I’m from Brantford Ontario, Pauline Johnson was born and lived nearby, on the Six Nations Reserve. There is a high school named after her in Brantford. She went on to international fame and success, and as you say, recited and and died in beautiful Vancouver.

When referring to Indigenous Traditional wear it is extremely disrespectful to call it a costume! It is Regalia or Ceremonial outfit. She is not playing indian. She is wearing the clothes of her people that is older than the words North America. Correction, not a judgment.

Here's an interesting coincidence: Pauline died in the same year as Harriet Tubman, 1913. This was also the year that my mother was born, so easy for me to remember!

Fantastic history lesson. My Mom went to Ecole Pauline Johnson in N Van. Across the street is the house that the creator of the Mr Ed show grew up in; my former boss once owned it. Gosh I miss my home town, especially now days as I would like to show my kids. Is that a Tiko Kerr in your thumbnail?

Some Guy thank you kindly Guy. You must be referring to the great Alan Young. By chance do you know if the house is still there? I’d love to do a vlog about it. 👍🙂

Jean Claude Van Couver Yes, the House is still there. I renovated it in ‘98 adding a basement otherwise the house is all original. If you can, try and get a shot of the back door it’s a Dutch door, pretty cool. Three in off the corner of 22nd and Jefferson. Can’t wait!

@@truthteller1951 Thank you kindly my friend. Is it the one on the south west corner?

Jean Claude Van Couver if you look on Google its to the North East on Jefferson right across from the school. On street view you will see a wooden gate in an arch and a cobble drive way. I hope that helps Sir.
