I was at this show. I remember that it felt kind of weird to laugh, but there was something good about being there and I remember Conan came out before it started and sort of talked a bit about everything. The Black Crowes were the musical guest, well actually just Chris and Rich. They played She Talks to Angels.

I remember now that it was Rudy Giuliani who announced that we should all rush back to 'normal' which it now seems was deeply misguided. We went to war and back to life as if, the result was a permanent state of war.

His dad was a commercial real estate broker, and he studied business at USC. He didn't just sell out. He understood that he was promoting a legitimate financial mechanism. You may not like the product, but for some people it gave them exactly what they wanted.
He typically doesn’t as much as is seen here…you can tell he is skittish in this interview. Most comedians were extremely uncomfortable for weeks after 9/11, this was 3 days back behind the desk, just 9 days after.
