Hi luke, (gary here sender of game gear) thanks so much for the video explaining things i definetly wouldnt have thought about any of the pins not connecting as when i looked down they looked fine (to me anyway) but i was clearly wrong. i did already try ipa down there too, to try clean it but that didnt help because the pins were bad, but thank you for getting to the bottom of it! and i look forward to more videos :)
No probs. Yeah the bad pins almost always look totally fine. When they look corroded they always end up being fine lol. Oscilloscope is a must for proper diagnostics
Helped me fix my game gear that wasn't reading cartridges properly. Most of the time black screen no sound, sometimes loading screen or partial load but then freezing or graphical glitching and audio static. After pulling out the connector pins with tweezers and lightly filling them, it now works properly every time. 👍
well done 👍
When are you thinking you will be ready to release new pin connectors to the masses ? If I understood correctly you are going to be producing new pin connectors ?
Yep. Depends how long moulds take. Probably 6 weeks
Are these connectors available yet? I could use some. Thanks
This video is very helpful!
I have a VA0 doing this. Unfortunately I have an old CRT oscilloscope and the wave forms aren't as clear as yours and I'm having a terrible time making out good ones from bad ones. I guess it's time for a better newer oscilloscope.
We have several options which I personally use all of them retrosix.co.uk/Tools-&-Supplies-c49121040
So cool! Subbed!
Maybe a strange question 🤣 if a game gear game not working is it possible to fault find it whit the oscilloscope.
Yes. I have huge resources to do that at www.retrosix.wiki
I need a GameSlot 1.0 please
Not long to wait now
