Your SxSW stories remind me of our experience running the Flashback booth (named because we were originally sponsored by Atari and had a few Flashback 2s on-hand for playing) at all four Arcadia festivals in Montreal. The first year, we had way too many things easily accessible to people, and some kid actually left with Edgy's Neo Geo Pocket... which Eric fortunately managed to recuperate from the kid over at the Nintendo booth. That same year, I was witness to someone using the Virtual Boy, tilting it so much that it crashed on the ground. The second year, we had some display cases that wouldn't lock -- I remember clearly some teenage boy trying to discreetly pry it open. Fortunately, I caught him and we kicked him out of our booth. And that's not to mention our vintage CRTs being used in the last year: we had about half a dozen spare TVs and by the time the weekend was over, we actually had less TVs left than we had consoles on the floor. Good memories...

We too recently got that Super Game Boy controller from Japan. It works like a charm! :) And yes, you can "save" your color palett changes in the Super Game Boy, via password creation. We just got the Super Game Boy guide last week, and there are passwords listed for certain suggested changes for some of the main games.
