We don't have many grasshopper problems in Miami liie at all prob with pumpkins and squash they take sooo much space lol I currently have some calebaza sqaush with some giants on them Anyways good luck 👍
@@mrsuarez430 I wonder what keeps the grasshopper population at bay there. Maybe y'all have lots of birds to eat them up! 😁 I've never heard of calabaza squash before so I just googled it! 😆 Looks like a squash to me! 🤣 Does it taste like acorn or butternut squashes at all? Thanks! And good luck to you as well!!
I've never seen a plant get all it's leaves eaten like that before! Kinda crazy. The grasshopper population never gets that high around here, so that's probably why
@@Ben_of_Milam_Music I don't think I have seen it happen either. My 85-year-old neighbor told me to look at her rhubarb and I was shocked because all that was left were the stems! And I was happy that mine was still mostly intact. But then... I found out how foolish I was to think they wouldn't keep attacking all summer. 🤣 Last year the flies were crazy insane. This year it's the locust!
@@camus83489 I have heard of using a net for cabbage plants to prevent from getting all the little larva in them but I never thought about using it to protect against grasshoppers! What a novel idea! I just think it would possibly be a pain to constantly move it in order to pick the produce. And I wonder how costly it would be to get one to cover my entire garden? I'll have to look into that.
