Best video🎉❤😊😊thanks your share🎉❤😊😊
You also have the option for fire in the hole. Which is lighter fuel in the rat den and throw a match. Just the den area. I think these animals talk to each other. Once you attract light that they will relocate. Thank you for showing your garden
Wow! That sounds intense haha. But thank you so much for the suggestion :)
I am always amazed at how gorgeous your Greenstalks look! Those are beautiful!!!
Thank you!!
I think you should send a couple photos or a video of your greenstalks to the Greenstalk company. Yours are the fullest and most beautiful I have seen on YT! Maybe they would support you in some way. They are a family owned business. Just a thought.
Aw, thank you!! Yes, they are a family business and they are wonderful! I’m actually an affiliate with them, and they gifted me my last 3 planters!!!
I have a few videos about it ☺️
We are garden people. I rarely meet a mean gardener. We usually support each other and share with each other. Your garden is gorgeous. Rats are just a huge chore. I grew up in NYC. The rats drive me mad. In the subways? 😖. Here’s a weird thought. Is there a plant that rats just love? If so what if you plant that plant off in a corner as a trap plant so maybe they will leave your veggies alone? It’s just a thought. Rate will eat a tire if they’re hungry enough. 🤮
That’s a good idea, I have to look into that. I just learned recently that they eat dog poop too 😳
Thanks for your video. I hope things get better for you at the garden plot. I can understand the feeling about not wanting to go to it like you used to. Hang in there. Sending you hugs. I also love how you've included other gardeners in your videos. It's all about community and support. 🙂
Thank you so much! You are right, community and support is everything 💚 Thank you!!!
Don’t feel bad about abandoning the plot with rats. If it was me I wouldn’t want to be around rats either. You do great with green stalks maybe a few more just in the backyard? Your cooking videos are great too.
Thank you, Paul! I would love to add a couple more greenstalks in the backyard. Specially since these two are doing so well this season. And I definitely want to try filming more cooking videos too!! I’m glad you enjoy them. Thank you so much for the support too 💚
É uma pena Mari.
@@mariadorosariolyra1068 Pois é :/
I garden on the landing of my building and I also deal with rats. I spray a solution of 1 part water, 1 part vinegar with 5 to 10 drops of peppermint essential oil all along my landing near my veggies. I do see 1 from time to time running on the sidewalk because I have neighbors that do not secure their garbage cans well but the rats do not come near my garden. And my garden area smells nice because of the peppermint scent.
I actually just got some opening essential oil! I’m going to try that too ☺️
Thank you so much!!!
This is my first year dealing with them too. I'm worried about what happens when my veggies start ripening. So far the lettuce, peas strawberries, blueberries have been fine. I'm thinking about giving away my chickens because I have had to remove water and food from their area. They are so limited now because of the rat issue and I don't know if I will be able to get rid of the rats as long as I have chickens. Three years with no problems and this year has been stressful because of these rodents in my backyard
Ohh that’s so sad that you might have to give away your chickens because of them 😢
Just soak your veggies and fruit you harvest in vingar and baking soda. The nutrients are coming from your soil, which is healthy .The dust won't hurt your food unless it's asbestos and lead dust.❤
Yes, unfortunately the dust here has lead. Most older buildings in NYC have it :/ That’s why I was concerned about eating first
@MarisGardenandKitchen oh,oh, I don't know how much ingested is dangerous .I would research that before eating that food.🤔 As we know, most things don't affect you until you are older.
❤❤❤
Have you tried cayenne powder l know it keeps the squirrels away
Not yet, but I think it’s a good idea. Someone suggested to make a blend with cayenne pepper, garlic and vinegar, so I might also try that
