So, true love died in 2020.
I have had cases of second lead syndrome before, but I have no recollection of it being because the other guy and his relationship with the girl was clearly so much better than the one we were supposed to be rooting for...
The story between these two clearly got out of hand and became much more than the writers could handle. In the end, Dalmi had to become completely thoughtless in order to choose Dosan (she couldn't even point out a reason for liking him? she who wrote a hundred love letters to Jipyeong?) because if they had her ponder for more than 20 seconds over this decision, the outcome would've been way different. Also, Jipyeong had to be the one to validate Dosan's relationship with Dalmi, which was so infuriating to me for so many reasons that I deliberately chose not to include many scenes from the last episode in this video. Even if I abide by the dreadful Dodal endgame scenario, I still choose to think Jipyeong left and never looked back, cause he deserves so much better than living around the breathing reminders of everything he was robbed off.
I could write essays about what a complete clusterfuck this k-drama became after episode 9 but I'd rather not get any angrier, so I'll just settle with two affirmations: Jidal the best couple we never had and Jipyeong, you have become my biggest heartbreak yet.
This video is all over the place just like my feelings are right now, and even though I am not particularly proud of it, it's my send off to this ship that I became so attached to. I am grateful to everyone who's been supporting my jidal edits lately, it really means the world. Sadly, I don't think I will be editing them again, at least not for a while. I need some time to swallow my bitterness and look at them with the appreciation I used to have during the first half of the drama.
Thank god that this is over, finally I'll be able to move on to my other projects and shows cause this hyperfixation has been making me postpone so many things and in the end it wasn't even worth it lmao I am never watching anything by PHR ever again.

hated when dosan said he has only one thing and jipyeong is taking away from him. it is totally opposite. dosan has friends and family. bunch of people to lay on. jipyeong has a han river apartment and great watches but he has no one beside him except grandma.

Dosan always came in between whenever Han Ji Pyeong was about to express his feelings. When Dalmi asked Ji Pyeong about why he helped her even if it meant he had to lie, and when he bought a present for Dalmi to confess his feelings and suddenly Dosan appears after 3 years at the same moment.
Literally not over them not once speaking about the letters together like . make it make sense.
RIGHT? dalmi didn't talk about the letters, jipyeong didn't talk about the letters, but dosan kept bringing them up and quoting bits and pieces like the fucking impostor that he is UGH im so mad i hate it here

UGGGGH The way he got defensive over Dal Mi from the moment he met her (even before Ji Pyeong realized his own feelings) immediately turned me off. Ignoring the fact that Dal Mi constantly stated the impact of those letters on her life but decided that was insignificant to his 'warm big hands.'
If I didn't love Ji Pyeong, I wouldn't even bother with this drama.

Jipyeong's first love will always be Dalmi. I'm still angry that Dalmi didn't keep her word and chose the Dosan who wrote her the letters 15 years ago.

han jipyeong deserved to be happy. i felt very bad when he cried to grandma. he is the person who wrote the letters but in the last episode he said to dal mi “i didn’t look for you for 15 years but do san went to you the day he read them.” this is non-sense. the letters were belonged to han jipyeong and he just said this words for comfort dalmi. also he helped dal mi everytime she needs. he was the person who deserved happiness🥺 the video is great btw

Dosan just need to lie that he was the one who write the letter, crying like an innocent person to begging dalmi for brainwashing her to waste all jipyeong's memories in 3 months. And he just need go to silicon valley to chase his own dream, and its because dalmi push him to go indeed, and then he let dalmi be on arkward situation between jipyeong. All of dosan's pure effort is just on technological and enginering area.

do not watch it, literal trash of a show. the writer doesn't know how to develop characters and relationship lines. they failed building nam dosan, won in jae, seo dalmi.... all of the leads EXCEPT han jipyeong. its a loss because they built their childhoods so nice (except dosan, we practically know one thing abt him and that is he is a genius) and threw all the potential out with the forced writing later on

Like it did not make any sense to me. She should have obviously realised that the person she had known and longed for, for so many years was actually Han ji Pyeong. I was so heartbroken by that. I still haven't been able to watch the last two episodes because I know the ending and the stupid things the writer made Ji-Pyeong say and it is not just heartbreaking, but absolutely non-sensical. Thanks Anne for making these edits so that we can come back to them in the coming months to adore our beloved Ji-Pyeong and reminisce about the show that made us discover the talent of and fall in love with Kim Seon-Ho. Maybe in the future you could make not a JiDal video, but a video celebrating the amazing character that is Han Ji-Pyeong.

Ji Peyong for me was the real male lead of this story, I feel like they really missed something by making him second and letting Do San take the lead. Recently I watched drama ' Catch the ghost' in which Kim Seon (Han Ji Pyeong) is main lead.It came in 2019 and I just adored his acting, expression,charm..and it is worth to be watched❤️. After seeing this video and comments,I won't be able to watch 'Start-Up'🙏🏾. He is now being acknowledged and we should at least be happy for this.👍🏽😁

Ohmygod!!!! This is one of the best jidal fmvs that I've ever watched. It's like a trailer or snippet from a movie. It is treu that jidal could've been the greatest couple in the kdrama land ever, if only PHR wasn't a dodal stan lol. So much potential was wasted ugh! Even after 2 weeks have passed since this drama ended, I still don't have the guts to rewatch it bc I know that it'll be very disappointing. Am i the only who was super mad about the drama that they made letters utter useless later on..why stress on letters so much when they will not mean anything later like whyyyy? They started the drama with the letters being a strong backstory but afterwards they became just meaningless to her and out of nowhere she loved do san with whom she didn't even have any emotional connection..sorry the writer failed me

Atleast Im not the only one who is sorry for Han Ji-Pyeong?? that feeling that Ji-Pyeong were betrayed by the writter and the director. I'm already at the 13th episode but Ji-Pyeong never had a good moment with Dal-mi. They never give Ji-Pyeong a chance to prove himself to Dal-mi. When that moment finally came, when Do-San left korea, wow they just fast foward the timeline like "Ji-Pyeong you're not part of this story", when in reality that's the BEST chance he's waiting. I'm not choosing Ji-Pyeong over Do-San, both of them were so good, it's just that Ji-Pyeong STARTED this love story that's why his character should not be left out. He deserves a good fight to win Dal-mi but the writter/director keeps on sabotaging his chances. His story deserves to be heard too!

Dalmi and then Jipyeong were by far the two most developed characters in the drama which is why people liked them. Dosan and even the grandmother was underdeveloped. Check out my thoughts on why I think Dalmi suffered from the impostor syndrome and how Jipyeong helped her overcome it! #teamJipyeong
