The reason why Chai's voice actually sounds natural, it's because he has the same VA as Akechi from Persona 5, Robbie Daymond is a master at dubbing weird japanese stuff

pretty sure that the game was originally dubbed in English anyway. It's not as weird as it sounds.
Weird how? the script is very western influenced given the director is western but everything else is top tier japanese dev work.
Melded together without bad Japanese dialogue which outside of Japan or similar Asian cultures seems very odd to everyone else

I just rewatched Edgerunners, so hearing "robot enhancements" and seeing a happy protagonist travelling through the city triggered my PTSD. I understand why they’re called studio trigger now

It’s insane they got this many GOD tier voice actors for a passion project:
They got Robbie to voice Chai (you might know him for his role as Akechi in Persona 5, also if you haven’t played that game yet your missing out BIG time. Game is a masterpiece)
Roger as Kale (He’s also Mirage in apex, Sonic in like an entire decade’s worth of franchise work. Captain America in some animated marvel TV shows. That one guy in Naruto that Likes art. Chris redfield in some older Resident Evil projects. The man is a living legend to say the least.)
Then the guy they got to do Zanzo is also pretty big time, I actually don’t know his name but I recognized his voice pretty quickly for his role was Teruteru in Danganronpa 2 and Kiyo in Danganronpa 3 (that whole franchise is an actual masterpiece btw, obviously the games are like 50% dialogue but the story and character design is GOD. TIER.)
Also petition to make Zanzo one of the best antagonists in all video game history? Literally deserves several awards in my opinion.

Zanzo is voiced by todd Haberkorn, who also just so happened to voice Ungalo from JoJo part 6.

One really funny detail is streamer mode changes the music to royalty free - the black keys track at the beginning is replaced with a "totally not lonely boy" alternate version
I missed the face reveal back then but the protagonist is somehow what I think punch looks like

at 42:00, i think the game auto calibrates as you play the game, hence why the timing feels like it changes. rhythm heaven does this too with its tutorials
Watching punch totally ignore the prompt to do a special attack on the first boss is hurting me all over every time he ignores it
And people wondered why this was the better game that came out compared to forsaken lol

This kinda feels like persona is a bit incorporated with the text boxes and I guess the part where you get to know about peppermint.

Bro this played on auto play while I was asleep and I woke up to the robot saying “Chai is it?” And I thought it said “Jye is it” I woke up so excited a character had my name but I was disappointed 😔

This is such and amazing game and it’s combat solves the problem of its genre just boring spamming square like in the Arkham games
I mean that's because it's a character action game not a masher like the Arkham games. DMC and Bayonetta are peak of the genre about flashy combat.
