not into business. We want pure cinema. So we are creating a good atmosphere for our industry to do better for the love of cinema and art. that's it. We don't want Bollywood to be the face. All we need is good contribution for Indian cinema from every industry. We don't want garbage industry as the face of Indian cinema. Speak up hindi audience. Clean up your mess.
malayalam and bengali cinema have always been rich. they are the beacons of parallel cinema and thinking movies. bengali, hindi and malayalam have got the most national awards in feature films category, and given the small size of industry and audience, malayalam's achievements are most impressive.
laapata ladies was discussed here... the one thing i have noticed is that with the advent of OTT, the audience doesn't go to theatre to watch thinking movies. theatres today are majorly visited to watch glittering movies or to have VFX experience. intellectual movies will succeed only on OTT going forward... and producers are understanding it steadily as well.
