I concur with your opinion. For my particular style of playing, this Soldano and the EVH 5150 LBXs are the best sounding out-of-the-box amps I’ve ever owned. Thanks for doing this demo!
Lol I've been into pedals so much. I havent even looked at amp heads. 260$ thing sells itself. I said I'd never go back to solid state but it sounded better than thought. Plus I'm not really wanting to haul 100lbs of gear. And your totally right about a pedal platform. Would be nice if made something like the ksr eros but with the soldano flavor. Your killing these demos man. Stay metal
Goddamn, that sounds brutal and rich in harmonics and complexity… I love those almost out of control but still musical tones. I agree with you 1000%, pedal format please. This amp costs chump change though, gonna have to get one just for the tonez. Your solo clips sounded so good!
I don't own anything from synergy currently and when I demoed some stuff from them before I had borrowed that from a friend. I would like to try our more from synergy and compare the SLO module to the mini.
I have a Master Effects Sloverdrive collecting Dust on the pedal shelf. Haven't tried it yet so maybe check that out ? I agree though, a pure pedal form by the same Think Tank of Soldano & the Electronics guys @ Boutique Customs or whatever they're called would be Killer. Maybe a Speaker Sim ? Headphone although i'm not big on Cans. \m/-
Are these mini lunchbox heads able to compete with a drummer in the mix? I play hardcore/thrash/metal often at DIY shows without FOH/ability to mic cabs? Somehow, I really doubt it? Is the market for this bedroom/practice only?
@@MetalHeadProductions I do too after this video. You made a great product demo here. I've got a VH4 pedal and it's far and away the best distortion "pedal" I have ever tried. This exact circuit in a stompbox would be bonkers good. Have you ever tried the Victory V4 "The Kraken" preamp?
All it would take really is removing the Poweramp and keeping the preamp as pedal. The other companies that have these mini amps have their preamp pedals that the amps are based on and they sell and sound great. If Solando did this it would sell so well.
@@MetalHeadProductions You know I think it's not an impossible thing, I wait to receive mine and I will take a look inside but I'm pretty sure it's possible to isolate the preamp and put it in an enclosure... I bet the master volume is after the fx loop return and if you take your signal right at the output lug of the master volume you have the whole preamp isolated and ready to be used as a simple pedal effect!

I got excited when you started playing Deadhead at 7:38, haha
And this is an incredible sounding amp! Wow

Best review of the amp so far. Steve the amp is filthy rich in harmonics and chugs are HD!
I like it. I’ve played the older slo-100 iterations in the past and I similarly lust for them.
Fukin deal!!! It sounds so organic for what it is … definitely thumbs up 😎
That sounds so legit. Nice work sir!
Absolutely awesome. Thank you for sharing your video 😂🤣💙💙🙈🙉🙊
You got it. Not sure what all the emojis are about, but glad you liked it.
Boy do I have news for you about the preamp pedal 😂 you should do a shootout with the pedal & mini amp or demo how they both sound together
Unfortunately it's not a preamp, it's just a distortion. Was a big let down for me.
Cool to hear!!

Indeed it is THE best practice amp. But for the real Soldano tone, the SLO 100 is a must, even at low volumes
Oh I agree and I desperately want one of those one day.

Arthur Sounds makes a tube SLO preamp. It's a bit big to use as a pedal, but you could.
Would like this in a pedal format..
Master Effects has an SLO-in-a-box pedal that sounds killer. He's gotta Mesa Mk.IIC clone too (among things).
I’m curious to know how this stacks up against the Synergy SLO module! Any chance of that happening down the road?

have you tried using one of your tube amps as a slave to the soldano with the fx return? does that work?
I haven't yet but I've been thinking about doing that. Still, I'd just prefer a preamp pedal.
If you check out Leon Todd's channel in one of his vids of this he has run from it from the effect send into a power amp, sounds even better.
You I have no doubts, soldano should release this as a pedal without the Poweramp for that reason.

Not really, these are more for practice use at home, or home recording
Kyle Bull And Taylor Danley both have voseos using one of these mini heads at band practice.
take the send out of mini and put in return of tube power amp of choice... its how i ran my bias rack and others even the randall rd5.
Right I could do that, but I prefer a preamp pedal I could put on a board, and so would a lot of people.
My favourite tube amp, minus tubes. Not sure if it's my favourite solid-state amp, there's more competition there.
Seems like a lot of hype to me
For real? You don't think it sounds great?
I think wampler makes a pre amp slo pedal
Yeah I know, but this thing sounds stupid good and I want this exactly as a pedal.
@@MetalHeadProductions I hope they do the same. ☺️

@@JoelCSabo I have gotten to try it at Namm, not the newer version, and it was killer, would love to run it through my gear and see what it can do.
Seven minutes of the same monotonous style of playing. I like the style, but come on, play something different.
Hey, if you don't like my style of playing, you are entirely welcome to watch a different RUclips channel
Mike did the GTO but it didn't sold very well for all the work those pedals represented...

@@dimebagtribute yeah, absolutely, I bet it's be pretty easy. I'm hoping there is enough demand that they actually do it.
