The 2002 animation was part of demo reel made to pitch to investors, they actually switched to mo cap pretty early on and Kasanoff kept on saying « change this, change that » because he doesn’t understand how to make a animated film
Larry seriously should've just stuck with the squash-n-stretch technique used in the 2002's demo reel for the film- could've learned a thing or two about actual animation while he was at it even. Heck, my eyes were constantly gravitating towards said demo reel over the shitty looking 2012 mo-cap version right beside it that DID wind up coming out.
Watching these 2 versions back-to-back makes kinda sad. The 2002 animation had so much more love and care put into it when compared to the final version we got. The film's plot still wouldn't have been great regardless, but had they just stuck with the animation that was already completed instead of redoing it all with mo-cap (and redid all the human dex shots to use his dog design), the movie could've been a nice time capsule of 90s-early 2000s CG at the very least (kinda like Space Jam and how that was a time capsule of 1996).
I like the 2002 version better So did they already found The early footage of Foodfight Like all of them So they bring it back to Lawrence So the early footage of food fight They will be on the next video Of The lost media has found In may 2024 so they will help Lawrence Just finished and fixed everything of the 2002 Version of food fight on the hard drive And finally released in cinemas And after that they will erase the 2012 version from the existence so the 2002 version Of the animation looks better just like the 2002 trailer version
The film’s masters were kept in a secure place. Logs were kept of those who came in and left. Larry claimed the film was stolen to justify switching the animation to motion capture and extend the deadline. So it’s just down to a lack of foresight and general incompetence, while using the most convincing lie to get more time to implement what Larry believed to be the future of animation.

tbh i would't call it "early on" as it happened around 2005/2006, and before that they claimed the movie was fairly close to finishing so

the 10 years didnt do nothing but hurt it huh
Also larry not understanding animation and changing styles did not help.
I thought the movie was stolen
@finleythegemmyfan5659 No, that was a lie that Kasanoff made up as an excuse to start the movie over with mocap.
Is insane to think how easy would be to trick people that the 2012 version was a prototipe that got eventually polished on the 2002 version.
At the very least the plane texturing seems slightly better
Now imagine if the story about the movie being stolen was true, and you have to somehow still make it or the investors dump your body into the ocean.
Is a fact, nobody's stole the original version of this movie
Lawrence Kasanoff was the real robber this whole time
I'm curious if the removed shots are only missing because the movie was unfinished or because they decided to remove them
The 2002 ver was so much better. 😭😭😭
I like the 2002 version better
So did they already found
The early footage of Foodfight
Like all of them
So they bring it back to Lawrence
So the early footage of food fight
They will be on the next video
Of The lost media has found
In may 2024 so they will help Lawrence
Just finished and fixed everything of the 2002
Version of food fight on the hard drive
And finally released in cinemas
And after that they will erase the 2012 version
from the existence so the 2002 version
Of the animation looks better
just like the 2002 trailer version
I prefer the 2002 version
Keep in mind that this entire movie's files were stolen in an act of "industrial espionage."
That's why the version we got was such a downgrade.
They were never stolen.

@@Channeleven2345789 A lot more clarified, but where did you hear about this information?
Daredevil Dan might've had the worst downgrade in the 2012 version, I also prefer the night sky over the weird day sky.
I think it's meant to be a sunset but it looks so ugly, the city lights also just look better at night
