Hi just bought the mrs a roberts petite 2 for Christmas as she wanted a radio for the kitchen. Really struggling for reception on dab and fm, especially fm. Really struggling to pick up local stations and things like radio 2. If i do get signal if you go near the roberts petite 2 it distorts. Ive tried the fm local and distance options...have i missed something? Aerial is all the way up tried different places etc any advice welcome 🙏
This is a good review. No one ever tests out the actual time for battery life. Can you check please if 20 hours is realistic for the Roberts built in lithium
I bought a Pure clock/radio It was£100 Put it on dab radio Was shocked how bad the sound quality was - It is absolute crap So Robert’s all the way for me
Pure used to be really on top of the game about 20 years ago but seem to have lost their way in recent years. The Roberts Petite is a better radio than the Pure Classic Mini imho. Roberts are nailing their designs recently 👍
Press and hold drives me mad, I'm pretty sure it's just the software developers showing off. Also the ubiquitous "are you sure you want to quit? " messages and "did you really mean to unsubscribe? click here to cancel", I don't find it endearingto be treated like a child.
Praps it’s Melvyn’s nasal tones that are the problem!? 😂 I think Pure were really leading the way 20 years ago (I’ve still got a working Tempus 1s from many years ago that I still really like) but their stuff just doesn’t seem to cut the mustard more recently. Roberts appears to be doing much more satisfying stuff at the moment imho.
Great in depth. Little details you point out. Much appreciated. Subbed. Look forward to future reviews. Top notch!

Thank you. I’ve actually had this running slightly over 20 hours, nearly 21 hours - vol at kinda half or less for that time: battery life is solid 👍
Why don't you try the pure woodland radio
I did see that one - might give it a try 👍

I’m with you on all those points!! 💪
My Pure Evoke D2 (bought in 2013) has a resonance problem - it hums like crazy for some spoken word programmes, especially Melvyn Bragg on Radio4

The sound quality from the Roberts really kicks the llama's arse
Pure has more bass but the Roberts sounds much better overall imho👍
