I admire her for not leaving him in the beginning of the construction work. Instead she took on a huge and really difficult task that wasn't a part of the deal from the beginning and she did it very well! ( Still handling her other full time duties.) The building was for his benefit, not for her- so of course she left, not he. We don't know anything about their marriage. Not how he or she is to live with. So no idea taking sides? I'm sorry for the whole family.😢
Why this gentleman didn't pick the option to reshuffle his current house layout in adding an elevator and changing the kitchen accessibilities? It's what I think a better fit if your budget and expectations are not levelling
Unsure why everyone is commenting about 'her leaving him', they made it clear it was a mutual separation. Beautiful home. I'm happy for them both and may they have beautiful futures
of course it was. initiate separations 90% of the time. he had no choice in the matter . a man in a wheelchair wouldnt want to spend the rest of his life alone.
@ so it’s an assumption. And it’s 70% of the time that women initiate divorce. Sounds like made up ableist talk to me. Being in a chair doesn’t limit the ability to make one’s own decisions.
Amazing job, great program Kevin. We are watching your programs from the the early begining. We are building our home by our hands, come to us and see how its going :) Grettings from Poland :)
Wait what? A two level house was a problem, so he thought to build a three level one? Didn't an elevator fit in his existing home? All the other stuff (ramp at the door, other kitchen) could be fixed easily
This was not well thought out. Renovating his existing house to remove the problems would have been much more cost-effective. Even including re-doing the kitchen.
Terrible news about splitting up the family. A home is the foundation of the family, they built it well together. I hope there will be reconciliation, that beautiful home can be for generations.
I fail to understand the angst over deleting the basement. From the start I thought that a grade level garage & entry was more sensible. Expensive to construct with the extra forms and conrete, you STILL need a grade level solution for power supply loss or malfuntion of the elevator.
I would have kept the Old Barn...Dig the Basement with Bobcats...as planned..Cast Concrete Columns under the Steel Posts, one at a Time...poor a thin, reinforced insulated Wall 6 inch ..around Garage Enclosure...And onto the existing Structure, cut Holes for Windows, Reinforce around them, get a Good welding Team..Foam Insulate it in the End...Add 6 insulation of Leaves, Hay and Lime..Build Boxes to hold it..Cover in Metal Sheets...Huge savings if you can get out of the Headspace that all must be demolished or New..when you can Do that and Go beyond your ego, it gets a lot Cheaper..If you seek Validation from 22 people..then Costs drive Up.
So you sell a two storey house because you can’t get upstairs, but then want to build a three storey house next door. Well that makes sense.would have been better to just modify the existing house.
I don't know why she is leaving him, although I might speculate about his nocturnal capacities.... Look. It happens. One thing I really expect. Mark will not be living in such a large house for long. So much for his dream home.

She split at the worst possible time!
Nice home, so sad they are apart.
Very sad. How unfortunate.

She left him ofc. What a cruel woman

@@darylwilliams7883 Pretty sure the person actually living the problem knows better than some random armchair-expert.
Life is about navigating the "Pennys' looking for Pennies." Wish you all the best, mate.
courtyard house is beautiful!!!

I feel for him

Very convenient split. Am I the only one that can see the fake caring and consideration

That woman is loosing my mind. Her stiffness is brutal
When I first saw her I knew she was leaving him, poor guy, he is actually better off without her, it's nevertheless very sad.
Please Subtitles????
So much drama. Nice house though. I wonder if he had to sell it.
I'm sad 😔 😔 💔
wow
I don't know why she is leaving him, although I might speculate about his nocturnal capacities....
