    Why the hell does my book draw an enormous chart with arrows and all that bs...this is much simpler, algebraic...it’s just neat! Thank you so much, you’re a GOD!

    • @appleseed1092

      Because that chart actually shows energy levels changing with each reaction? Like personally I find visual charts to be much easier to follow. There's no bs in showing systems in different ways.

    Professor Organic Chemistry Tutor, thank you for an awesome introduction into Born Haber Cycle in AP/General Chemistry. The practice problem is simple to follow and understand , however, I am confused about the final solution. I will review this material from start to finish.This is an error free video/lecture on RUclips TV with the Organic Chemistry Tutor.

    Great video but I am a bit confused. I thought we are meant to divide the bond energy by 2 since we are using an atom of fluorine?

    • @AsiaGamingGamingChannel

      Muinat that’s what I thought too

    • @vivianawamiru2028
      @vivianawamiru2028 4 года назад +13

      You have to use the fluorine in its naturally occuring state and it occurs as a diatomic gaseous molecule ...so 2 fluorine atoms.

    5:40 ish... you don't multiply the bond energy by 2 , you multiplied the electron affinity by 2.... you need to fix the voice over so people don't
    get confused..

    When he writes the Mg+2 +2F-=MgF2 I am confused about where the charges so because I am assuming that F2 comes from 2F, does the 2+ charge on Mg disappear.

    • @felicitaschukwude5814
      @felicitaschukwude5814 3 года назад +1

      It's because there is bond breaking in 2F which is di atomic
      Only one of the F is used
      The 2 in MgF2 is for magnesium, which is having 2+ charge
