Greetings! BRIDEAR is another great band from japan and you should check out these songs aswell in the future! -> Light in the Dark , Ignite and then Ghoul :D

The bass player Haru and singer Kimi are the only original members, they really struggled for like 1-2 years. Finding permanent members. I respect them for keeping the band and not breaking up. That’s not an easy decision. Listen to some of their newer songs. They don’t sound like this anymore. But they still ROCK.

Little bit late here. Man, I love Bridear. They were the first band I saw live... Their shows are always so much fun. So thanks for the reaction, also it's good to see reaction to Thread of the light, you don't see that very often.
Light in the dark is kind of a must to react to. For live vid I would recommend G・A・M・E.
I would love to see reaction to one of my favourite song Get Over too, but sadly there is no official vid.

People complain about the new direction after the change of personnel, but I saw them in London with the new lineup and they freakin' burnt the house down. Just sayin'! From the old lineup, my favorite is this: "Ignite" ruclips.net/video/LQIDqudG_DQ/видео.html I'm subscribing just to see what happens when you realize how deep this J-metal well is. There are at least 20 all-girl metal bands that wipe the floor with any contemporary American rock bands, male or female.

Bridear has had a few line up changes but they are still together. Their most resent song was Ghoul, it came out about 6 months ago.

They are just -core enough that half time (& more) makes lots of appearances. Check the live version of Scream, the debut release with Misa’s replacement Misaki on guitar and Haru taking over Misa’s vocals ruclips.net/video/Mwp8RKL9RyY/видео.html
Btw, lyrics for Scream are all in English, unusual. The accents, nevermind metal singing, make it hard to hear tho. But what the two of them are singing goes with the music I feel, fun to read along... www.metalkingdom.net/lyrics-song/Bridear-Scream-211748
Breaks my heart that I was at the (crowd size) peak of my career, but playing modern country bass, when we could’ve been playing these harmonized leads... still time, hmmm...
They are still a band, but only singer Kimi and bass player Haru are original. Mitsuru (Jackson headstock) has a new band, not sure about guitarist Misa or drummer Kai. Their new members are worthy (from Astrovery & Telecide(rip)) but the departures may have been because the band was trying for popularity, not powermetal superiority...
Name is probably related to their song Dear Bride.
I love that pink n black arrow, it does have a Jackson headstock. But I’ve heard in general that (all?) her guitars are custom built by her father... wish he, or ESP, or Ibanez, or whoever, would build me one!

Oh my Bridear, haven't listened to these girls for a while. Got stuck in other Japanese bands rabbit hole for too long. Please react to Light of the Dark, Ignite first.

From 2013 to 2018 it was Mitsuru and Misa the guitarists but unfortunately the left the band. That is when i was a huge fan of Bridear. As of new they are still together but with different guitarists, i tried to get into the new music but its just not the same.

While I'm sure the lyrics are dope, it's metal. I'm fine with not understanding it the first time through lol

An excellent reaction. When you get done exploring the wonders of Japanese bands, I recommend Ne Obliviscarus. They're a band from Melbourne. Most who know the band would recommend And Plague Flowers the Kaleidoscope, but that should definitely be heard last as it's best. Really anything is good but I would start with either Intra Venus or Devour Me, Colossus - Part 1.

Having seen them few times live I urge You to try more. Think my fav would be "Ignite", so... ;) BTW to be not only stuck in girls bands You can try Ningen Isu - i.e NAMAHAGE or Heartless Scat (scat here is from singing style). Also would recommend Mary's Blood (You will recognize guitarist from OIRAN MV) - check "It's Allright" (live ver ruclips.net/video/T0scsEEU5Os/видео.html).

They just posted some videos back in April. So yeah, their still around.
I've gotten their music via my Amazon Prime account. I've not paid for the premium, but I can listen to two of their albums without any extra cost. So That is cool.
The thing that gets me is how these J-Rock/Metal bands all seem dominated by Women. Going back, it seems women in Japan found less resistance to success than they did here. Check out "Show-Ya." Their still around. Shonen Knife too.
If you're going to review these bands, check out Scandal. Not metal. But they seem to have started the current trend in rocking girl bands out of Japan. Much more popular in Japan than Band-Maid, and maybe as popular outside (maybe more). Not my thing, but gotta give them respect.
Now, be careful, many of these J-Bands get draconian about take down notices. For example, my favorite not Band-Maid band "Drop's" is notorious for that. So, for your private viewing pleasure, check this one out:
    ruclips.net/video/Q7Lr7L0X9U0/видео.html
The sound is too low on the video, so you'll have to crank it up. I also had to jump through hoops to buy their music from outside of Japan. But it was totally worth it.
I swear, one day I'm going to make it back to Japan. And when I do I'm doing a week worth of Club Crawl. Hopefully before my friend their brings his wife and kid to the State's. If not, then when another friend retires back there with his wife in a few years.

Awesome, thanks for all of this! Yeah, my real curiosity is who these girls looked up to in the rock/metal world to inspire them to play this music. Many of them seem to have classical training, so it makes me wonder! It's been a sweet month discovering all of this good music.

@@TimotatoReacts The drummer was inspired by Nao Kawakita of Maximum the Hormone. The quote goes something like "When I saw a girl drumming so violently, I knew could do it too!" or something like that. The key phrase was "Violent Drumming"
Here she is doing a demo to one of their songs:

That is an old song and they do no more play that kind of music. After both Guitarists and the drummer left in a short time frame, the music is much more some kind of soft Rock, terrible.

i don't think i would call Ghoul a soft rock song but ok.
