Im at 4:36 and shocked. This list missed vital signs/junaid jamshed the rage and number 1 band of pakistan since 1988 till its breakup. Before ali haider zalim nazro se shud come vitals signs songs. N the compiler also misses the hit numbers by junoon as well. Clearly awami choice.

Dosti song was by jupitars band. Jawad ahmed was not then vocalist of band. It was then sung by Ali Azmat who in 1988 was lead vocalist of jupitars. When Ali left jupitars, jawad ahmed joined it n sung for band.
Zaberdast, knew all the songs, reminded me of my school days.❤

No dictators in the 90s....last one died in 1988...there was huge resurgence of western style pop in Pakistan....things tapered down in 2010s until Coke Studios and Nescafe Basement

Its the problem with 9/11 n Pakistan inclusion in WoT that changed everything n effected our music industry. Vast islamization of country took place in early 2000s

Zia Ul Haq became Prime Minister in 1970s and well Pakistan was going toward more Islamic direction and he banned certain music and movies, so the industry took a nosedive. Hum Dekhenge by Faiz Ahmed Faiz poem/song came then as a voice of rebellion of certain people in society,. We are proud of being a Muslim country, but he was a dictator some people say and so he was one such ruler who under the guise of religion passed laws according to his interpretation and used religion to defend his interpretations and manipulate the laws for himself. He was a gray character, he passed good laws and did good things, and not so good things it can be said. (I don't know, I'm in University now, heard this from elders in family.)

There are only two countries in the whole world founded on religious ideology Pakistan and Israel so after Zulifqar Bhutto, Gen. Zia ul Haq came to power as a military dictator who helped Afghan Taliban in their fight against Soviets and defeated them who were super power at that time and yes Gen.
