- Dino Crisis 2 is a survival horror video game for the Sony PlayStation, developed by Capcom Production Studio 4 and published by Capcom in North America, released on September 13, 2000 and publish by Virgin Interactive in Europe, release on November 4, 2000. The game is the sequel to Dino Crisis and was followed by Dino Crisis 3 in 2003 and was ported to Microsoft Windows that same year.
The story follows the events of the last game, where Regina is now on another mission involving a facility located close to the fictional Edward City, where a major anomaly has caused the whole island to be transported back in time to the era of the dinosaurs, along with all the human inhabitants. Regina is sent on a rescue mission with her new ally Dylan Morton, who has a strange connection to the events on the island. The player's control switches between Regina and Dylan at specific points in the game.

I know it's for the plot but I'm pretty sure naturally a blast from a rocket launcher should instantly kill it rather than blow out an eye. But hey they gotta make these dinos more imposing somehow.

Dino Stalker is the closest we'll ever get to a TRUE Dino Crisis 3. Sure, it ain't perfect. But it's better than what we got.
I remember being 7 or 8 playing this and May 10th 2010 felt like the far distant future. Such a cool game. David was a total bro.

I can't really explain in words how I feel about watching this intro after so many years since I played this game. This is basically one of my best memories of my childhood and still I clearly remember playing it over and over again without getting tired or annoyed. I miss those moments when times were happier and easier because being a kid back then, with that kind of "technology", was an unbelievable experience 😭

GREAT NEWS! FromSoftware (Dark Souls, Elden Ring) bought rights to Dino Crisis from Capcom in February 2022. As they wrote on Twitter: „We just bought Dino Crisis from Capcom, more details coming soon.” Fingers crossed.

Thans to this kind of fast subtitle transings we learned english so fast. And running animaton of dylan and regina still beats call of duty games to this day.

while it has mixed reviews, Dino Stalker is decent enough. Story is convoluted asf. But it can be fun depending on your taste, and many have seen that one as the true DC 3.

Dino Crisis 2 was not a bad game, but I felt like the sequel was too arcade like compared to the first one.
I played 2 before 1 so when I got to it I found it really weird that Capcom tried to create a RE game with dinosaurs. I mean a slow game works well with zombies since they are also slow but Dinosaurs? The RE gameplay just didn't fit the type of creatures that we were fighting in DC in my opinion. Velociraptors are just way more powerful, their movement is a lot quicker, they are a lot more agile and mobile with leaps and jumps and not to mention their built in predatory, killer instincts so I don't really think that a slow, creep like gameplay suits fighting these types of enemies, especially if they are the main type.
RE is more like a chess game, you plan your moves, manage your equipment, etc. the enemies give you a lot of room to think and plan out your actions while Dino Crisis should be more action and less thinking because Dinosaurs don't really give you any time to think, you act or you die.
@@schibleh531 Ok I can see that a slower, progressive gameplay style that of Resident Evil 1 and 2 wouldn't go well with dinosaurs. But you can still have that action/survival horror element without that buying and point, selling system from Dino Crisis 2. For me that just takes away the difficulty and intensity of fighting hordes of dinos, cause all you have to do is keep, re-entering a certain area with weaker dinos and bank points for the better weapons, instead of finding them and saving ammo. Also having a robust environment to use to your advantage besides explosive barrels would make it be even better.
@@barmbailey6934 Hmm true, the points and combo elements were arcady as hell. However I don't see the ammo conserving system of RE working in DC, it needs to be reworked because you will obviously need a lot of firepower in order to battle your way through a dinosaur infested jungle. I wouldn't want to lose the buying system either tbh...maybe if they changed the money system? Like you earn credits through exploration and doing difficult side missions or tasks for the survivors you find in the game? Or maybe something like RE7 where you have limited funds and you can't buy everything available. I love the environment idea though but I fear that it might turn DC into an entirely different game if they implemented it.
@@schibleh531 dino crisis 1 had ammo conservation elements. the creator said explicitly that 2 was more action adventure. he thought thats where the series was headed, RE as the survival horror and DC as action. unfortunately we got action RE and no more DC
First dino crisis was RE bootleg. Imo Dino crisis 2 > 1
