I just started using this as FACEWASH!!!! It's amazing - Ph balanced naturally so it's great for sensitive skin/eczema, dermatitis & acne. I am currently working on fermenting soapberry liquid in brine to see if I can extend shelf life as well as add more benefits to the skin. It feels like you're washing your face with water, but rinse it off & feel/see the magic!!!! I swear my skin not only feels instantly calm & balanced but it also looks brighter & is super soft. Clean yet not tight...
Hello from Ohio to you in Ohio! I learned about your channel through Sara at Living Traditions! I've been watching her channel for a few years now. I will now be watching you as well! Blessings to you and yours! ❤
UPDATE: So I followed the standard guidelines for doing a brine ferment with my room-temperature liquid. My test jar was shoved to the back & forgotten for nearly 1year... I opened the jar & there was no mold growth, it smelled like its usual fruity smell with a slight vinegary scent. I washed my hands with it & it seemed fine. I then checked the pH- right at 5-5.5 !!! I washed my face with it & it was perfectly GOOD! So I can verify that a mild brine ferment will adequately preserve this liquid. I will keep my original test batch & will see just how long it actually keeps=)
I love all the tips you give along the way! I came for a soapnuts and canning tutorial, I stayed for the advice and the unique perspective you have as solutions for problems! You seem like a good person to be friends with when society collapses 😂 love the video so much, instant subscribe
WoW, such a wealth of information!! I've been liquifying soap nuts, freezing them in ice cube trays, then transferring them into a plastic container stored in my small freezer chest. It's getting tedious and inconvenient to use that way now. Shelf storage in liquid form would be ideal. My search landed here and certainly gained much more than I planned. I've been wanting to learn pressure canning but have been intimidated, this video has made me want to run out & buy one! Like you said, no losses, it's only soap! Thank you for posting. You have a very calm way of speaking and made it very pleasant to listen and learn from.
An alternative is; place 6 or more berries in a quart jar, add hot water and let sit for half-hour or full hour then you have liquid soap. It lasts for a week if not used. I use for laundry dishes so I just use some liquid soap then add more water this way it lasts for 3 weeks 🫶🌹
You need to get a weighted gauge for your pressure canner. It's s a huge deal. You don't have to watch the pressure any more. No more baby sitting the canner. They're only about $15 online. Jessica. I love learning from you. Thank you for sharing your experience with us.
I knew about using these for laundry, but I never knew about all the other uses. I live in Alaska, and most places the water is pretty hard, so laundry wasn’t an option. I would be interested in knowing if you also somehow make your own dish soap or what you use for that, since you don’t use the soap nuts 🙂
Cool beans! I'm trying to get my hands on some now along with a tree. I can't wait to get on land! Nature is amazing. Thank you so much for sharing. Blessings 🙏
Interesting! Thank you for sharing! I just wanted to come here and say I’ve been following you since before you had a RUclips channel. I don’t have Instagram anymore so I’m glad I can still catch up here. Anyways, I just found out that I’m expecting baby #3 and I’m terrified! When baby comes my kids will be almost 4 and almost 2. I’ve struggled so much this past year with depression and it’s really robbed the joy of motherhood for me. Watching your videos really inspires me to be a better mother and to cherish the time I have with them. We long to be homesteaders and homeschoolers. I ask if you could please pray for me. I so wish I had a friend like you nearby.
l just started using these about 2 months ago, and all l can say is where have these been all my married life, lol.. l love them my clothes are cleaner and with no after smell. that drives me nuts. l just bought a kilo bag of these, l think they will last me a good year or so. So glad l found these, and gave them a try,
Fabulous! Thank you! I bought soap nuts as a curiosity a year or so ago. Haven't used them yet. Will be making the canned liquid. What a great idea! And had no idea there were so many uses!
Yes also consider a vitamin B complex supplement that is taken in smaller amounts a couple times a day because it comes right out after a drink of water if you know what I mean. The B-2 is very unattractive to mosquitoes but your vitamin B's must be taken in level amount so no just taking one at a time. Always take them in a b complex that has been measured. Also look into vegetable sources that contain vitamin B Because food always is best. I have never eaten animal products then I take a B-Complex supplement 3 times a day everyone was being eaten but me period between being really healthy. And the smell of the vitamins they kept very clear of me always! Because they're water-soluble they're just going to come out anyway but they leave a smell on the skin that bugs definitely notice. I hear even fleas bed bugs whatever the biting bug Maybe. Find a high-quality one made of food if you can if not just go for the best you can get and break it into thirds. That's what I forgot to say buy a high dose pill. Then break it up because it's much cheaper then buying small amounts
Amazing video!!! I had no clue you could can these!!! I have several pounds!!! And , I had no clue about the garden and fruit! That is amazing!!!! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!!! You have a new subscriber with me!!! 💕
Pressure canning is awesome! I'm so glad I learned to use them. I know have 2 that I run on big canning days! This is a great way to try out pressure canning.
Very cool by using it as a base and adding to it is great. Maybe add borax and washing soda for laudry detergent. Also the yeast idea with the yeast culture as i had said with the olive oil. Natural items are so much better especially for babies and children.
What a great video. I did not expect this to be so thorough. I will definitely watch this again so I can find all the ways to use the pods that I brought.
I just found your channel the other day and I love it! This is fantastic- I have a big bag of soap nuts I don’t I’ve for laundry anymore so I love the idea of using them for other things - would never have occurred to me! Thank you!
Just found your channel. We have Soapnut trees; but our's looks different. My husband read that it is really toxic. Glad I found your channel! May Jesus continue to bless you and your family
This is so cool! I’ve never heard of soap berries but totally want to try them out now! Can I get a little clarification though concerning how you use the soap for kids baths? You fill the spray bottle just with what you need per bath and keep the rest of the jar in the fridge? No storing in the bathroom? Thanks for the fun informative video!
Great video! I learn about the soap berries when I was telling a friend about a fruit very common in Brazil called "jabuticaba", also known as "Brazilian grape tree". They look similar in appearance only, but they're not the same fruit. 👍
Thank you so much for sharing!!! Love this! You are an amazing woman! I really hope to meet you someday! Our families just have so much in common! We are also in Ohio. We have 6 children and 1 on the way. Love watching your videos and so does my 8yr old daughter. She just loves watching your children
I greatly enjoyed this video. I've never heard of soap nuts before. I love your videos because you're so informative and I always learn something new! You should really consider writing a book if you haven't thought about it before! Thanks again for such great information!
Oh my gosh!! I have never knew about these nuts. I had to try this!! I have been making my own laundry soap from another site but this looks so much easier. Thank you for all the guidance thru all your videos. Also your family is adorable!
Lids are very hard to come by ,, then you have some ppl that will buy everything on the stores shelves and not leave any for anyone else 🤔🤔. Just the other day a lady had at the least 20 boxes . Just glad I was all stocked up way before this pandemic. Thank you our lord 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Fantastic subject!! Thank u so much for sharing this. I got some soap nuts years ago & just never used them. Think I can wash my little lap dogs with this as dogs tent to get them East also. Going to do this asap. Thank you so much
I was really interested in this video loved reading the comments also. Never heard of soap nuts. I live in a very hard water area in the UK and use soda crystals to soften the water especially in my washing machine and use less washing detergent as result. I don't know if this will be beneficial to you and other subscribers.
Would love a video on where you find your clothing or if you make it. I know it's not your typical type of video but I'd be interested to see how you keep clothing frugal! Plus I love that shirt/dress you're wearing!
Great video. One question. After you strain the liquid to another jar can the soap nuts be used again. I am assuming that they could be used 3 times. Now that would be efficient. Thanks so much. I am 70 and you continue to teach this old dog lots of new tricks. Lol. Blessings.
I have seen soap nuts but never tried, them now that I know they have so many uses AND can be preserved for long term I may try them. Thank you for making the video and providing all the information.

You can use soap nuts for a ton of stuff in the garden for spray to make the water “wetter” slows the flow down so the soil gets watered more thoroughly as a foliage spray bug repellents shampoo and more
Excellent information! I will be canning up some soap nuts to add to my homemade soaps and cleaners. I have some, I've just not tried to use them anywhere yet. Now...where and how to get myself a soap nut tree! ;-)
I also reuse my canning lids when I am canning jars of water for use when we lose power. I only can the water as a "placeholder" in my canner do when I don't have enough jars of food to fill the canner.
Have you tried using washing soda in your laundry to soften your water? My Mum used to use it years ago when we lived in an area with hard water. She said it worked well. 🙂
I got some in my eyes in the shower today and it stings like crazy! Also some went in my mouth and it's more bitter than quinine so it wouldn't be good to make toothpaste with. Not everyone has bitter taste receptors so maybe for them it's ok. All the other uses are great though :)
You can find little cloth zipper bags. You can still put a safety pin at the end of the zipper to keep it from unzipping. Or you can make your own bag with your own zipper. Plastic of course.

I take about a 1/4c of the soapnut liquid and whisk ot or blend it to add air. Which makes it frothy just before washing so I can have a nice suds.

11:48 I’m surprised no one has recommended a foaming soap dispenser. You could also use a hand blender to turn the liquid into a thick cream.

Were did you learn to pressure can soap nuts I think k its wonderful I will try this
Thank you for the info! Do you know if this is safe to use with HE washers? Also, what brand of pressure canner do you have?
Yes. They are low sudsing. Homemade laundry soap can be extremely stripping on the bearings.
I just read that the soap nuts in bag can go into dryer. Natural anti static. Dries the nuts for next use.
How long will this liquid last before going bad since it was pressure canned?
Can you mix vinegar with your soap liquid for dishes?
Or baking soda?
