I am new at Illustrator. Your videos are so easy to understand. You have a great voice, clear tone and perfect American accent, you are right to the point but thorough. Not too fast nor too slow. And never a dull moment. Please make more videos on every aspect of Illustrator. You are a gem. I can't thank you enough.
Hi Anne. Just watched your tutorial in Skillshare and it is great! I wonder would you recommend people to use Wacom tablet for Adobe illustrator work? if so, which one would you recommend? Thanks.
Thank you so much! I use a Wacom for everything, AI, PSD, even file management. It is a steep learning curve - I had to use it for about 40 hours before I became comfortable with it...but once I got used to it, I knew I could never go back - it increases my speed by about 50%!! So yes, I'd recommend it. I have a small, most basic model - an older Bamboo CTH-480, but I know most people like very large Wacom tablets, so I'm not sure I'm the best person to ask! :)
@@ckernest Both newer PCs and a Macbook Pro can handle Illustrator - I've got a Macbook Pro that I love, but I know you can get a better PC for your money.
If you check the Include Swatches for Tints option, if you've copied 2 colors in from InDesign, and one is a tint of the other color, then it would make 2 swatches. If you don't have it checked, it would just make one.
Hi Anne. I was watching one of your tutorial adobe illustrator. I have a vector image and I want the swatches to select all the colors except the colours that are used in the vector image, how do I do that?
So you're using both raster and vector images in the same design, right? To do that, you'll need to image trace the raster image (make a copy to do that) to get the colors...to be honest they won't be exact, but close.
@@GDHT Dang hea, whenever I do that it's just a check box that gets checked or unchecked, can't really see a change. If I manage to find swatches from clicking on an object -> clicking on properties and fill then I can bring up there swatch menu, but there is only white or black and a color grid of only white black or Grey. No options for other colors. I've noticed illustrator seeks glitchy ever since my 7 day free trial ended and I started paying for it. I'm gonna reach out to Adobe, thank you so much for the quick reply :)

@@GDHT Do you use ipad for any graphic work? many artist use ipad for hand drawn logotype.
@@ckernest I do have an ipad, and I use it sometimes, but not often...maybe 5% of the time. Some designers use it a lot more, though.
What is include swatches for tints in new colour group?

Hi how do I clean up my user defined swatch library?
You could delete swatches out of it, then overwrite the original, although it can be a challenge to find the path to that.

Hi Ann, i really like all ur videos . specially swatches panels..it is very helpful for me as a amature designer.thank you for sharing ur knowledge.
Dang i just downloaded illustrator and it seems to have come with no swatches
It should! Make sure you have a document open, then go to Window > Swatches. There should be some pre-loaded in there.
