I think it has the potential to be close. I have WVU as top 3 finisher in the Big 12.
I think WVU has a real shot at winning a close one but still not the favorite. I give it 40%

even as a die hard mountaineer i agree 40% i think if we win it i will be by 1 score and probably only 1 to 3 points. ill take any win..lets goooooooo!!
While top teams have elite talent on their roster, the big difference between a top 10 team and a top 20 team is the top 10 has second and third string players that aren't a big fall off from the starters. It's why you'll see underdog teams do well for the first 1-2 quarter and then in the second half, the game quickly gets out of hand. It's why depth is important.

I haven't heard that ,,most of the handicappers don't give WVU much chance. I think it will depend what wvu's defense looks like, and if the secondary has improved.

Everyone knows that Penn St has 40 4 an 5 Star recruits. WV has 6. That alone tells anyone gonna be a hard game to win.
Yea you got to be carefull tackling the stars. I mean a star have five sharp points on the ends. So all those five point stars running around could be dangerous.
But remember with all those five point starts on the field it did not seem to help Penn State in the bowl game.

It has to do with depth. The fewer 4 & 5 star recruits a team has the bigger the dropoff as they rotate linemen and skill players. It's not magic. Top teams are packed 3 deep with really great talent.
Here’s the thing. Even as a die hard WVU fan, I have to be realistic. People don’t expect WVU to win because PSU has better players and depth at almost all positions. We can win yes, because college football is like that. And if we play a great game, and they don’t, we can get the upset. But it’s just another example of our fans being so delusional about everything when they say we should be expected to win.
WV isnt even as good as last year lol psu by atleast two tuddies.....at the end of last year, they beat ucf, byu, a down tcu, sPITT, and a NC team that had their good players sitting out.....yea....momentum into this year hahaha
