OMG! I really love her teaching. Most of these RUclips videos teach that you must buy some product from a third party to do what they are teaching, which seem like they are really advertising a product instead of teaching; however, this chick teaches how and that you can do some of these crazy insane cool effects with just the tools in Davinci. It seem that her motive to teach is probably the most sincere and genuine on RUclips.
Ahha! This was the first motion graphic I learned on an After Effects - Video Co-Pilot tutorial way back (!) >> good to see a Davinci Fusion version as I am learning Fusion now so this is perfect thank you 👌💯🎥😎🌟
Thanks. Was perfect for my cartoon intro. Thanks for the details on creating a macro. Didn't realize you could mouse over the adjustments and see what they were named.
Thanks, not sure what exactly the transitions you're trying to achieve, you can simply overlay the effect on top of a transition, for example Oval Iris, and see if that works for you.
If you have downloaded the template, you can simply double click the .drfx file to start the installation, and once it's done, you will see this effect in the Effects panel/Generators in the edit page.
Thanks a lot for sharing your very impressive Resolve and Fusion knowledge 💪🙏 Again I've learned a lot of new techniques and innovative tricks by stepping through the creation process together with you. There is one Question left: How did you achieve the Lock Animation checkbox in the Macro? Thank you very much again and take care 👍
Thanks, I'm glad it was helpful! The Lock Animation is basically the "Stretch edges" parameter of the Keyframe Stretcher node. I don't think it's really necessary in this case as I'm reviewing this today😀 because we can easily change the clip duration in the timeline.
Hi, I know work is the best teacher for memorise lessons... However, what would be your advise, helping understanding of fusion principals... like : il you work in 3d, the 3d render node helps to switch in 2d and link to the mediaout... what would be your tips helping better understanding of node's "life"... some kind of mental "grouping by type", renders, etc... I don't know... Also calculations, looks simples in the beginning, but I saw videos with multiple "links" of a formula, up, down 🥴🥵😵💫😲... Is there some logic helping to understed faster what's happening !? Thank's having find time to answer... Have a nice day, have fun for New Year Celebrations. WISH YOU THE BEST !
@@etina17000 Thanks. The DaVinci Resolve Reference Manual has almost everything you need, and you can also find training material like videos, books on Blackmagic Design's DaVinci Resolve Training page. Like you said, practicing is always a good approach for learning new tools, you can access both from DR's help menu, enjoy!
Excellent! I learned a lot with this tutorial! Thanks a lot! 2 Questions: -using DavincI Resolve 18.1.4 is there a difference how Macros are shown? I do not see in the effects panel (Named Essential Shockwave) -how can I include the Lock animation check box into the macro?
Thank you visiting! the "Essential Shockwave" is a template I created in DaVinci Resolve, you need to create it yourself or download and install to the template folder. The "Lock animation" is a custom control added to the fusion node, and you then exported it when saving your macro.
Is it possible to create a wave wrap effects like in after effects in free version of Davinci resolve, i m a beginner in motion graphics and your videos helped me a lot.
You just need to install the .drfx package if you are not familiar with template folder structure, the .setting file is for people who want to manage their own folders.
@@EssentialVideoEditing no problem I finally did get it to work but I went ahead and put the setting file in the proper location -Thanks for getting back to me and Keep up the good work!
At 12:00 in, you select Effect Mask from the context menu of the viewer... My version of Davinci Resolve (18.6.5) doesn't have that option in the context menu. 😭
That's strange, I can see the "effect mask" option in the context menu in 18.6.5, make sure the merge node is selected. This option should be available for any node that has the "Effect Mask" input.
@@EssentialVideoEditing revisited that project, and the context menu is now showing that option. Dunno what I did wrong, maybe I had indeed the wrong node selected :) Anyway, it was easy enough to drag a triangle on it by hand ;)
@Loukman Thank you for the awesome Template, Loukman, I'm new to davinci and editing for that matter. I figured out how to add the effect but how do I make it transparent on the clip over my subject in the edit page? Once again, thank you for the Awesome Shockwave effect.
the shockwave effect is a generator template with a transparent background, you can put it on top of the other video clips, resize or move around to match your scene.
Thank you Cedric for your support! Do you mean to change resolution of the timeline? or resolution of the fusion composition in the Fusion page? where at the tutorial you are referring to?
@@EssentialVideoEditing The Essential Shockwave 'Lock Animation' I believe removes the 'square' frame? The download is like 720 sq, and I wanted the shockwave to blast off the edge, which is 1920x1080. When I unchecked Lock Animation, it seemed to help, however, there remained a small black 'cine-like' border, which I couldn't reconcile. I didn't want any 'borders' around the shockwave, just let it blast off as it will... so resizing the shockwave is my wish - in which it could be in the distance, or nearer, or blow-up and go off the edge of the large frame, without any borders, or that 'cine-like' border, there's a thin solid black edge I still can't remove. Curious, how to resize everything, and was wondering if images (PNG) could be included in the node chain, like you had in the 'spin' tutorial. Either way - your tutorials are the best, simply great! Thank you.
@@fractionalist Ok I see, you can simply resize the shockwave clip to 1.8 or larger to cover the entire frame; Or change the image scale setting of your timeline to "Scale full frame with crop". If you want to make the shockwave smaller, you can set Cropping Softness to -100, which will remove the edge lines.
@@EssentialVideoEditing That worked! Thank you. Didn't find the 'Resize Shockwave Clip' where one resizes, however, I discovered 'Scale Full Frame with Crop' in the 'gear' in Preferences and that worked, although I'd still like to have more finite control of the size, and boundaries. It would be great to be able to control the size & placement for 'outer space' scenes, e.g. exploding stars, comets colliding with objects, a meteor shower hitting a planet, placing the fiery shockwaves at the place of impact.
@Cedric Itor You can go to the inspector and open the Settings tab (on the right side of the Generator tab), where you can do all kinds of transformations, resizing, moving the shockwave to anywhere you want, adding a soft edge to remove the edge lines, it should be able to handle all the scenarios you mentioned.
This is a complex fusion composition, you can download the setting file and examine it in the fusion page for yourself, or if you are interested you can also check some of my other videos for macro basics, like the magnifier effect: ruclips.net/video/eB9vGKl2fGs/видео.html and this playlist: ruclips.net/p/PLIUgM2i2f7RiW5iIyPzAfC0xTLvuyc4yd
