3:04 quick comment just to avoid confusion, the 25x multiplier doesn't pertain to years in retirement. It comes directly from the 4% rule. 100 divided by 4 = 25. Great work still, Charm!

When I compute for my FI number, do I deduct the expenses that I don't expect to spend when I retire? Stuff like my kids' college savings, life insurance, mortgage payment, etc (expenses that will be completely paid in ~10 yrs). Let's say at present, my monthly expense is at 50k pesos, half of this amount is actual expense (food, transpo, shopping, etc) and the other half is investments, life insurance, home mortgage, college fund for the kids etc
You can deduct it but I would personally leave it since there are other expenses also when we get older like medications, and I want to be more conservative sa numbers
This was just an example, best to come up with your own number. But since the investment was adjusted for inflation, the 30k should be more in 20-30 years. We're just talking in terms of today's money for easier math

This is not feasible in the US stockmarket even with S&P 500. 3-4% is more realistic when you take into consideration overhead and taxes (income and capital gain). The (2)nd item is the 4% withdrawal rule. This strategy serves only in good economic times when your investment and/or stocks hovers around 10% ROI. Anyway, I am amazed on your financial aptitude at such a young age. Some of us did not have internet when growing up, hence kudes to you for being smart in planning your retirement!
Please tell who are the owners of Shari-Shari and if they are backed by financial institutions to have more transparency and to know if they are sustainable for the long run and not a fly by night scam.

Not really, because with other platforms, they have spreads (fee is already integrated when you buy and sell). So if you regularly buy stocks ie weekly/monthly, you might be able to save more with a subscription than with spreads. It really depends. Either way (subscription or spreads), there are always fees even if they say "zero-commission trade" haha
Index funds are usually offered by Investment companies and are often actively managed while ETFs are offered in stock brokerages and are not actively managed (just mimics indeces)

shari-shari is not a licensed brokerage. if you want to trade US stocks use a licensed broker.
They're partnered with Alpaca for that.
