A major correction regarding the crediting for this moveset.
The Ridley moveset shown here was made in collaboration between BaganSmashBros (also known as RidleySmashBros on RUclips) and myself (the project was first started by Bagan before I took over later on) alongside multiple community talents lending a hand.

Well the only reason because they had put in Ridley from Metroid in Ultimate, it’s because of the memes, and not because he is a legit badass dragon. :|
@@NumbHydro as disappointing as his moveset is in Ultimate, at least he got a better deal than poor Ganondorf. At least we got Mage Ganon mod and this Ridley mod to make up for those shortcomings.

You pretty much nailed his neutral air and down tilt. I like most of your moves way more, but from Ultimate's moveset I prefer his Skyrim shaped up air, his Up B that spikes, Down throw, the tail stab f-tilt, and the chomp dash attack.
Otherwise I think most of these moves are more fitting for Ridley. The pogo was an obvious change for the better, although I would make it a combo tool like Young Link's down air. The fire Upsmash is great too.

his moveset certainly looks similar
It is but has been updated for the past year or so, with plenty of new costumes as well. Although not shown in the video above, he can now grab foes and drag them across the floor like Ultimate. If you do it in the air, he will skydive with the opponent to the ground.

@@davidvkimball it seems to be based more on the trophy, but when most trophies turn into fighters, they get more details and realistic saturation to fit better

To be honest, Ridley should have gotten in as early as Melee as he was way overdue before he got into Ultimate.

Ultimate Ridley's moveset has its originality to it (personally I love that his Side Special is a reference to that one cutscene in Brawl). But MAN, they should have added the ability to grab opponents airborne with his feet, which was so cool to see here. That IS one of Ridley's signature moves!
Hot take, I feel like this just works better than ultimate Ridley. Ultimate Ridley feels so constricted and weak. Some moves have the feel of power but this one just captures that aspect much better.

I understand Ridley's move set in ultimate however it does seem kind of disappointing that he doesn't have more aerial based moves considering most of his game portrayals show him flying and using his tail.
The mods looks spectacular like it's official. It could've been interesting to see ayumi tachibana to be a fighter including wario in Melee.

When I was a kid (5 years old?) I experienced Melee for the very first time. One of my most prominent memories was seeing Ridley in the intro and asking/telling my cousin (ohhh I wanna be him!). My cousin had to break the news to me that the cool Pterodactyl guy wasn't playable, which broke my little heart a teeny bit.
So when I have kids, which I'm hoping will be soon, they WILL get Ridley in their Melee experience lmao
To be honest, I do kinda wish there was an alternative Ridley mod where he is in a constant state of flight by default. That's how I figured he'd play. But still this is wonderful work, thanks for sharing!
