    Is that copper tubing?

    Hey I tried making my own today and I can't get a steady stream of steam I did a 10' 1/4 in roll of copper and wound it into a 2". I have it tapped straight into a hose outside. I am using mapp gas as well.

      Sounds to me like your coil might be to short , i would have to see it , tell you what some time today im gonna be posting a video of the one i just built yesterday and ill try to go over some problems and solutions , a garden hose is only like 30 psi so you will need at least 100 psi for a good steam blast like the one in the video , either your coil is to short or your pressure is to low and your getting vapor lock , the input pressure must exceed the the boiler pressure to function properly .the boiler pressure is the result of coil size heat input and orifice dimensions

    Is there a parts list? Really want to try building this myself. What are you using to supply water?

  • @chrisalex1440

    So what do you think a good linear foot of copper tube would be to wind into a coil. Also how can I make a charge tank. And the best way I can describe how the coil acted was when the water was turned on anymore than 1/4 turn the coil just couldn't get hot enough to turn it into steam

      Im still working on a perfect coil size myself . i have some videos coming up and one uploading now to examine what needs to be done .

      Trying to get one built today but I don't wanna waste more money on materials when I'm not sure if it will work

      im not sure how to tag you ? any way it sounds like you need a longer coil and a pre heater , check out this test ruclips.net/video/AByuw_dgkVE/видео.html. I found that you need map gas also , the propane did not fair well

    Have you considered a steel pipe in the center to evenly transfer heat to the coil?

    • @NOBOX7
      @NOBOX7  7 лет назад +1

      no sir but my thought is it would glow red hot emitting infrared heat to the coil i like it ., i have decided to add a stainless steel cowling to the coil hoping it will contain the wasted heat and glow red hot to heat the exterior of the coil

    • @NOBOX7
      @NOBOX7  6 лет назад

      Yes i even consider placing a stainless steel helix inside to act as an infrared emitter . past testing has shown that poor heat transfer takes place between the coil and the center pipe , i have built several super heated steam devices and had to braze the coil to the combustion liner , a very expensive move in my position and then i decided at least with the coil being expanded lengthwise the flames could pass threw and heat the sides of the steam line

    Сделай спираль под конус, помести в закрытую ёмкость ( в твоём опыте ты греешь атмосферу ) и подавай воду капилярно из простого ведра расположенного выше уровня спирали. Создай герметичную, конусовидную камеру сгорания. Термоизолируй еёчтобы исключить тепловые потери. Пламя уменьшится и КПД повысится.

    Have you considered trying this using a Tesla valve (a sort of one way simple valve) to regulate the water travelling into the coil? I was curious and had the idea that it would allow for a lower necessary driving pressure for the supplied water.

      great idea on the tesla valve , i know exactly what your talking about

    Soo, pressure came from the heat coil right? No need pressure water?

    • @NOBOX7
      @NOBOX7  6 лет назад

      no the water pressure dictates the output pressure , in this test we used 50 to 100 psi of air pressure to pressurized a bottle of water with a straw down the center , kinda like when you squeeze a juice box and juice sprays out the top

    Im trying to build this out of 3'8 ID tubing so it has a nice big flow. Do you think this is to big for proper pressure? How big should i make the coils and how long each coil?

    • @NOBOX7
      @NOBOX7  6 лет назад +1

      I dont recommend that at all friend , you need a small coil to keep the water moving very fast , i feel like a big unit will give pulsating splatters and not a constant flow also the torch can not heat up such a large volume of water quickly and this would result in a sudden large spray of fluid and steam then only very hot low flow steam might come out , but try it bro i could be wrong , the idea is to only boil a very small amount as it flows quickly threw the pips , then the boiling steam excelerates it , my boiler uses 2 coils , it starts really small then gets bigger to make room for steam . also in a small tube the pressure can stay very high , this allows the water to get hotter then 212 geg or 100 c without boiling , then as it exits the high pressure tube it "Flashes " into steam with tremendous energy , with a large tube you wont get the flash effect unless your building a massive coil with a huge fire ball and very high pressure flow

      It's just 3/8 do you really think that is to big? What did you use? 1/4? What would be idea to increase pressure flow (sorry for multi post) I'm very talented at many things so I learn very quicjly

    • @landline9850
      @landline9850 6 лет назад

      It was still to be portable just a little more industrial type for bigger projects. But not to to big. How much psi do you think I would need for that to work? I was going to make an attachment that hooks up to the water hose or other fitting and a possible pump integrated into design if need be. Your project is pretty legit but I'm going to nna tweak it to some of my knowledge maybe put a Handel on. A have a torch head high temp gets bigger then the demonstration in your video however it's just slight more flame like but I feel like it still reaches the same temp, my question would be is that at a rapid point VS to how you had yours set.

      ive decided to go an entirely different route friend , i think we need a better torch

      not sure what your talking about , if your referring to the brazing , its bronze or brass pretty sure its just brass

      Reminds me of the "heat exchangers" my buddy and I used to build to heat our pool. This one works way better.
