Resistance bands are another good one... I have two which I keep in my bag for warm ups/muscle activation. Not all gyms have a good selection or even have them at all!
What do you eat between events of a competition? This is something I’ve been struggling with, balance between eating enough for energy but not so much that you feel bloated for the next event
I started lifting recently and my deadlift is really lacking, only 140kg, and it's mainly because my grip strength really sucks. I thought about getting straps, but wouldn't it be better to lift raw to increase my grip strength?
Lift without straps at the start in my opinion. When you get better, warm up without straps and put them on for your real heavy weights. Otherwise you'll just end up with piss poor grip strength. This is how I started and now my grip strength is really strong!

Unless you're going to compete in powerlifting I would buy straps

Just do some separate grip holds. Load bar up hold for time double overhand. Grip will fly up.
Depends on your weight. If you weight 90kg and can deadlift 140kg after starting lifting... that's amazing?
