I had a string of lights that I could make twinkle or not twinkle by switching out one bulb. You could check your twinkle strand to see if there is one bulb that is marked with paint. They advise people who win big on the lottery to move out of the US to regain anonymity. If I ever had such a lovely problem, I would head straight up for British Columbia. We camped our way across the three westernmost provinces in Canada one summer when I was a kid and I was blown away by the beauty and the people. My parents were teachers, and we had almost three-month family summers back in the day. Three months of not working was why they decided on teaching. lol But school districts keep the kids enrolled more year-round now-a-days since getting crops in isn't a thing and most families now have two working parents and need the day care aspect of school. I lucked out there. New Zealand would be a wonderful place to live. I think they rarely let non-citizens buy property -- which is really smart to preserve housing affordability. Ireland lets people of Irish descent take citizenship, but part of the process is living there for five years before applying. I'm hoping that five years from now the US will be saner. Plus, I'm not Irish -- I just always longed to be since I first heard the music. It amused my mother. She said I must have been settled on a porch in Appalachia in my previous life, making music with the relatives, in the pre-TV days. And stitching. 😀
Thank you for sharing such a wealth of information. I grew up in B.C. It is lovely, there are parts that I feel truly at home at, but now that I live in NS, BC feels too populated. NS is similar to how BC was in the 70s.
Hi Sheila - Old Dutch chips are made in my home town of Winnipeg. Just thought you would like to know. My family had some all the time when I was young. Yes that is a thread waxer.
Cool. I did not know that. It is funny when I moved out here the East Coast, a friend had no recollection at all of the box twin packs. It was always a family tradition for me. Every New years Eve we would get to pick out a twin pack. Love Old Dutch. It is my youth.
Yes, I think seasons are very important too. I grew up on the west coast which had less pronounced seasons. My husband is super sweet, I am very spoiled.
Your thread conditioner will be great with shiny, difficult threads. Maybe that old gold stuff you were battling with. New Zealand is a fabulous country with lots of hiking trails and beautiful scenery. Costa Rica also has quite a few hiking places.
I’m having fun following along with your advent stitching. It is so cute. ☃️ It’s really nice that you have supported some creators that are doing their first advent boxes and are giving them some exposure. 👍🏻 My immediate answer of where else I might want to live is Ireland but like you, I’ve never actually been there so maybe I should visit first before committing. Let me get back to you. 😉
I am enjoying their advents. We shall see if they do it again. My violin instructor has a strong connection to Ireland. She is even putting on a retreat there next year. I thought about going but decided to save my money at this time. Plus I would rather travel with my husband.
Yes. That is a very important consideration. I love Cape Breton but I get eaten alive by black flies. We are lucky in Freeport. With the wind, there are very few bugs.
Hiya Sheila 😊 I live in Cornwall Uk and love it not sure I could move abroad but I do love the look of Dubai and how there quality of life is so good ..the only thing is the heat would be to much for me x
I have the same conditioner 😊 Don't think I would recommend live in Ukraine but you definitely want to visit it when it is safe. Ukraine is versatile and so warm welcoming 😊
Your videos showing it, makes it look very charming. Although it mostly looked like a big city, and I am true country girl. Nice to know that it is a welcoming country. If I ever visit I will let you know. I love how European countries have such beautiful buildings and history.
I have lived in Pennsylvania most of my life so have had all four seasons. I'm not a fan of being cold so if I were to move outside the states I'd choose a tropical spot. Maybe Costa Rica
Ahhh, yes. I am sure that that could be a draw. For me not so much as I picture warmer tropical places to have more insects. And I love having seasons.

I love that we have seasons so I would need to live somewhere that had seasons. That was so sweet of your husband. Your Advent stitches look great.

It’s great seeing you everyday. I love Stitch also. See you tomorrow happy stitching 🪡😊🍁
I wonder if I would feel differently if I saw the movie. Have you seen the movie?

Interesting. A younger me would have loved all sorts of hiking trails.

LOL I also thought the bag the needle minder came in was nice. It's the small things we appreciate the most. LOL
It is fun doing these advents. Patty's day 2 is a big stitch. But like she said we will have time to catch up.
I hear there are no mosquitoes in Iceland, I’d give that a try! lol

they’re all here!! Well not today, maybe that why I love winter so much! lol
True.

Cornwall sounds lovely. I picture beautiful countryside, magnificent views of the ocean, and old castles. Thanks for sharing 😀.
