I'm living just about 300 m away from Alexi's grave, just another side of Lahdenväylä and I can almost see the grave from our corridor. Dropping candle every now and then there. RIP Alexi.
Every time I think about it, I still can't fully process that he's gone. I never understood why people missed musicians, who they sometimes never even got to see live... Until I've learned of Alexi's passing. Thank you for that video May Wildchild rest in peace
Sometimes music can influence people in different ways, and sometimes music or specific bands/songs can mark a meaning in our lives. Of all of my most favorite bands and biggest influences to pick up a guitar, Laiho's passing hit me immensely. Sometimes I go to shows and ppl judge me or question me if I try to get a guitar pick from a specific person, but to me it has a deeper meaning, like a very deep connection. At least I was able to see CoB live once in my life, but even now I still regret that, and I can barely listen to CoB without feeling like shit. CoB marked a part of my life, especially during hard times. Sometimes you understand things when you go through them, just like depression.
Best guitarist and song writer to walk this Earth. Alexi's music got me through a lot of rough times in my life. It will never sink in on me that he is gone. Thank you for this. Much love to you and his family.
He was the Chuck schuldiner that us can't live i can't go to see CoB in my country for my age and lack of Money always be pain in my heart can't see a Alexi one of the best sherdress of my generation
My grandson was a great fan of Children of Bodom. He died because of cancer in brain in age 18 in April 2021. Hope he plays with Alexi in metal- heaben.
All those candles lit on the snowy ground are so beautiful, and touching. Alexi is my favorite songwriter/guitarist and I’m sad that I never got to see him live or meet him and tell him how much his music means to me. R.I.P. Thank you for this video.
Really loving the gesture of leaving the candle to the lake too. Why it teared me up, I have no idea but it did. When I heard the news through the radio I didn't believe it at first. I had to google... And then contemplate what I had just heard and read. Just weeks prior I had found 4 CoB albums from the flea market I worked at the time for dirt cheap (and the albums were in pristine condition); first 3 and Blooddrunk. That really struck me after I realized it some time after hearing the news. And I had also just read Anssi Kippo's stories from the recording sessions of the first 2 albums. CoB was my fav band when I was a teen in the turn of the millennium and the 2nd band that lead me into metal music. After I found those albums from the flea market CoB has been in rotation again after 20 years, and now I'm old enough to really appreciate how great Alexi was writing music, the songs indeed are stellar. It really saddens me that his new project never got the proper chance to lift off the ground. It's clear that his songwriting was still as sharp as ever. Thank you for the video. And thank you Alexi for the music that keeps on giving until the world goes black. You will never be forgotten!
Goosebumps. You can feel there's something mysterious about Lake Bodom. And I understand young boys, highly inspired by that place, starting COB and singing songs about the lake and the Reaper. It has something special and appealing, just like Stephen King's stories. When you read them, they resonate with you, your childhood and it's almost reading about yourself as if you were one of the main characters. Thank you for this video. It was very sad at the end to see Alexi lying there... He was and still is my inspiration.
Wow that hit fkkin harder than I thought it would Thanks for this video. It sucks that for the most part all we have is music an when people pass like this it's hard to continue seeing the bright side of things. Felt like I related to him to a degree I'd always get the revolver or terrorizer magazines back in the day an they were in em alot. Had a few of his signature guitars but had to sell em to pay bills. Regret the hell outta that. My first concert,an second, was seeing them. I broke my ribs in the pit an was crowsurfed out to Blood drunk, still the best moment of my life Rip Alexi
Thx for sharing this video from Lake Bodom and from Alexi's grave. ♥It was Angels Don't Kill that made a Bodom fan in the autumn 2011. Now I'm age 63 and still I love the Bodom songs so much! ♥🤘
I didn't realize how badly I needed to see this. It's been a couple years now and it hasn't fully hit home. COB got me through so many hard times. I'm sure it's the same for so many of you. I never got so see them live, never got to buy merch after the show. It's a regret I will carry. Alexi, the blackest of hearts, the WIldchild, a musical warlock. My shredding inspiration. I miss you. We all do brother..
Thank you so mutch, miss Alexi so mutch and i am still hearthbroken, can't belive he is gone, listen too COB and Bodom After Midnight and still cryes💔❤🤟🇳🇴 See you on the other side Alexi❤❤
Thank you for this. I've always wanted to see them again live but never had the chance and now my hero is gone. Gone, but not forgotten. Finland is a "bucket list" place to go to for me so I hope in my life I'll make it and have the fortune of paying respects in person. R.I.P Alexi, you were always an inspiration to me and always there for me through your music during my life.
I'm so grateful that you posted this!!! I plan to fly to Finland, as soon as it's possible, to pay my respects too. This video gives me an idea of what it will be like trying to find his resting place. A million thank yous! RIP Aleksi xxx
Thank you so much! It was really hard to watch, too much sorrow in heart, and still can`t beleive that he is gone. Alexi Laiho was very TALANTED and great MUSICIAN! He was the LEGEND! I`ve decided learning to play on guitar because of him. He will be never forgotten! Rest in peace Alexi.
I grew up having a massive crush on Alexi Laiho. I bought like 7 of his guitars and I got him to sign my Pink Sawtooth when COB played live in Edmonton. Learned to play almost all of the COB songs. Very sad that he is gone too soon...the world has lost another legend before his time. Somewhere Alexi Laiho and Chuck Schuldiner are jamming and creating riffs that are too epic for mortal ears.
he's actually spending time with Trevor Strnad "on the otherside". writing songs together, pitching ideas back & forth... against the backdrop of a lake cottage. with lots of booze, apparently. 🤔💁🏻♀️🥃
I just can't believe he's gone, he influenced not just me, but a lot of people of different generations. We will never forget you Allu, thank you for everything. 🖤🤘😢
Thank you very much for sharing this video with all of us. I totally second the words of a lad who said here he didn’t knew how much he needed this. So did I. Rest in power, Alexi
I still can't believe it, either. I was able to listen to them again a few days ago but I don't want to watch live videos, or listen to Bodom After Midnight.
As a angry teenager, I used to listen to CoB a lot. It was my first foray into Metal music. Always wished to see Alexi once live anyway possible. I never met him, but wish if I had some day, might have shared a laugh or two, holded his legendary guitar 🎸, or a drink 🍻. But now all these aren't possible. Anyways I hope he is at peace 🕊️. RIP Legend. Gone but never forgotten.
I went to the COB concert here in El Salvador in 2011 and after knowing of he passing away in 2020 idk why but I couldn't dimension his loss until now, I'm crying while watching this video and the feeling of soreness and pain is huge 😪 fuck everything I just want to cry forever
This was beautiful! I'm sure he is out there... Probably shredding his now angelic guitar and drinking with the other gods of rock/metal that left us inspired by their legacies... \,,/
Thanks so much for this! If I'll ever be there, I'll sure as hell lit a candle and drop my pick for him, but as for now, this is my only way to experience it...
His magical riffs are forever echoing deep in my heart. Wondrous Aleksi, let rip out your wings of freedom, you were so badly longing for all your life. There, where your spirit feeds, on the shores of Lake Bodom, I’ll come to worship you, embracing Finland, the land of my dreams. May your spirit be filled with infinity ♾ ✨✨✨✨✨🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹

Thank you so much for this. Those of us who loved him and his music, but can't make it to Finland appreciate the video tour!
Thank you! I made this video exactly for this purpose so I’m happy that you appreciate it. Hopefully one day you’ll be able to visit there too. 🙏
Yep, this is awesome, thanks for sharing that, COB pretty much defined my teenage years throughout. Alexi will always be a legend
I'm living just about 300 m away from Alexi's grave, just another side of Lahdenväylä and I can almost see the grave from our corridor. Dropping candle every now and then there. RIP Alexi.
If what we see in the video still happens, can you please remove the sprays from the burning candles' area, maybe leave a note? That's quite unsafe.
If it's not an inconvenience for you can you leave an additional candle on my behalf the next time you visit?
Hi. In 2 weeks time. I'll be there. Can i ask you to meet up and show me around some nice places?
Can you add coordinates from google maps, as i am planing to visit. I am 3000 km away from ginland and it wpuld be nice if i had the exact location...
