Do Crimson Flower last. It's easiest to recruit everyone you can, and you can avoid killing everyone except Rhea, Dimitri, and Dedue (who die peacefully together if Dedue doesn't become a beast). Everyone you recruit has at least one happy romantic pairing, too.
I hate it when people die, but it hurts more when I don't use the character that much. And it hurts even more when I learn about their death nearly almost a year later.
If you do the Hubert/Ferdinand A+ support before you do an Edelgard/Ferdinand A support, Ferdinand loves coffee all of a sudden. And Edelgard doesn't actually accept a proposal even in her A support with Ferdinand (or Hubert), so even if either of them get an A support with her, this can still be a canon pairing.

This is so beautiful... I just finished Blue Lions and I’m starting Golden Deer. After that I’ve decided to do Black Eagles and join Edelgard to see what happens. I don’t even know Ferdinand and Hubert well but from all the content I have seen it just warms my heart so damn much. I had recruited Dorothea and she was devastated when we killed her beloved Ferdie. He had to have been a sweet soul behind his “I AM FERDINAND VON AEGIR LEGITIMATE HEIR-“ facade. Hubert seems cold, I can’t help but imagine Ferdinand would be the person who warms his soul.

Bruh, on my Blue lions route I was able to recruit everyone but ferd from the black eagles. Which makes it hit 2x harder.
