I can't believe anyone could have anything good at all to say about Abilene. A small town in the middle of nowhere. The most rude and cliquish people I've ever met. They think they are better than everyone else and are snobs. The roads are terrible. I cannot wait to get out of Abilene. There is nothing here. Most people who speak well of Abilene are from Abilene and don't know there's a whole amazing world out there. There are a small handful of precious kind souls and I pray for them to get out
I live in Hawley and work in Abilene. Go ahead and try out something else. I moved back to Abilene in 2002 after living in Dallas and Euless for 10 years. I love Abilene and I love Hawley.
they say the same about the weather changing everywhere. East Texas isn't as dry, and you get 80 to 100 miles north of Beaumont there is a lot less people and they are nice. I'm happy without the night life.

It is a trade off. Low crime rate in Abilene, Texas. Put your stick and bag on the end of it and pick up and move to Dallas. Or Houston, San Antonio. New York, LA, Chicago or Miami. Rape , murder, theft, home invasions. A very large percentage of the people in Abilene and the surrounding towns are armed. That is one thing Tonya Harding did not mention. Abilene people take care of each other. Our neighbors.

I'd say at least 1/4 of the population is living in poverty and there's not really any great paying jobs available. avoid this dump like the plague. I'd rather be back in San Diego than here.

Where are they from found plenty of hiking and biking there Abilene State PArk Brownwood state park Go out. To Ft Phantom when I lived there erode our bikes everywhere
