To answer your questions about the Pokémon, in the newest generation, a major plot point is that Pokémon from the distant past/ far future are brought to the present. So basically the ancient/ futuristic versions of Pokémon are now available (I.e. Iron Bundle = Future Delibird, Roaring Moon = Ancient Salamence). They’re called Paradox Pokémon. Iron Valiant is interesting because it’s a future version of Gardevoir and Gallade where the two evolutions become one Pokémon again instead of a split evolution.
I also want to suggest that they are Paradoxical because they should not exist. The Violet/Scarlett books by Heath were written 200 years ago and the time machine was created in recent memory of Scarlet and Violet. It goes more along the lines of them being paradoxes not because they are from different time periods, but because they are created in the present. Why does Brute Bonnet have modern day pokeball designs on it when it's considered more ancient that Hisuian Voltorb and Electrode who mimic the past pokeball? Foongus and Amoongus had to have evolved over years to lure in humans so it doesn't make that much sense. Also the game doesn't pull Miraidon/Koraidon until the professor creates the time machine after being familiar with the book. Perhaps it created these paradoxes into existence such as Miraidon and Koraidon. This could perhaps be mistaking these pokemon as being from the past/future. Heath had a Cyclizar with him in the book and perhaps he imagined what it would look like in the past/future detailing it on the cover of the book and that is what the time machine created turning into Moraidon and Koraidon. Why else is there only two of them and not the abundance of other paradox pokemon in Area Zero? I think them being actual paradoxes is more likely than them just being from different time periods.
but then again, in the DLC the Terapagos event with the professor might've killed the whole Imagination thing. It could be that whatever happened with the time machine it could not get the accurate depictions from the book, so it created them from the timeline and they came out that way. Maybe that is why Miraidon and Koraidon are similar to Cyclizar while only having two of them in the game. They are probably pokemon from the future/pass that have been current timeline-ified and that's why they bear a more current resemblance, but this relies on whether or not the AI professor is telling the whole truth of the matter.
