No ..BHMS & BAMS are not paramedical course...These are also Medical course...The alternative system of medicine okay...
Dentist not only create smile but also treat oral cancer oral maxillofacial trauma etc. ENT is otorhinolaryngology and treat ear nose and throat only. Only a dental surgeon can treat pathologies of oral and maxillofacial region. Such as jaw fractures oral carcinoma ameloblastoma etc. no other specialty can treat these conditions. Stomatology was a medical specialty in some countries which latter got separated as dentistry.
I like this interview the most. It made us positive about BDS.
Don't compare any course with other..,...hardwork is the key .in any field

I would suggest you to compare BVSc (veterinary) along with homeopathy, ayurved and dentistry... As all of these have a wide scope and as far as I know only MBBS, BDS and BVSc are worldwide recognised medical courses!

I agree with drharmandeep. She doesn't know anything about this profession l guess. General dentists cannot work as oral and maxillofacial surgeons and cleft palate patients.
Hair transplant ke liye insaan plastic surgeon/dermatologist prefer karega, ENT ke pass for other things related to head and neck. Haan teeth related dentists ke pass jayenge
Ent is oto ear rhino nose and laryngology throat nothing more. They treat only ear nose and throat disorders. Oral and maxillofacial surgeon are primary specialists of oral cavity jaws and tmj. No other specialty can treat pathologies of oral and maxillofacial region except dentist. And they earn 3 times more than ents.

Earnings in dentistry depends on your talent. How talented you are in that field, that much you can earn. I'll say, Sky is the limit for dentistry! So if you are earning less than 10k per month, review your handwork and try to improve yourself rather than blaming the field :)

A bds earns 10 times more than mbbs. Mbbs is nothing without specialisations. Only after md and ms you can compare with bds. Mds is equivalent to mch

Acha bataye kii Government dental college kitne hai india me the answer is very less.. So if one have to become Bds doctor if he didn't get government seat then he will take good private dental college.
Bhailog don't just get sooped in due this, no hatred to any proffesion but no matter which field in medical u go u will earn good money. But there needs to be a correction, the path is spread out in mbbs than any other. Dental, ayurveda etc need a setup first. If your family has dentist history then go for it or if u have the lumsum of money to invest go for it but dont fet fooled by this. Other than mbbs to get huge money, u have to put in more, make name for yourself then u will make more money.
And another thing, a dentist will earn more money than mbbs doctor in their private clinics and jn the same way a mbbs doctor earns more in their clinics in addition to hospital they work in.
this isnt true mbbs has a broader spectrum so does bds and the family background thing is definitely a myth
theres so much more to bds than just teeth
mbbs u HAVE to specialise while bds is a speciality in itself
pursuing MDS will most definitely put u on a higher pedestal and grant u more money

Oral cancer ka patient sbse pehle ENT specialist ke pas jata he, na ki dentist.
Pt ko pata hi nhi hota use oral cancer hai, only a dentist can detect it first and then a team of specialists treat it

There is a specialty after BDS called as oral and maxillofacial surgery for the same. Be AWARE first. ENT specialist has nothing to do with oral cavity. I get referrals from ENT everyday because i work at a hospital, they don’t even look inside a patients mouth, they just send the pt to a dentist. Thankyou

First of all you can earn after BDS and setup ka minimum cost 3-4 lakhs hota hai and itna tum BDS ke baad job krke bhi kama loge. Itni tension lene ki zarurat nhi hai.

I don't get why people nowadays demotivating ayush for the motivation of their field, I mean ek dusre ko utha kr bhi to apni tarif ki ja skte hai.
Maybe the reason is awareness in between people about Ayurveda and homoeopathy. I am not against dentist or allopathy...but calling other field pseudoscience is stupidity when they themselves didn't study a word about it (ayush).
