      Pete carrol is an amazing and accomplished coach. however his down fall has been questionable calls when the game is on the line. Idk man maybe he just gets in his own way like he over thinks,second guesses, or flat out ignores logic and instinct. had pete not called the t.o. and won that game along with electing to run the ball in sb49 it would have been cool to see the first 3pete sb champs.

    Man 2012 was the year we should've went to the SB. I was at both playoff games and that whole season the Falcons would give me a heart attack because they would blow big leads. I have a feeling this year's team will be better than in 2012.

    Something I've noticed with this Falcons' defense and Quinn's defense. 2012 Falcons D NEVER rotated their dlinemen. No wonder they couldn't pressure Wilson, they were gassed by the 2nd quarter. Quinn likes to rotate all of his dlinemen to keep them fresh. Unfortunately they just don't have the talent to get sacks, hopefully that improves with Beasley getting better and Freeney.

    RW3 held a stigma back then of being a game manager gravy-trainer riding their great defense and run game to Super Bowls. This game should have dispelled that myth from the start. The defense wasn't on it every game. And every time that happened, Russ carried them. Dynamic playmakers are not game managers and Russ had the dynamic playmaking ability even as a rookie. Russ didn't put up huge numbers because they had a low volume passing game back then. But it wasn't because Russ was a liability. It was because pound and ground with defense was their philosophy.

    Read an article earlier this season about Matt's offseason training. Very little known is the private QB gurus like Tom House and others that Brady, Rodgers, Brees have been working with for years. It's so apparent the difference in Matt this year after his work with Tom House. Matt changed his throwing approach to simply throwing to open areas and not to expected positions. The turnover difference is proof of this. Love these little discussed topics rarely brought up on the talk shows.

I can’t help but feel like if only they had gone back to Romo, they would’ve been able to beat the Pack that year. Can you explain this to me? When Julio Jones intercepts the ball, no one touches him and he dropped the ball on purpose. If a Seattle player picked it up and started celebrating like a touchdown, would it have been considered one? Julio Jones did go to the ground but he wasn’t touched and only by context would you say that he gave himself up. Whistle?
    I’m not a Seattle fan. I was just wondering. There is no separate rule for Hail Marys I don’t believe.

    I am a falcons fan and Pete Carroll wasn't upset about the timeout, he was upset because free kicks after the timeout wasn't supposed to happen during the game, there was a free game *forgot which game to be exact* but they were charged a 10-15 yard penalty for it. It has nothing at all to do with the timeout, it had to do with the free kick. And I am a falcons fan as I stated before.

      khpitbos17 Agreed, the only team in 2012 to have a shot verse them was San Francisco and possibly Denver. But who knows considering Joe Flucco was playing like Joe Montana in the playoffs that year. Literally the Hawks going into the playoffs in each year since 2012 were playing like the best team in the league and the stats back it up (having the highest DVOA at the end of the year EVERY year since 2012)

      The Falcons were better than the garbage Shehawks and the Niners. Just because you refuse to acknowledge that FACT, doesn't mean it's any less of a fact.

    • @emssasukeisunderrated7946
      @emssasukeisunderrated7946 7 лет назад

      TimWorst IsTheBest Except by the numbers they weren't and even eye test they weren't which isn't a bad thing. The Seahawks and the Niners were the two best teams in football in both 2012 and 2013. Other than Denver in both seasons, no one else was in that discussion. Still, the better team does not always win and the Falcons were a great team. Not the best, but great nonetheless

    • @emssasukeisunderrated7946
      @emssasukeisunderrated7946 7 лет назад

      TimWorst IsTheBest First, like I said to finish off my post, the better team does not always win. If that was the case, most teams with the top seed would be winning the SB (while majority usually do, that's always not the case in football). If this were the case, the 87 Niners, 01 Rams, 06 Chargers, 07 Pats, 2011 Packers should have won the SB but it's not always the case. Also, just to be clear, the Niners did come back and win that game right? So that argument you're using for this (by just looking at half the game, not the complete game) isn't valid, much less a dumb argument to make.
