  • From the earlier days of online ecommerce giant, Taobao, to the low-price champion Pinduoduo, and now TikTok entering the online shopping race, all are rife with counterfeit and inferior products. In China, shopping mishaps are a common occurrence, almost everyone who has shopped online has encountered them.

I lived in China a few years ago. In general, I like the Chinese but the country is a disaster. We lived in Qingdao, which was voted China’s most liveable city. The pollution was awful, our water stank of chemicals and we employed a fan with a filter to suck the contaminated air from our bedrooms. Our flat, which I was told was one of the most desirable living spaces in the city, would periodically lose parts of its walls. They would fall apart. We were spied upon, both in our flat and at work, and the Chinese seemed to have gone to great lengths to do this. Moreover, nothing really worked, all the more intelligent Chinese wanted out and I just wanted to leave towards the end of my two year contract. I try not to buy Chinese goods - we have Chinese stores here in Madrid - as they simply fall apart, and avoid Chinese food, for example, tinned mushrooms at any cost because China is so contaminated. Since the pandemic the country is being sidelined both politically and economically and while it’s not going to collapse, I predict a slow and steady decline and a growing list of problems.

So not only did I get my flags possibly _cheaper_ than Temu could offer them at (Think I paid £1,45/ea) but I got *significantly* higher quality product into the bargain, too! 😁

Pure and simple, if I cannot determine where it’s made, I won’t buy it. If it’s made in China, I will pass it up. Unless I need a certain item and I can’t avoid the Made in China, then I’ll buy it, but anything like clothing, electronics, furniture - things I need for long term, I’m going to make sure it’s NOT going to be from China. China is just notorious for cheap knockoffs, trashy crap… Things you need for short term such as plastic utensils, or everyday use such as plates, I don’t mind if it’s made in China. But understandably, things like refrigerator magnets I buy from places I visit, gag gifts, are mostly made in China.

I carefully choose items when I’m shopping on Temu, and have been surprised to be very satisfied with over half of my purchases. the purchase that I wasn’t satisfied with cost me so little as well as offering refunds that I’ve actually found Temu to be really awesome as someone below the poverty line who cant afford much. I have purchased a mini washer that has worked great for only $12, and all kinds of useful kitchen gadgets for pennies - literally. and the pair of shoes I bought for $22 that look like Converse knock offs have lasted me longer than actual converse brand that run for $60-$70. when it comes to things like shoes and T-shirts you really can’t beat Temu if you’re poor. also, I live in a rural area where everything is more expensive than the city because of how far it Hass to travel to get to where we are and I still don’t understand how Temu can make all orders free shipping. I canceled my Amazon prime membership years ago, and I found to be more useful than Amazon ever was. For example, my husband needed a mouthguard and I almost $30 for one at the local drugstore went home and ordered a pack of six for less than five dollars and yes it was the same product that worked just as well.

The first time I wore it, within a few hours my wrist started to itch underneath. After a while it became very bothersome, so I removed the watch. Within hours after removing it, I had 3rd degree chemical burns all the way around my wrist. I contacted the company in China and went to the top manager. I sent multiple pictures of my burns and I was told that it was my fault because I wore the watch on a hot day. I tried to contact a lawyer in China with zero response. No more China.

A lot of people in this country would buy directly from China if they produced quality products, even at a higher price. It's as if they are doing it on purpose to make us look like fools. Unfortunately for them, I will never purchase from TEMU again. You would be for the better to do the same.

Unfortunately, I think part of it may be the CCP whipping workforces to drive up stats. If this is the case Temu won't give the blindest care about sales for tomorrow, their sole concern is sales for *today.* 📈
I don't think Temu is meant to be a long-term business, but a temporary tool aimed at driving many established (western) players down and/or out of the market. If it gained dominance it would re-brand to something else (The rebrand being used to hide a transfer of assets to a different shell company) then throw that shell to the wall as soon as consumers start going somewhere else. 🎰

So you are the guarantee guy of the ccp I guess..did you not see the video..what's to make sure the expensive products one buys in China are not counterfeit. In a country where counterfeit products are the norm how does a customer spend his hard earned money on such low quality products..it's better to buy stuff directly from official websites of high end brands rather than buying their expensive merchandise from a Chinese store and then crying about it when you come to find that the thousands of dollars you just dropped on a handbag were a complete waste because that bag turned out to be a Gucci knockoff ..do 50 cent trolls like you get paid for defending china from the backlash it deservedly recieves from people who live outside china and unlike the Chinese citizens have the right to question everything their elected government does without any fear of persecution or the threat of being sent into thousands of reeducation camps that exist in the xinjiang province...you know after interacting with hundreds of shills and Chinese c..ksuckers like you I have come to realise that the only argument ccp loving clowns like you can come up with to defend your pro china stance is all the countries on this planet hate china because they are jealous of its rapid growth in the last 50 years..thats it you people can't come up with a single logical reason that can be considered a fair and impartial assesment of the rapid downturn in economy your beloved ccp has been experiencing since their home made virus ruined the lives of every human being on the planet resulting in economic decline the world has still not recovered from and never before seen super high inflation rates all over the world.. you know if there is by some miracle a single honest bone in your body instead of shamelessly defending communist china that is run by a Brutal and dictatorial regime that hates dissent and the very existence of a fair, honest and progressive society it will be much better for you if you spend your time exposing the unparalleled brutality and terror the uiyghur muslims have been experiencing at the hands of the majority Han Chinese who are being paid handsomely by the ccp if they decide to settle down in China so that they can start their genocidal campaign of ethnic cleansing of the uiyghur muslims by illegally occupying their lands and putting them into concentration camps the moment those oppressed people decide to rise up against the horrendous subjugation they are being subjected to on the behest of the ccp. What ever they are doing in xinjiang right now is nothing new because it has been a very effective tactic of the ccp they have tested and perfected during their ongoing illegal occupation of Tibet. They are also trying to use these tactics on the indo China border by making villages to entice the han Chinese into settling down in that desolation but unfortunately for the ccp the han Chinese are not that stupid nor are they nationalistic enough to give up their lives of comfort in mainland China and move to a place that is as inhospitable and tough to live the reason being lower oxygen levels leading to fatigue and breathlessness that can turn fatal in a matter of seconds. Hypothermia ,avalanches, way below zero temperatures and altitude sickness....these are some of the other problems the han chinese know they will have to face if they start living there to please their masters in the ccp who they think in turn will raise their social credit scores but it will happen only if they blindly comply with everything their Chinese masters say they want them to do..

There are three types of knock-offs produced in China:
The actual high-quality stuff, that's just based off of stolen intellectual property and unlicensed use of proprietary tech, so it can't be sold legitimately and has to use an off-brand - usually sold for as much or even a bit more than actual brand stuff. Makes about 10~15% of total Chinese fakes.
Functional knock-offs, that are worse than brand stuff, but not critically so, and will do if your budget is tight. That's around 50% of Chinese exports.
The trash you see in those videos, "produced in the nearest basement near you"™. Makes up 35~40% of cheap Chinese trash. Lately, some morons started to price gouge some of these, especially electronics, to the level of the first two categories to trick customers when buying online. This is actually very bad for international trade because it destroys any positive disposition some customers might have had for Chinese equipment.

If you buy it ridiculously cheap, it's fake or substandard. Just consider your money as a donation to the online seller and he sent you a token of appreciation. But on the funny side, the products shown here were so hilariously messed up🤣🤣🤣🤣

When I lived in Shenzhen I saw and went to, a five story building on the border with Hong Kong. All five floors sold copy goods. Each floor had around 100 small stores. They even had a seafood restaurant on the top floor because there was so much business. It was crazy. Sometimes there were raids by the police. So the shop owners would quickly move the fake stuff into the ceiling. Moving the ceiling panels. Then when the raid was over they just put everything back. Surreal. It was. All of it. The Chinese are really really good at copying. Too good.

Fun fact, Temu was the number 1 advertiser for youtube for a good long time. I believe they actually were the largest advertiser in all of America for a while. I've yet to buy anything. Amazon stuff is cheap enough. At least I can successfully return junk most of the time. Temu = wish and I don't order from wish either.

I totally disagree! I have purchased several items from TEMU and have never been shorted, where as if one buys anything that is advertised here on RUclips, if you don't know the company, then you are most likely being screwed.
There is no truth in advertising here on RUclips! It's a Republican Reagan dream!
