      Oh my goodness!! Thank you so much, you are the sweetest!! This DIY was such a fun one to create! I actually have another video where I made matching coasters using the tumbling tower blocks. In that video I just glued the blocks together using wood glue, and I actually wish that I had done that with this tray as well. If I could do this DIY over again I would probably skip the foam board and just use wood glue like I did with the coasters. Thank you so much for your support!! 🤗💕

      @@LifeofStyleBlog Jess, you will not believe this!
      Not one box of the tumbling tower blocks or those lil cube blocks. The cashier hadn't a clue what I was inquiring about...bless her.
      I did, however purchase 4 of the bath rugs (not identical to yours), more jute string, 2 of the large glass candle holders you used in your vase...they did not have the top piece thou, i picked up some really cute pics, I was soooo tempted to purchase the fall pics! 😊😁😅 but, i know i have extra out in my she-shed...i picked up a few of the crafters square lil wooden trays....oh and the pool noodles so I can make the oversized holiday wreaths with the hula hoops picked 4 of those up in Gulf shores at a $ store...its rainy here, so I'm gonna go to HL tomorrow.
      Oh, I have a request for you.
      I purchased a box of pain sticks last year, could you do a video on making a nice lantern?
      Hope you are having a spiffy day...

      Oh no 🙈 I can’t believe they didn’t have any of the blocks! They did change the packaging and doubled the about of blocks in a pack. My local dollar tree was actually out of these blocks for a little bit as well but thankfully they got a new shipment in. I’ll leave the website link for them here www.dollartree.com/tumbling-tower-games-72ct-packs/317515 , just in case you want to show the cashier next time. It’s the worst when you are trying to explain what you were looking for and the cashier just looks like you like you have three heads lol 😂 I will definitely start thinking about a lantern, that sounds really nice!! That looks so good! I actually think I can do this. If I wanted to use the handle, what is the easiest way? Screw it in from the bottom? Thanks!! 🤓🤓

    • @LifeofStyleBlog
      @LifeofStyleBlog  3 года назад

      Thank you!! Yes, most likely the handles would have to be screwed in to really be useable. It would probably be a bit tricky though since the blocks are a bit thin. To make it more sturdy overall I would suggest skipping the foam board and either just glueing the wood block pieces together with wood glue (I did this in my tumbling tower wood block coaster video) or glueing the blocks to a thin piece of wood with wood glue. You could place the blocks on the base wood piece to measure out the how large it would need to be and then cut the wood to size before glueing the blocks down. Thank you so much for watching!! 💕

    • @LifeofStyleBlog

      Hi! Thank you for watching. I spray painted 60 blocks white on the top only, to be used for the bottom of the tray. Then I spray painted 41 blocks white on all sides to be used for the sides of the tray. 101 total, painted. After this video, I created matching coasters with these same blocks. In that video I used wood glue instead of hot glue to assemble them and I would definitely recommend that for this tray as well. If I could redo this tray, I would probably skip the foam board bottom and skip the hot glue. If you assemble everything with the wood glue it will take a little more time but in the end will yield a better result. I will leave my coaster video link here to show how I used the wood glue to assemble them. ruclips.net/video/LPmiCl6XLos/видео.html

    That tray is absolutely beautiful why did you put it on foam board I think it would be more useful if they have phone bore on the bottom

    • @LifeofStyleBlog
      @LifeofStyleBlog  3 года назад

      Thank you so much!! 🤗 I used the thick foam board from dollar tree just to give it a sturdy base and something to glue the wood blocks to. I was trying to stick to dollar tree items as much as possible. I think this craft would also be awesome though if instead of foam board you used a scrap piece of wood to glue the blocks to. That would be a lot sturdier and would be a great option 💕

    • @deborahquick1490
      @deborahquick1490 3 года назад +1

      @@LifeofStyleBlog you didn't need to stick it to the foam board sweetheart you could have just glue the pieces on their sides together that way I could get wet or something but it is gorgeous really is absolutely beautiful gorgeous

    • @LifeofStyleBlog
      @LifeofStyleBlog  3 года назад +1

      Yes you are absolutely right! The pieces could just be glued together that way you can leave the foam board out completely and not have to worry about it getting wet or ruined. Thinking back I probably should have done that, in which case wood glue would be best instead of the hot glue. That is what I ended up doing for the next video when I made the matching coasters, I just used wood glue to glue the block pieces together and it worked out great. Thank you so much again for your very sweet words! 💕

    Was hot glue enough to hold it or is it simply decorative?

    • @LifeofStyleBlog
      @LifeofStyleBlog  3 года назад +2

      Hi! Thank you for watching!! For me the hot glue is definitely enough, especially with the gorilla glue glue sticks, but I do plan on just using mine as a decorative piece. To make it a more functional tray I would definitely suggest using wood glue, I think that that would give you a very permanent and secure hold. I would also suggest using a small piece of plywood for the bottom instead of the foam board. You can get a small piece of wood very inexpensively and lay all of your pieces out before you glue them down to the base and then mark off exactly how large you need to piece of wood to be, then you can cut your wood to size and glue your small blocks onto the plywood with wood glue. I am planning on making one of these trays as a gift for someone and this is what I plan on doing for theirs, I want to make sure that their tray is very sturdy in case they do not want to use it just for decor. When your project is all done you can also seal everything with some mod podge, I would recommend a matte mod podge. They even make a dishwasher safe mod podge which would be really good for a tray that way it is waterproof in case you have a drink near your tray. I hope this helps! 💕

  • @nancycurtis8975
    @nancycurtis8975 3 года назад

    The bottom left the corner didn’t lineup

    • @LifeofStyleBlog
      @LifeofStyleBlog  3 года назад

      Yes once one of the blocks is out of line it kind of starts a domino effect 🙈With the way I have to have my camera set up in order to film it makes it really hard to see the top of my project while I am crafting. But when you’re just crafting without worrying about a camera angle it is so much easier and I don’t think anyone re-creating this craft would run into the issue I had with having to trim one of my block pieces in order for it to fit in the corner

  • @halo3960
    @halo3960 Год назад

    • @LifeofStyleBlog

      I’m so sorry to hear that! Yes for durability a wood base would be best. If I could redo the craft I would use a wood base and wood glue to make it stronger. 💕
