Finally got our 10x out lifting last year after many years. She cut maybe 40,000 acres when I was a child. Maybe twice that. Took many stops to calibrate and fix pieces but was the best feeling in the world putting our own grass in proper with my dad since my uncle died.
NH M135 doesn’t pull her as well as this but together with the fiat L95 I wouldn’t have any other pairing. I’ll do everything I can to keep this harvester going as long as I can

They still went ok with lower power as they have big fly wheel in to store inertia, get them through the sudden loads and then tractor can bring back up to speed when grass has gone through and less load is being dealt with 2 seconds later, it makes it easy on tractor to have stored energy with the moving mass of the flywheel,, other companys like the jf you speak of hasn't got this type of set up and relying more on tractor torque to keep things moving, the reco style set up is smooth with flywheel and 140+bhp, the jf if anything is the one that needs the power even with the upper cut design,,, so next time you think you know what you're talking about, just make sure first

Great harvester but a shame it needs a lot of HP to operate smoothly compared to a JF which gets away nicely with 140/150 hp.

Any trouble with the harvester drive belt slipping at the high hp

Yea it used to slip but as far as I remember we took the tension spring off and put a bolt in instead and pulled it tighter

She has ram to adjust the angle of the reel to the tow bar. Only way to get it down the road. You can adjust on the fly if you get off row. In this case it’s just heavy grass tho
