This is right about the time in the series I'm gonna jump in here. I've never had to work with Modicon PLC's until now and I'm going through this series trying to get up to speed. I have to say though, coming from primarily Allen-Bradley platforms, the Machine Expert Logic Builder software seems ridiculously convoluted and quite messy compared to RSLogix 5xxx or Connected Components Workbench. I can see why the A-B PLC's are far more prevalent in our industry.
Hi there! I can understand those feeling when someone is trying to learn how to use a new software…the comparison is inevitable and it happened to me when i moved from the German one to Schneider 😊. In the Schneider world we have different PLC with different software , in you case I believe you will be more comfortable using something not based in Codesys like the EcoStruxure Control Expert with the Modicon M340/M580 but i do not know you application so not sire why you choose the Machine Expert. On the other hand, the series of videos that you see here I created them to explain in details how to use the software to avoid problems in the development (all content is non official schneider) so if you any doubt i am more than happy to help but with complains not too much (you can contact the technical support and request modifications in the software).
Hi Achhar! That is the idea but I am covering at the moment the basic of the software before jumping into that level. You could use the NVLs or define the registers for the variables on the plcs then use the IOscanner in both of then to access to the info (modbus tcp).
