A real all-star lineup. When the very fine altoist Marty Erlich plays with Abrams, it doesn't fully register for me. When Roscoe Mitchell is there it completely works and feels definitive. The Experimental band goes back to the early 60s and was specifically placed in the Chicago Afro-USian community. This continued to define it, at least in Abrams' lifetime. A very true expression from a special community.

Wow! Terrific stuff. Although Abrams died recently his legacy will live on with the musical tradition and the AACM.
