Or someone hired a Chinese company to make molds and reproduce thousands of these. In which case there are some truly dumb people involved in this that don't understand basic law.
Came here to say this. I bought a batch. They're too smooth to have ever been printed on an FDM printer (e.g., out of PLA as speculated), they definitely have mold lines, and some are multiple pieces. Presumably someone printed them out in resin and then used those to cast molds. Although I suppose cutting the 3d models up and CNCing metal molds is another possibility. As for whether that makes sense vis-a-vis legality... Well, if it's a Chinese firm, then I guess it depends on how many sets they can push out the door before they get caught. Although at the current price point it seems like it's going to take a lot of sets to break even. Maybe someone did think that they could get away with it, then Amazon shut them down, and they sold off whatever was left at under cost. Because they're less than $0.50 a piece if you buy the 80 pack (20 sculpts × 4 of each), and a steel injection mold costs like $40,000 - $60,000 up front.
My last internet find was over a year ago, a brand new Tomb of Annihilation boardgame on clearance for less than 30% of it's retail price, painted the whole game in a week, I tend to use the stone juggernaut as a paper weight but sometimes I place it outside my DM screen just to mess with my players, it works like a charm stopping pointless discussions and speeding up the game.
The Heroforge “printed” models are re-cast. The mild lines are a tell tail sign of it. 3D printing would leave very very small horizontal ish lines. Good old China, pirates too the world. Other then that, you got some amazing minis for a steal. 👍
You know,to me, it's a amazing how find stuff in internet, it's must a great adventure to find treasure in the world of information and computer, keeping it up, good sir
Oh my gods watching you unbox the Demonweb Pits box took me back. I invested so much into 4th Ed and it’s minis when I first got into the hobby. Amazing how far I’ve come. Amazing I still have all those models too haha
There should be a cloth with a sky with clouds design where you can simulate aerial battles where one fights with flying mythological creatures such as dragons and griffins; there should be some ridges and mountain models included.
If anyone is interested the Elf Expansion for Runewars is $19 right now on Amazon. Not bad for 20 miniatures. amzn.to/2E52IlI I earn from qualifying purchases but the price remains the same for you!
Nice video! Lots of sweet stuff here! The Citadel Black thing is just plain weird. I assume they're making molds from HF prints. Congrats on finding that Demonweb booster! Some nice minis you got in there! :D The SCS "Monster" miniatures are ... interesting. Made a review video on their prepainted sets. Very much agree with you on the kobolds. Crippled God Foundry ... That stuff looks amazing! Really wanted to get that, myself. Glad to see you did! :D And while that cloth map looks pretty good, I think creases would bother me. I'm thinking of getting some neoprene mats for the same purpose though. :)
I've been looking at the board game Heroes Land Air and Sea from Gamelyn games. Amazon had a nomad pack (stone age troll types) of 10 guys for $14 this week, got them and they are 28mm foot to eye, fair plastic firmer plastic then most board games, real good detail, makes me eye the core game might pull the trigger on it for xmas ($99 for 80 minis, granted a lot of workers per faction three unique and some soldier types) and expansions. And the review on the actual game aren't bad.
I miss these videos haha, but damn those Hero Forge minis could have been great. I was hoping Hero Forge would sell bulks like these but with generic characters for cheap.
I picked up a runewars box for $50 from second hand store purely on the fact that they would come with like a hundred and twenty miniatures I get it home I open up guess what I find nothing but tiles not the basic square ones but like the ruin War type ones with the extra scenery around it they're pretty neat but I was disappointed that I didn't get the Miniatures that came with the Box
Always check thrift store stuff before you purchase it. Even if it seems new. Also the older Runewars stuff is much smaller in scale than the newer version which is close to 28 MM heroic.
I'd use dowels to roll under map to represent moving waves, fast or slow, choppy or rolling depending upon speed of wave, height, & frequency. "Roll for initiative, 22! wow, you get seasick first" =)
You're videos got me looking at every toy section in every store I go into. If someone asks if I'm a pedophile I'll just be like, " no its cool. I play an elf in a magical world of dragons and faries." Seriously, he gets good stuff. My best buy was for a sci fi game I was running that had alot of none biped creatures. So I went to a pharmacies toy area and bought a bag of farm animals. This bag was super generic with none of the animals in scale with each other. My favorite figure from that was Stoner Cat, a cat figure the size of the cow figure with a bizarre facial painting that makes it look super stoned. I use it anytime I have a non humanoid boss fight.
sweet finds dude, didn't find anything interesting as of late but did run into a box of those magic the gathering board game minis that someone tossed out by my apartments.
Those are definitely some great finds. Did you happen upon the direct from China 🇨🇳 unbranded Zombicide miniatures? There are some really good ones to be found on eBay.
I might or might not be aware of the grey market of miniatures on ebay...The Joan of Arc board game miniatures are mostly too small for D&D but DANG those joan of arc monsters are AMAZING. (Joan of arc cockatrice is Impressive.)
Yes... I may or may not have acquired a mini which, may or may not, passingly resemble a certain late popular music legend portraying the magical monarch of a particular species of diminutive demihumans who inhabit cave D in the Caves of Chaos. I can't wait to paint him up to use as one of the many 80s Easter eggs I've included in my campaign.
I bought a couple Rum and Bones minis off of ebay from China. Thought they were just reselling but when I got them, the plastic was slightly different. I saw the zombicide ones a some Cthulu Wars pieces as well.
Can you still find and buy those Citadel Black figures anywhere? I'm thinking I could use them to bulk up my numbers of random monsters for Frostgrave with them.
They have been taken off Amazon and basically you can kind of find them randomly on eBay but I don't have a listing. They are pretty small compared to most 28 mm miniatures.
If they are close, they don't have to be perfect to be something for our warbands to beat down and move on. Just generally close in scale and design, numerous and affordable.
If you go to the China.desertcart site of the Citadel Black Horde bundle you can see it is imported from the USA to China... Is this going to be a subscriber coordinated investigation... We may never know
So weird. If they are made from molds...like WHY make then smaller scale and WHY base them off Hero Forge which means you would never be able to sell them legally??? So many questions. No answers.
Might be more inclined to subscribe to your channel if you gave more information about things you find on the internet....like where u find these clearance sales
If they have mold lines, they're not 3d prints. They probably used the STLs to print the masters and then made molds of them.
Even more interesting. If it's molds then frankly it has to be a Chinese operation. Nobody in North America would put so much effort in.
Or someone hired a Chinese company to make molds and reproduce thousands of these. In which case there are some truly dumb people involved in this that don't understand basic law.
@@Blandco yea they're not 3D printed they are re-casts of prints.

I looked online and some of those booster boxes were SUPER expensive, like 40 plus. Seemed excessive.

Skurge from Thor: Ragnarok, or Blandco finding deals in thrift shops or online? You make the call!
We do share a similar energy, I won't lie.
Nice finds. This is an adequate replacement (or addition) to your thrift store finds
Well the thrift store stuff I could sometimes buy at $2 a pound so the pricing really doesn't add up...

Where did you find the boats that you used to display the water mat at the beginning?
One I crafted! ruclips.net/video/LSGJptjz_gI/видео.html The rowboat is a wizkids rowboat and the large boat is a toy that I repainted.
great finds my friend

This might be a stupid question, but how does that sea map work when it has no grid?
Rulers! Or you can just eyeball it.
A standard 25mm base is 5 feet in game, move the base its own size per 5 feet

They were very cheap but honestly not worth it due to their small scale. I want to say like less than .50 cents each.

Well both of the Kobolds and the rune wars set was on Amazon. The sea mat was a lucky eBay find. Generally I link stuff in the description.
