I miss the legacy version, made it more fun and simple to connect notes by pulling at the card, not digging in menus. Bit of a shame they removed this functionality.
Would love to see you make a Scrintal video that shows you connecting images throughout the canvas vs 95% being text base. After all, if it is being advertised as a visual tool I think a lot of (potential) users might use visuals over text. Not all, of course, but would be nice to cover the bases. Often wit these canvas tools I find that they fall short with images as the image size cannot be reduced, they get cut off, etc. Think it would be an interesting video Earlier you mentioned that you cannot create a fleeting note in Obsidian without it being a permanent note. I think that depends if you are approaching things the same way as you are in Scrintal or not. Meaning from a visual/ canvas perspective. If you are (meaning you are using the Canvas) then that's not quite accurate. You cards are indeed fleeting (meaning they are not actually files) while you can turn them into files or connect files in the first place to the Canvas. That's not to take away from Scrintal though as I think it is quite more powerful from a canvas perspective in many other regards Was a nice video. Look forward to seeing a deeper dive after you have had time to explore the new update
Hm, well, luckily there are free alternatives out there, especially if you don't mind the bidirectional linking being separate from the infinite canvas.
Brava! Continuing to love your content & insights! Scrintal must be, too - how great they’re supporting and partnering with you, a thought leader in this space! Good luck with the dissertation, too!!! 📚📄💻
Totally, luckily there are free apps out there and if you use Obsidian, you can even just import all your notes from there into Scrintal if you decide to switch!
Oh boy, I have to post an update video soon. It's been on hold for about 2 months due to big changes in my life. But I'm about ready to pick it up again and finish writing. It's about 1/3 written and most research is complete, so hopefully it doesn't take TOO much longer!
I've always appreciated your perspective on these apps! Thanks for posting this!
Amazing! So good to see how you use it! X
Ooh, I saw you in the comments at the launch party, right?
@@morganeua yes!!
You can also take a block and add it to the document on the bottom and it “stacks” with it.

This app looks nice! Have you ever tried Anytype??
No, I've never even heard of that, actually!
Is this avaliable on mac and Android.?
The pricing is VERY steep.

@@morganeua awesome! Thanks for the reply! I'll look into it.
Quick question, have you completely replaced your obsidian zettelkasten?
How does it compare to Obsidian???
IMO Scrintal is plug and play.
It's honestly so different now. I prefer Obsidian for the straight up linking of ideas, but Scrintal I prefer for brainstorming/planning.

Thank you! I'll put a PhD update out soon... Hopefully next week!
Is the Heptabase have the same function way before this?
I don't know, I've never used it! Is it?
Obsidian will do the trick for me!
Amazing! I love Obsidian for knowledge management. I don't love it for project planning or writing as much, but aaaall of my knowledge is in there!
Thank you it’s a great app, but I can’t afford it right now. I’ll keep it in mind tho!

Greetings From México!!
The last thing we need is another note taking app.
Fair perspective 😛
