I’m excited to see what the hype is all about, I hear it gets a lil political about china but I won’t let that get in the way 🌻

I was trying not to be disrespectful, but I really believe that no one could fully comprehend multiple books at a time.

I would probably be board with the basic story telling if I was a more experienced reader. But I’m still in the sweet spot where I’m just impressed with competent storytelling 🕶️

I would love to do one after I do a reread, so much goes on in that book I need a refresher 🫠 but my next gene Wolfe read is going to be Latro in the mist. I’m really looking forward to that. Thanks for watching

    good morning, friend.
i am right there with you. i can only read one book at a time. i've tried but boy was that a mistake.
shakespeare? yay! i think i told you that i'm an english teacher. well, my specialty is shakespeare. glad you enjoyed twelfth night. it's a good play to start with. richard 3? nice! what's next? hamlet? ;)
that walking tour sounds awesome. it reminds me of a walking tour i took in london some years ago. it was a shakespeare one and boy was it awesome. amazing how much history is all around us
i'm not familiar with those two poe stories. they sound very interesting
i, claudius? i remember when you first reviewed it. i've never read it and it's on my tbr list but you know how that goes. i've heard the series is very good. derek jacobi is in it if i recall. jacobi is a big shakespearean actor but unfortunately he doesn't think shakespeare was shakespeare. crazy!
i was eager to see if you liked malice. books by that writer have been on my radar for a while but i've been hesitant. i'll be curious to see what you think of the sequels
i looked up whalefall on goodreads last week when you said you were going to read it. it was described as a book about daddy issues. hmmm. not sure i can make time for that. i've resolved my daddy issues!
the white sultana sounds interesting but not my cup of tea. or should i say coffee? you got me very interested in the coffee comics. my library didn't have a copy so i requested one through interlibrary loan and guess what? they said there were no copies available because the libraries that have it don't allow it to be loaned. i feel like i'm on a mission now but the price of the onmibus is crazy. i don't like reading online but maybe i will have to in this case. thanks for the tip. i'm very curious about this comic
good luck with kafka on the shore (not my favorite) and the three-body problem (didn't like it enough to continue with the series)
it pains me to see you reading dickinson's poems in altered editions. just remember that these are NOT how dickinson wanted her poems to be published or read. sigh.
i don't like to comment on your news but....sometimes i can't help myself!
"these people are fucking idiots" yep. dangerous idiots! i'm going to stick with jill stein.
menendez? my younger brother was one of his staffers back when he was starting as a representative for new jersey. he has stories about menendez. the guy has always been a shyster. shocking, i know
the internet problem was crazy. we are very vulnerable indeed. i think a more likely suspect is our own government as they learn how to further control us. china? iran? it's more likely these clowns in control are incompetent. that's what i think
i was just reading about the world court has really put the screws to israel. notice how no one is talking about it. they are all about the "rule of law" but when the world courts say they are wrong...they just ignore it. evil fuckers
of course that guy was a spy. the irony is they will probably treat him better than if we caught a spy
they say they have installed kamala is SO revealing. this is the party that talks about democracy but will not allow its voters to decide who the nominee is. this is now the third cycle where this happens. if you don't see how corrupt the democrats are, then you simply don't want to see it. unreal.
okay, this is a long comment. apologies!
take care and until next time...
    🕶😎🕶

      hi friend
i just orderd the complete collection of Emily Dickerson! i hope they are written the right way. i really can't tell the difference but you're not the only E.D fan who has told me im doing it wrong. The people have spoken lol
It's so annoying how hard it is to find Too Much Coffee Man, im with you i hate reading on a kindle but im not paying that much!
my next shakspera in the park is gonna be the 2 gentlemen of Verona, im gonna be prepared this time.
Did you read Titus Alone?? i wanna know if im just a fanboy or was it really as good as i thought.
i heard a good Quote and it made me decide im just not gonna participate any more "If Voting Made Any Difference, It Would Be Illegal"
im half way through Kafka on the shore and it should be labeled as SF, i hate that these gate keepers had to make up a whole new genre (magical realism) so they dont have to admit fantasy and sic-fi IS real literature
hope you have a good rest of the week🕶🕶

@@PoorPersonsBookReviewer i can't believe i wrote such a long comment and forgot to tell you that i did read titus alone. my bookmark was there from where i stopped reading....22 years ago! lol i did enjoy it....but i have to admit that the first volume was the best. you could tell that this third one was not properly finished and/or edited apparently because peake was already sick. it is MUCH shorter than the other one so may it was a first draft. at any rate, the world building and the characters and, especially, the writing were awesome. i would give it three out of five stars. as always, though, ymmv (your mileage may vary)
i've been doing some peake research and have ordered both titus awakes: the lost book of gormenghast and vast alchemies: the life and work of mervyn peake. both sound interesting for different reasons. also, i've got my eye on the gormenghast trilogy from the folio society. it's really pricey but the illustrations are freaking amazing never mind the production quality. my brother laughs at me saying i've now got the folio society bug. he may be right
glad to hear you ordered a new emily dickinson book. it better have the correct version of her poems! ;)
i might have to resort to electronic measures if i am going to tackle too much coffee because there seems to be no other way. i like how you said it is made up of short strips or panels. might make the electronic thing a bit easier for me
yes, prepare for the to gentlemen of verona so you get the most out of the play. i would even suggest reading it before hand, even some commentary. shakespeare is layered and you want get the most out of the experience. then again, you could go in cold without any preparation. most of shakespeare's audience were regular uneducated folks and that's just what they did and all historical evidence suggests they enjoyed his work immensely as well. damn. it's been a while since i saw a live production. i need to do something about that
SO much of literature is really science fiction or fantasy but no one calls it that because sff has such a bad connotation. it used to drive me crazy but i don't care anymore. those of us that love it are in a special club because we know better, right? ;)
because i'm a naturalized citizen and my parents suffered so much to get me and my siblings here to the united states from cuba that i feel obligated to vote even though i understand it doesn't seem to make much of a difference. i want to vote jill stein but the dems are fighting to keep her off the ballot here in nevada. fuckers. the fact that they are afraid of her makes me want to vote for her even more. because that's the way i am!
my week has been...okay. lots of stuff going on. i hope yours has been better!
      cheers
