Your facing angle has the red and green filp floped, not a big deal but could mess someone up. Other than that this is a great video

what about a kayak is wrong to have a red and green light to show port and starboard

The prescribed light for a kayak is an all-around white light. This gives the kayak the exact appearance of a vessel being overtaken or a vessel at anchor. While a kayak is very nimble within a few feet, it's not very agile in medium to large distances. Accordingly, like a stern light (boat being overtaken) or anchor light, the all-around white light for the kayak ensures that like the boat being overtaken and the vessel on anchor, it's the stand-on vessel whenever the risk of collision is present. If a kayak were to show running lights (red and green), It would be signaling that it can give way to other boats when it is unlikely that it's actually capable.
