To this day I still use the clip method to stagger clap wire. That is genius. It takes most of the headache out of SFC/SSFC builds. I just wanted to say thank you.
Great video sir, thanks for the time and effort to share this. One criticism though, people who sit through 15 min of coil build want to see the coil attached to an addy then heated/glowed, then wicked, juiced, and vaped! Include that next time :)
I came across your video while searching for easy methods to build exotic coils and what i saw in your video amazes me. I don't know if the word THANK YOU is enough!
Great video. These coils are some of my favorites. I really like 4x28&38ga. The way I do it is to have one of the cores hooked up to swivels. The rest are loose but I use cut up prices of juice box straws to keep them grouped. Two little pieces is all I use for about 10 to 12 inches. I stop and flatten often at first. Towards half way I can go for 20 to 30 revolutions before pinching them flat. For this build, consistent spacing is critical. If one of the cores is spaced wider than the rest is causes problems. Like Jewbster said, he checks them with a macro lens. I use a magnifying glass. If you don't have perfect spacing between all your cores, your wires will give you trouble.
Dude - your tip with the clip is insane - I tried several methods for spacing the wire correctly and i just completed my first perfect spaced clapton. Thank you so much!
This Jewbster fella belongs up there among the great names in coil building.... really liked the detailed explanation, strategically placed macro shots and overall continuity of the vid.... a stellar production! ***** (5 stars)
I Am Lam Hey dude thanks for all the comments! They are greatly appreciated and I'm glad you enjoyed the video so much! Yeah these Multicore staggered Fused builds are tougher once you get into the higher cores. I always fuse off the spool for all my coils. All except for tsuka coils and aliens of course.
K, I realize I'm late to the party, but nevertheless: Thank you! I've watched dozens of vids on this topic but yours is the one that clicked for me. Actually, "clipped" may be the key word in this case. Other techniques didn't inspire me to create a working tool, but your explanation of the indentation left in the blue tape by the temporary 2nd piece of wire totally made sense. I found a clip that is nice and wide, with v-shaped teeth spanning the width of its mouth. I carved out a narrow groove perpendicular to the v-shaped grooves, down the center and out thru the end you squeeze. I wound my wrap wire onto a sewing machine bobbin and tucked it in between the finger tabs, so it just feeds straight into the center of the device and winds tightly (and perfectly) onto the core wire. Works on any gage core and any gage wrap. I'm stoked! Thanks again!
Why so shy? So many people look at you and you do your build very well! You don't have to be shy. Be proud! That was a great Video and one of the best Tutorials I ever seen on YT. Regards from Germany
this video really shows the serious attention to detail that you need to have to make these coils, the closeups and angles really gave me insight on what coil builds are like. i still haven't made a clapton coil yet, i've only made standard wrapped coils, but eventually when i buy more coil online and find some tools, i'll be doing this. btw, this is definitely one of the most underrated videos on coil builds, this is more on the raw end of the spectrum versus all of those channels that skip past important details. this kind of stuff would make a sick tv channel lol
Great video. I wish everyone would make them like this. A lot of videos don't show the build close enough so you can't really see what their doing. Also really slick coil wrap technique. I always put a 90 and put it in slot but first wrap isn't tight to the rest of coil. Really good job, thanks for the video
Thanks for giving me confidence in doing the grip-and-rip on my tricores. They were taking forever, but I tried your way and it turned out pretty good. More practice, better coils.
Literally am able to vape something different now because of the contraptions this guy built to make the coils I like the clip and also the straw..now I just need to find some swivels and I'll get started...
Holy crap that spacing technique is next level, i just use a little bit of wire inbetween the wraps with a little weight hanging on it, which sometimes results in uneven spacing near the end of the wire.
im a builder of coils and i learnt something from this video about then the clapton wraps over lap and you reverse the drill about running your nail over the clapton wire to straighten it. you have a sub from me
Crazy beginner here was thinking of this yesterday saw the video today not as hard as I tough but yet to be done good that I saw this video suggested today
Fantaaaaastic video man. Right to the point, well edited, and jam packed full of useful information. Wonderful method. And that small tip about running your nail up the wire after you back off.... Amazing. So simple but I never thought to try it. Shit works like crazy, and I NEEDED that, I do it constantly. Haha. Thanks for putting this out there. Much appreciated.
Awesome video bud, not only very informative but straight to the point! I'm just starting out in building my own coils and this video is a great teaching aid. Keep up the good work. I have subscribed and look forward to more videos
I really enjoyed this build but I was kinda hoping for a glowing test and wicking at the end with a little vape cloud action lol. All in all a great learning experience. Thank you
Bruh. Yer a fuckin' wizard. Been watching coil tutorials all day, and I'm fuckin' done... All these dudes using guides and jigs to help make more consistent claptons. It's sorcery.
Great tutorial bud!! Hope you do some more videos soon! It does really help people learn new things. Wish they had them when i first started building lol
thx a lot for the video, its really helpfull! nice idea about using the straw for fusing the straw for fusing the core wire.. i've tried fusing it with a swivel, and takes a long time for building it😫
Kennardi Dewanto I just know that the swivels keep the staggered cores from moving. I'm glad to help and I hope you end up getting through some awesome sfc's!
@@JewbsterBuilds you got it... id help any way I can, if you ever decide to do a live or whatever! and, yep; thats a lotta builders nemesis, old man "Time" ....

Great video, but would have lime to see it preform, and see at what ohm it came out to be. Great looking coil, and a good alternative to rip on wire, which you commonly see.
Cool vid bro. It's awesome to see the plethora of methods out there because even seasoned builders can still learn a new trick. I have to say I haven't seen that straw method for stabilizing the ends while fusing. I have always used a rig with an old pen sleeve connected to a 3rd-arm, but your methods seems way more stable. I'm definitely gonna try that. Cheers bud👍
I know this is a pretty old video but I use a swivel setup myself but just rigged up some I had in my tackle box and want a better quality setup for better coil builds. If you get this message, could you tell me the best way to connect these swivels together.... I was thinking of some small carabiners or maybe some strong key chain rings but I don't want to hinder the smooth swivel action. It looks like you just used wrapped coil wire to connect yours but i couldn't get a good look in the video.
Hey joseph! I still use this account luckily. So yes, I still use the same swivel setup from way back when. It's just a piece of 24 guage or maybe 26 gauge wire to connect them. I loop it around each end and then twist the wires together evenly so my twist is in the center position while they're spinning. You can adjust this by putting a piece of wire in your drill/flex shaft and the other end in the swivel and run your drill/flex shaft. Then you can see if the twisted wire spins centered. If not just manipulate the wire so it does. Hope that makes sense!! Let me know if. You have anymore questions.
After trying all the staggering methods several times this one has worked out the best for me 👍i actually do it the same way Justin does and works awesome. I'm working on pitchforks now and was wondering if you think this is ok for those as well? Thanks man great job btw and hope to see more soon!!
