Welcome to, arguably, the best metal band in the world today. The lady who shuffles from piano to lead guitar and back to the piano is Miyako. She is a musical genius/prodigy who plays guitar, piano/keyboards, the bass and the drums, and she also composes and arranges about half of Lovebites' discography of around 60 songs. Haruna is the drummer and she's a beast who can double paddle at these speeds for a nearly 2-hour LIVE concert. Asami is the powerful yet melodic vocalist whose mid-to-high vocals can cut above Lovebites' fast-paced and heavy riffs and licks with ease. Midori is the other lead guitarist whom we call "the crazy shredder". Miho is the bass player in this video but she left the band back in 2021 and she has now been replaced by another phenomenal bass player called Fami. BTW, Frédéric Chopin (pronounced "Show-pan") is a Polish classical composer from the Romantic era (1800's). Miyako, who is a classically trained pianist, was inspired by Chopin's Étude Op. 10, No. 12 (also known as the "Revolutionary Étude") when she composed and arranged Swan Song.
I've only ever loved two bands. The first being Megadeth who I discovered in 92. The second being Lovebites in 2020, after foolishly avoiding them based on their appearance. The joke's on me...as I've fallen completely under their spell 🐺
@@zeplica2004 Haha, I see what you did with your screen name. Nice! For whatever reason, I never went down the heavy metal road of the "Big 4." I went more towards Def Leopard and Van Halen. I guess more main stream. And some Queensryche. It was weird, I was just not exposed to it. So I never listened to Metallica much until the Black Album. And then I quickly liked Megadeath more. And Dream Theater is even more odd for me. I pretty much never heard of them until around 1999. And I freaking live on Long Island within an hours drive of where most of them are from. How I discovered them was driving home late at night from my gf's house they would play this group Symphony "X" that I liked. Then they said if you like Symphony "X" you should try DT. When I did I quickly forgot all about Symphony "X"
That was actually his TV show, Rock Fujiyama. It lasted for 6 seasons. He’s such a big TV star in Japan that the headlines about his Megadeth reunion had to explain that he’s also a musician 😂
These ladies are ultra-talented. For a contrast to this song, I would suggest Break The Wall live from this concert as well. This band kicks serious ass.
Welcome to the party guys... Over 60 songs for you with these beautiful, tallented ladies.. They don't have a bad song, so enjoy the ride.. Here are a few more Japanese all female bands for you.. If you dare.. Lovebites is best metal band in the world right now. They play heavy metal, power metal, thrash, rock, ballads and all of it sounds outstanding live. They have production, talent, live perfomance, complex songs, and all of it in high level. Power of Miyako is limitless, its a fact. You ait see nothing yet!

The beginning is Chopin's Revolutionary Etude, Op.10 no.12 in C minor. She also quoted the same piece at the beginning of her guitar solo. I absolutely love Chopin. Lovebites' style (obviously) is very classically informed, although that is common in power metal. They are just amazing. I've loved everything I've heard from them.
There’s a lot to unpack with LOVEBITES. In fact, Wikipedia has it wrong- they missed an EP!! Anyway- there was a self-titled EP featuring Miho (bass), Haruna (drums), Asami (vocals) and Midori (guitar), then they met Miyako (piano, guitar), and released the first album, “Awakening From Abyss.” That was 2017. In 2018, they released “Battle For Damnation” EP, and “Clockwork Immortality” album. In 2020, “Electric Pentagram” was released, and “Golden Destination” I call the last one an EP, but Wiki calls it a single. “Glory To The World” EP was released in 2021, and “Judgement Day” album was released in 2023. That covers it aside of the concert albums, and greatest hits compilations. When I say it is difficult to find a song that you don’t like- you’ll just have to find that out yourself. Miho left the band, and now they have Fami as a bassist. Although “Judgment Day” has some heavy bass intros to some songs- I don’t think we’ve seen what Fami is capable of. Miyako and Asami write most of the music and lyrics for the band, but Midori, Miho, and Haruna are credited with writing some songs. The band has also done several songs written by composer Mau, listed as ‘friend’ of the band, known from his time as keyboardist with LIGHTBRINGER and FUKI. There are a lot of really good Japanese Metal bands, and some of them have been around for a very long time. Some American metal pales in comparison IMO. I’ve been getting into “Head Phones President” recently, although some of my favorite songs are not available on YT, Anza (vocalist) sings in English as well, and is backed up by some very talented guys, but HPP is not Lovebites- more NuMetal, hard rock.
Well, you’ve just witnessed greatness. This metal band is just mind-blowing. In an interview, Miho (ex bassist and founder of the band) said that they wanted to play as heavy as men but keeping their femininity. Some people say that they’re breaking the walls of stereotypes in the metal scene. They really shine in their live performances.
Welcome to the world of Lovebites...the best heavy metal band existing on planet earth 🌏. Miho the bassist is the leader and the soul of the band. The real metal head and lyricist and composer of 30 % of their songs . She was responsible for the type of music they play. Along with Haruna ..the best metal drummer I have ever seen or heard ..they were the best rhythm section in metal. Up front in Miyako and Midori we have the best guitar duo since a long time. Asami with her high octaves and graceful presence makes Lovebites a complete band. Glory to Lovebites 🤘 🐺 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
If by "greatest", you mean the most musically talented, then the answer is "yes". But if you mean "most successful", then not even close (which is sad considering the talent they have). I'd go as far to say that they are the most musically talented hard music band on the planet. I challenge anyone to name another hard music band that could play this song? You should check out some of their thrash songs as well. Musically, their thrash songs are better than anything written by Slayer or Anthrax.
The Chopin piece performed by Miyako (guitar/keyboard) as the intro is "Etude OP10, No12", known as "Revolution Etude" In 1831, an uprising of some officers and civilians against the Polish government under the de facto control of the Russian Empire, dubbed the "November Revolution", failed due to the direct intervention of Russian forces. Chopin is informed of this news during his travels. he lost his place to return to. When the Russian army invaded Warsaw, Chopin's agents released "Etude OP10, No.12" in Paris. People called it a "revolutionary etude" because of the agent's exaggerated promotion of the song. Miyako composed "SwanSong" with reference to this "revolutionary etude" and Dvorak's "New World Symphony". Former ballerina Asami (vocals) wrote a poem inspired by Norse mythology and "Swan Lake" based on the historical background of "Revolutionary Etude". "SwanSong" is a requiem dedicated to the warriors who fought to reclaim fatherland, a masterpiece that only LOVEBITES can complete. LB's songs will give you new discoveries and surprises for each song.
Chopin's (Shoh -pan) Revolutionary Etude is the piece Miyako is playing in the intro, from memory, before switching to guitar. Asami on vocals, Midori on guitar, Miho on bass here, and Haruna on drums. Miho left in 2021, replace by Fami last October. Some songs lean toward power metal, while others are more towards thrash. And some ballads. Formed in 2016, they named the band after the Grammy winning Halestorm song, Love Bites (So Do I). Asami has been on stage with Lzzy and the guys performing that song(at 2019 Download). For more, try Holy War, Thunder Vengence, Set the World on Fire, or Break the Wall. Or, to see Fami, the first 2 videos from the new album, Judgement Day, the title track and Stand And Deliver (Shoot 'em Down). The wear the dresses often, but the video for Stand and Deliver shows them in regular clothes in the studio. All are between 4'9" and 5'2"
Interesting that he had you be introduced to LoveBites with Swan Song, instead of a song that is normally their introduction/gateway to them, like Shadowmaker or Holy War. But as you can see, they not only do power metal, in the frame of Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Helloween, etc., but can and do go much harder, to the point where they make Slayer proud as they can thrash just as hard as them. One thing about these ladies is that you will for the most always see them wearing white while performing. That is for two reasons: 1. They are being metal to the typical metal, especially to what metal is in Japan. If you look for any video on "visual kei", that is what metal is in Japan. they are being the exact opposite of that, in saying that they love to play metal, but also love going around carrying their purse or accessories they just picked up from Gucci or Versace. Besides, no one else can say that they thrown down better than most male bands, and throw down in heels. 2. They can be seen. At the time of this show in the clip, the tallest lady in the band is Miyako (the guitarist/pianist), at 5ft, if not 5ft. 2in. The shortest is Haruna (drums), at 4ft. 8in! If they wore typical black, they'd get swallowed up by the risers and everything else on stage because all of that is black. So they wear white so your eyes are always on them, as they are being seen. If you're going down into the LoveBites world, I'd say go straight in. Your next song should be one of these, all from their show at Zepp DiverCity, in Tokyo: Holy War Thunder Vengeance Break The Wall The Awakening/Hammer of Wrath Then go into their newer work, as their founding member/bassist, Miho, left the band, and a new bassist joined, in Fami. Judgement Day, and Stand and Deliver (Shoot 'em Down) are next. But this should definitely get you started.
Excellent welcome to the world of J Metal. Lovebites Drummer Haruna and Bassist Miho were former members of a band called Destrose. They and Aldious were thr start of the 2nd Gen female Metal bands. Find Gen was Show Ya from the 1980s. Destrose former members went on to form Mary's Blood. Fate Gear. Disqualia, Nemophilia and Mardelas. Bur now that you've done Lovebites Now do Aldious We Are the music video. Also I see Slayer. Lovebites most Slayer style guitar playing is the song Winds of Transylvania. Which was written as the theme song to an Anime called Vlad Love. There are 2 music videos of this song. One has clips of this anime playing during the song.
Re. Chopin: Read on, explanation below. You just found the best new metal band to come along in decades, male or female. In their first five years of existence, they put themselves on par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. They recently went on a year-and-a half hiatus while they searched for a new bassist. They announced the new bassist in October 2022 (see below) and dropped their first new song on December 22. Their new album, “Judgement Day”, was released two months later. Some background: They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and founder of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the great European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other groups. The four of them then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she was also trained in ballet). Miyako has composed a little more than half of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics and is also getting involved in composing. Chopin (pronounced Show-pan) was a Polish-born Romantic-era (1800’s) classical composer and piano virtuoso who lived most of his life in France. He is considered one of the great classical composers, specializing in highly technical works for piano. Miyako, who composes a lot of Lovebites’ music, is a professional-level concert pianist, and was originally going to make classical music her career. When she was 18, she picked up a guitar, and is now (quite obviously) an elite-level guitarist. She particularly likes the Romantic Era classical composers like Debussy, Dvořák and Chopin, as well as the Russian romantic composer Rachmaninoff. She composed “Swan Song” using elements of the New World Symphony (Dvořák) and Chopin’s Revolutionary Etude (official name Étude Opus 10, No. 12 in C minor). For this performance, she actually played the Etude as a prelude, but it’s not normally included in their shows. In mid-2021, Miho left the band she had founded, for personal reasons. They went on hiatus while they searched for a new bassist, and during that time, two of them had babies, even as the band were writing and rehearsing their new album. They recently announced the new bassist, Fami, who is a young phenom and herself a composer and multi-instrumentalist. Their first song with Fami is “Judgement Day” ruclips.net/video/m3uGjp-P7DI/видео.html The instrumentalists studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Helloween, Slayer etc. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and have created a sound that is fresh and cutting edge while paying tribute to the old masters. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance was that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash. Almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel (though she can also shred like crazy). Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. As another reviewer said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band." Here are more clips you should check out: “Set the World on Fire” ruclips.net/video/99zsH6iG_6c/видео.html from their 2021 concert DVD “Heavy Metal Never Dies”. “Don’t Bite the Dust” ruclips.net/video/oHnKGEj1CMc/видео.html, from the same concert; "Edge of the World" and "We the United", back to back: ruclips.net/video/sl0-U-ykJCU/видео.html They form an incredible journey from darkness and despair to light and hope. Also, “Empty Daydream”, which starts as a ballad and becomes a real rocker: ruclips.net/video/lXh_uMM94jU/видео.html; Perhaps their greatest masterpiece, a showcase of multi-instrumental virtuosity and even classical dance “A Frozen Serenade” ruclips.net/video/Ae8pQVu-RN8/видео.html; And their most reacted-to video, “Holy War”: ruclips.net/video/bgAxpEpEcno/видео.html For a thrasher with heavy Slayer and Metallica vibes, “Break the Wall” ruclips.net/video/5Pc0XK0lNmU/видео.html includes two gorgeous and completely contrasting solos by M&M. For a heart-stopping ballad, “Epilogue” ruclips.net/video/1ynnXDfEnnY/видео.html (this includes a second song, your choice whether or not to react to both) While you will sometimes hear you should only react to live clips, actually their MV’s are epic and worth seeing. Here are four of the most spectacular: "Shadowmaker" ruclips.net/video/Brmoln5Gxus/видео.html This is the song that blew up and melted faces all over the world "When Destinies Align" ruclips.net/video/hLFelI93VkM/видео.html "Glory to the World" ruclips.net/video/-wJtD2XEXH4/видео.html "Winds of Transylvania" ruclips.net/video/HsE4Ub_Pjh8/видео.html. Finally, the audio tracks of some of the new album are up on youtube, and worth checking out. The band clearly came out swinging and wanted to make a statement. Every song on the album is a showcase of their incredible talent and songwriting capabilities. “Stand and Deliver” is a thrasher with a fun video of them in the studio. “Soldier Stands Solitarily”, the final song on the album, is being touted by some as the best thing they’ve done so far-I encourage you to see and decide for yourself! You'll get lots of suggestions, just one thing: don't bother with Bloodstock footage, the sound quality is poor. Best to take suggestions with actual links. Also, you can’t go wrong with any of their official clips. Welcome to the Wolf-Pack!
Miho the bassist and Haruna the drummer both came from the band Destrose. Haruna uses the same drum kit in that band. so she brought it over to lovebites. both are the founding members of lovebites. but Miho left the band because of personal reasons. they have a new bassist now named Fami.
Yes they are the Greatest All Female band too this date imo. And thats all genre's. Why? Each musician is Professor level at their instrument, they play and write music that reaches a broad spectrum of Rock,Metal and Classics. And another thing is the Quality of their Visual and Sound productions. Well thought out and Pure Class in Every regard. Chopin = Show Pan btw.
Are they the best female band of all time, yes, are they also one of the top 5 heavy mental bands of all time. yes. All Glory to LOVEBITES and all my brothers and sisters in The Wolf Pack everywhere.
Great analysis folks, please continue with Lovebites. These ladies are world class talents and they deserve worldwide recognition. They have no peer and no bad song.
The bassist left the band. They took a year off looking for a replacement didn’t think they find one as good. Then they found Fami on the internet. Fami does things on a bass I’ve never seen before she is unbelievably good check out Judgement day and Stand and Deliver.
They didn’t really “find her on the internet”. Yes Fami has an established solo RUclips channel but was on her own hiatus at the time, considering her own future and hadn’t uploaded anything for months. She applied through the bassist audition process, and was interviewed and tried out just like everybody else 😁
Glad a Patreon of yours has good taste. A correction, the piano intro Choplin is pronounced Show - Pan. The intro played by Miyako was a Choplin piece and the outro was one that she composed. You have just scratched the surface of the talented band. Background of band members Asami, the singer, comes from a R&B and soul music background and likes artists such as Alicia Keys and Aretha Franklin. Starting at the age of two, she performed classical ballet for about 16 years before moving to America after high school to study jazz and hip-hop dance. She later found her path to becoming a singer when she came back to Japan and started as a touring back-up vocalist for Japanese top artists such as VAMPS and UVERworld, and has been support chorus for other artists. Miyako, guitar, piano, backing vocals, has played classical piano since she was three and guitar since high school. Having grown up listening to classic rock bands like Deep Purple and Rainbow with her mother, Miyako ended up being very influenced by Ritchie Blackmore. But she has also been influenced by more modern guitarists, such as Timothy Henson and Scott LePage from Polyphia. It was Disarmonia Mundi’s Ettore Rigotti who inspired Miyako to start composing and arranging songs. Midori, guitar and backing vocals, started to learn piano at around two years of age and electric organ at eight, but gave up both upon entering university and started to learn guitar at 20. She is a graduate of Musicians Institute Japan in Osaka, and listed Kiko Loureiro, Nuno Bettencourt and Yngwie Malmsteen as her biggest guitar influences. Generally speaking, Midori said that she plays the “flashy and aggressive” guitar solos in the band, while Miyako plays the “slower, more melodic” ones. Haruna has played drums since she was thirteen years old, and began writing songs on a keyboard at fourteen. From elementary school up to high school her favorite band was B’z, but she became interested in heavy metal after hearing Helloween’s Master of the Rings. As a result, she stated her basic drumming style is that of Uli Kusch. She met Miho and play drums in Destrose, another all-female metal band that disbanded in 2015. Fami, bass player and new member, is a 20-year-old bass player from Japan. She has produced a solo album, writing all the music and lyrics, and is experienced in expressing herself as an artist. Her RUclips channel boasts around 650k subscribers and over 58 million views, which she started making content for while she was still in high school. Miho, former bass player and co-founding member. Lovebites was formed in Tokyo in 2016 by bassist Miho and drummer Haruna. The two met while members of Destrose, another all-female metal band that disbanded in 2015. Miho has been strongly into hard rock and heavy metal since junior high, and started playing bass in high school. Her favorite bands are Iron Maiden, Pantera, Mötley Crüe and Anthrax. She referred to her playing as more showmanship than technical, and cited Steve Harris as a particular influence alongside the style of Nikki Sixx.
Welcome to Lovebites… nice reaction… I saw the lady wearing a Slayer t-shirt… next song for you then should be “Break the Wall” Live at Zepp Diver City Tokyo 2020…
This song is from the "Five Of A Kind - Live In Tokyo 2020" held by LOVEBITES at Zepp DiverCity Tokyo on February 21, 2020. Available in digital, cd, dvd and blu ray format. Please subscribe to their channel (if you haven't): ruclips.net/channel/UC90wxogt_sQrP0Os0HT-xuw The setlist is: 1.Thunder Vengeance 2.Holy War 3.Don’t Bite The Dust 4.Rising 5.Raise Some Hell 6.Break The Wall 7.Shadowmaker 8.Piano Solo (Etude Op.10, No.12) 9.Swan Song 10.Addicted 11.Dancing With The Devil 12.Signs Of Deliverance 13.M.D.O. 14.Golden Destination 15.When Destinies Align Encore. 16.The Awakening 17.The Hammer Of Wrath 18.Edge Of The World 19.We The United
I'm glad that you pointed out their bassist Miho, particularly in this song, because she keeps the tempo on together with the drummer Haruna. Of course all them shine all the time for me... My suggestion to you, because that Slayer t-shirt, Break the Wall live at Zepp Diver City Tokyo 2020.
I have just found your channel and hope for a deep-dive into this amazing band. You'll find they pay hommage to the best of 80s metal with modern twists and range from ballads to power metal to pure thrash that reminds you of the best of early Metallica or Testament. They don't allow for being put in a box or genre, but dip their toes in all of them. I don't think you'll be disappointed in their discography. I recommend live since their albums tend to be a bit over produced for my taste, but live they don't have many peers. Their latest album is faster, harder and their best to date and was released in February.
Aldious which got together in 2008 also has a guitarist that plays piano. On several acoustic versions of their songs. This is why people often compare these 2 bands.
Great reaction. There are more differences between Babymetal and Lovebites. Lovebites is natural born band that the musicians found each other but Babymetal is corporation fabricated band. Lovebites write their songs by themselves, each member composes. I agree with Pinoy Power. Lovebites is not the best female band, but they are simply the best band in the entire history of metal. Revolutionary Etude as the introduction of Swan Song has special meaning. As you know the lyrics are about death of heroes, dedication and sacrifice, and honor and glory. Revolutionary etude is said to be written by Chopin in his desperation and anger when he knew the news that Polish cadets and followed by Polish people arose against Russian rule were defeated and failed (this story also said that it's been fabricated by a historian later). Hence Revolutionary Etude and Swan Song have the same theme. If you like to experience amazing exchange of the guitar duo, try their recent MV Judgement Day. It is tremendous. ruclips.net/video/m3uGjp-P7DI/видео.html
Many would say that Lovebites is the greatest band of all time regardless of gender. Others would say that Lovebites isn't even the greatest all-female band from Japan. Some would argue that Band-Maid or Nemophila are better. I say that it's all a matter of personal preference and that we're all fortunate to have these three bands to bless us with their abilities and beauty in the same era. Like when Britian was churning out bands such as Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, and Black Sabbath all at once.
You need to get down on bended knee to the person who recommended Lovebites to you. Whoever else you have or plan on reacting to, they will come a distant second to these ladies. Those who follow them do so with deep conviction and great enthusiasm because of how talented they are yet how relatively obscure they remain. I took my obsession so far that not only did I fly from the U.K. to Tokyo to see their long awaited return to live performances, but I even entered the lottery for tickets for the main tour show in Osaka in September, was successful, and will be going back to Japan. On my ten day visit I understand the band so much more than before. They epitomise the Japanese culture that they are a part of. Respectful, charming, cultured, hard working and though talented beyond belief, they are as good as they are because of dedication and hard work. At 63 I can tell you that, in all honesty, Lovebites outshine everything I have ever seen and heard before, and have relegated former idols such as Rush and Blackmore to the background. As exceptional as those musicians are/were, none played to this level so consistently, with no album fillers and had as much respect for their fans as Lovebites. They’re the best band of my lifetime.
Miyako, piano, guitar wrote and arranged the song, Asami, vocals wrote the lyrics. As you react to more Lovebites, listen closely to the drummer, Haruna!! She is one of the best drummers worldwide.
Lovebites is one of the best bands of all time period. World class talents. Their whole catalog of music is amazing. I love Babymetal but they’re not really the same thing. Japan has many fantastic bands, many of which happen to be all female.
im a fan of 70s and early 80's rock but in the last 20 years i turned into my father and started to listen to classical music. normally i would never listen to todays music cause i think they suck. only 2 current bands i would listen to now and they not so new. thats alter bridge and avenged 7x. what caught my eye was the revolutionary piano intro. so i decided to watch the rest of the video. i have to admit they are very talented
The answer to your question, from this old school metalhead, is a resounding YES! The virtuosic level of all the musicians aside, Asami is my favorite singer out there today. Her voice is so rich and emotional, and she doesn't overuse vibrato,(aka Fuki), which I'm sure she could. Yes, Bandmaid and Nemophila are great at what they do, but Lovebites is another level IMO. Great review, subbed.
Thank you for reaction to LOVEBITES. Great analysis. LOVEBITES has about 60 songs. Please continue the lovebites from now on. This is the first reaction video I have ever seen that mentions "The Legend of the Swan". Most of the reactors don't even know Chopin. Miyako(G-Key and Piano Black hair) is the composer of this piece. Miyako was classically trained in piano from the age of 3 to 18, so she sometimes fuses classical music with metal or draws inspiration from classical music in her compositions. As for guitar, Miyako has been self-taught since 18. Asami(Vo) Miyako(G - Key ‐ Piano Black hair) Midori(G) Haruna(Dr) Miho(Ba) First Bassist (Bassist of this song) New bassist from 'JUDGEMENT DAY' songs. Fami(Ba) New Bassist
Lovebites is an amazing group. I'm sure you'll get tons of recommendations for them. You can't go wrong. Another fantastic all-girl hard rock band (not metal) is Band Maid. If you watch them, go for their live versions. I recommend Domination, though you really can't go wrong with any of their songs (they go all over the place: hard rock, punk, some pop rock, a few metal songs, etc).
the answer to the first question is yes. the greatest female band of all time. there are others but LOVEBITES are the mt. rushmore of girl groups.if you continue with them you will find nothing but epic songs. 60 of them all self written. now they have overall become my favorite band ever. it would almost be impossible not to rank them in the 4 or 5 greatest bands of all time.
We love Lovebites!!! We love BABYMETAL!!!!! Lovebites are the greatest band of all time male or female!!!!! Music Japan are the best ever in the world!!🇯🇵💪🔥♥️🔥♥️ #LovebitesForever #BABYMETALForever #MusicJapanForever
Great yeah, but "greatest" would be a subjective thing, as fans that lean toward rock over metal would probably reserve the label for Band-Maid (yeah, female musicians from Japan are just killing it).
BabyMetal are an idol group. Lovebites are a heavy metal group. Major difference. Lovebites write their own songs (mostly) and have creative control and not idol contracts.
Yeah, BabyMetal kinda defies categorization, and calling it a "band" feels wrong. I think of it more as a type of Broadway/Stage musical act, and an awesome one at that.
I will classify BabyMetal as a performing troupe like Cirque du Soleil as opposed to a band per se, and I meant that as a compliment. They are unique. Even though their music will not make my playlist, I will still love to see them LIVE one of these days because they are amazing performers.
Yeah........WOW. Miyako is my favorite musician now, ever. A classically trained pianist who picked up a guitar in her late teens. Has composed around half of Lovebites catalog. Name me a band with a better collection of talent across the board today and yesterday.
I was just passing by and saw the thumbnail and title. I'll be back to watch the reaction later, but I will answer the burning question posed - they are 100% absolutely the greatest all-female band ever, and for me personally, simply the greatest band of all time, sweaty metal dudes included.
Oh well, Babymatal and Lovebites are complete different things. Don´t get me wrong Babymetal fans, those girls are talented and they have incredible musicians, but also they are a record label product. This have good and bad thing, like the fact that the members of the band are mere "workers" of the record label who do al the decisions. Lovebites it´s a "real band". They comes from the popular metal band "Destrose" (popular in Japan of course). Bass Miho and drummer Haruna were in this band, and after the separation of the band, those two make a new band. Some good bands have their roots in this band, like Mary´s Blood with Saki and Eye. Japan have a really big scene in rock and metal with girls from many years ago (from the 80th) and still have today a nice groups of bands and artists, most of them really talented. Lovebites have the peculiarity of sing in english, but there´s a lot more bands. Maybe Lovebites is of the best in their style, this power-trash metal with inspiration if the good old UK bads like Iron Maiden. But also you need to chek others, like Nemophila. A "super band" based is some of the better musicians of other bands (also only girls)
You 2 really need to check out this super high speed fast paced Japanese band described as Gothic Vampire Japanese Rock Metal Opera, called Yousei Teikoku and a song called Astral Dogma. The singer is YUI Atsuki with a wonderful voice and her awesome rapid fire musicians band behind her as they will truly knock your socks off!
Thank you for doing Lovebites. I'm a bit late to this reaction, and I see others already filled in all the important details about this band. Given the positive reaction, I guess I will propose some more Lovebites in the future.
I think it's high time to forget about that "all-girl" or "all-female" stuff - for me, when saying that, it's like saying they're in a different league, or even worse "second league "! No. They're one of the best metal bands nowadays, that's all.
You have 60 songs ahead of you and it will be a well worth trip down this rabbit hole. Lovebites play power/thrash/classic Metal. For a different side by them try with their most recent MV “Stand and Deliver (Shoot ‘em down)” m.ruclips.net/video/4ImGA7cPyrs/видео.html 🐺🤘🏻
There are rumours going around that the Ladies Of The Wolf (the wolf is the band's symbol) are working on plans for an American tour. Asami (vocals) has said that they wear the white and gold dresses because the stage is big and dark and they are small (Haruna, the drummer, is 4'9" and the rest aren't much taller) and they don't want the crowd to lose site of them. I have noticed over the years that the dresses also fit with the lyrics of their songs, which are overwelmingly positive. If you need a band that can pull you through hard times, you have found it. BTW - the pianist, Myako, Is an accomplished classical pianist who started studying it at age 3. She began playing guitar around age 18. She also plays bass and drums, and composes and arranges most of the music for the band. Asami was a trained R&B/Soul singer before joining Lovebites. This is her first metal band. She also plays piano, which you can see in a few live songs. Miho (bass, band founder) and Haruna (drums, co-founder) met in a band called Destrose (another killer female band) and put Lovebites together after Destrose folded. Midori (guitar) also started piano young but gave it up in high school. She picked up guitar and was in a couple bands before coming home. Sadly, Miho has left but after a hiatus and some serious auditions, the picked up a 20yo young lady named Fami who plays her bass as hard as the rest of the band play their own instruments. She is a fine fit.
Good reaction. The bass player & the drummer are the founders of this band. You should also check out these 2 bands, Nemophila and Hanabie. Great female metal bands, also from Japan.
They aren't just the greatest all-female heavy metal band, but they have the best female guitar duo🤘 Midori The Crazy Shredder & Miyako The Golden Touch 🔥
Miyako started playing piano at 3 years old and didn't even pick up guitar until she was 18. She's super talented and can play a number of different instruments. One thing I want to bring up about the singing is how hard it is for a native Japanese to pronounce English words fluently. In Japanese, the speech cadence is a lot more choppy and the grammar is structured differently. Japanese also doesn't have a natural sound where you flick your tongue across the roof of your mouth and front teeth, like in "luhh". Its not a natural motion and that's why a lot of times it comes out sounding like "ruhh". I say all that to point out how difficult it would be to speak these lyrics for a native Japanese person let alone belt them as beautifully as Asami did. This whole band is on a whole different level musically and all these ladies are 1st class musicians. They actually have a new bassist than the one in this and a lot of their other live videos. This bassist, Miho, was a founding member but left the band last year and Lovebites held an open audition for a replacement. The winner was a young musician named Fami who already had a large YT following for her bass videos. Fami is another prodigy musician and I would suggest you check out her bass cover of "Alien Alien". Its a poppy anime tune, but what will blow your minds are the skills Fami shows on bass. Think a frantic Steve Vai playing bass. Anyway here a link to it. The song has over 10M views with 7K+ comments and she recorded it when she was 16. Fami again is the new bassist for Lovebites but her full skill isn't close to being on display in the band ruclips.net/video/Q_UqztwYAOU/видео.html
Lovebites are quality and highly talented. However there are so many great Japanese all lady bands. "Greatest of all time" is purely subjective to each individual. I'll play it like Japanese bands play it. All Japanese lady metal bands are great. They are injecting life into a genre that big time record companies and radio stations are trying to destroy. Why pay a band money when you can just pay an individual artist or DJ. Leaves more money for the big guys to take. I'll support all Japanese lady metal bands and help them fight the fight. The "metal resistance" perhaps. NEMOPHILA, HANABIE and LOVEBITES are my 3 go too bands atm. There are just so many though and i hope you can get to some of the others too.
welcome to the wolfpack like your slayer shirt. next try break the wall live version. it has a slayer vibe to it. nice reaction and enjoy the ride. best metal band in the world right now. have a great day!!!!!
Not so fast, lol, here's Japan's "premier" female Rock band. The bad girls of Japanese Rock. Absolutely stunning. NEMOPHILA= 5-piece all-female SuperGroup. Hard/Heavy. World-class drum/bass duo; Twin shredders; True front person (clean/scream). ⭐【Raitei】MV ruclips.net/video/lh-dVLKP314/видео.html ⭐【Revive】MV ruclips.net/video/zmRmVc4u18w/видео.html ⭐【Rise】MV ruclips.net/video/rD3VMAm-9iA/видео.html
Well there are many great all female bands in Japan, where women dominate the music schools and the music scene, from Nemophila, Aldious, Gargaric Spin, Mary's Blood, Fate Gear, etc ... To our just experienced the leader of that pack. These women do Power, Thrash, prog, classical mixed with metal etc., There is nothing that this canydi and do it to perfection LIVE. Try Frozen Serenade or Break the Wall next, actual pick anything Live ( stay away from Bloodstock as the mix is awful to ). We fans, the Wolfpack can guarantee you that you will never be disappointed with this band.
In my opinion. they are the best all around metal
band period.
Right
Best and are unique.
yeah right, the band with most of the chorus sound like Helloween! at least Galneryus stay in Japanese Chord-progression with their song structure!
My two were Zeppelin and Dream Theater. Now there are three.
@@boki1693 mine were zeppelin and metallica but lovebites have gone to number 1 for me!!!!!
Marty Friedman appeared on a Japanese music show with Midori and Miyako and Kiko Loureiro is one of their favorite guitarists
💯👍💥🎸
good choice!
i concur good choice although any of their songs is a good choice
Welcome to the party guys... Over 60 songs for you with these beautiful, tallented ladies.. They don't have a bad song, so enjoy the ride..
Here are a few more Japanese all female bands for you.. If you dare..

Lovebites is best metal band in the world right now. They play heavy metal, power metal, thrash, rock, ballads and all of it sounds outstanding live. They have production, talent, live perfomance, complex songs, and all of it in high level. Power of Miyako is limitless, its a fact. You ait see nothing yet!

Your question: "The greatest all-female band of all time?"
My answer: "YES!"
Midori and Miyako are one the best guitar duo’s in Metal music today! 🎸🔥🎸🔥🤘
The singer Asami spent a few years in the US singing R & Band Soul.
Check out Edge of the World live Five of a Kind, to see her vocal range.
The Chopin piece performed by Miyako (guitar/keyboard) as the intro is "Etude OP10, No12", known as "Revolution Etude"
In 1831, an uprising of some officers and civilians against the Polish government under the de facto control of the Russian Empire, dubbed the "November Revolution", failed due to the direct intervention of Russian forces.
That is for two reasons:
Your next song should be one of these, all from their show at Zepp DiverCity, in Tokyo:
Holy War
Thunder Vengeance
Break The Wall
The Awakening/Hammer of Wrath
Then go into their newer work, as their founding member/bassist, Miho, left the band, and a new bassist joined, in Fami.
Bur now that you've done Lovebites
Now do Aldious We Are the music video.
Also I see Slayer. Lovebites most Slayer style guitar playing is the song Winds of Transylvania. Which was written as the theme song to an Anime called Vlad Love. There are 2 music videos of this song. One has clips of this anime playing during the song.
For you and your t-shirt with Slayer, the next song to react could be: Set the World on fire! Thank you.
LoveBites definitely the best, followed by Nemophila...HARUNA !!! HARUNA !!! HARUNA !!! 🤘🐺🤘
The star cymbals are Haruna's trademark.
If you watch any Destrose videos you'll see her spinning them.
The song "Epilogue" is one of the most beautiful songs in history. You're going to melt.
Thanks for your reaction , Lovebites other level of musicians , one of the best dual guitars solos , amazing , my fav Metal band .
Some background:
They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981).
Their first song with Fami is “Judgement Day” ruclips.net/video/m3uGjp-P7DI/видео.html
The instrumentalists studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Helloween, Slayer etc.
As another reviewer said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band."
Here are more clips you should check out:
“Set the World on Fire” ruclips.net/video/99zsH6iG_6c/видео.html from their 2021 concert DVD “Heavy Metal Never Dies”.
“Don’t Bite the Dust” ruclips.net/video/oHnKGEj1CMc/видео.html, from the same concert;
"Edge of the World" and "We the United", back to back: ruclips.net/video/sl0-U-ykJCU/видео.html They form an incredible journey from darkness and despair to light and hope.
Also, “Empty Daydream”, which starts as a ballad and becomes a real rocker: ruclips.net/video/lXh_uMM94jU/видео.html;
Perhaps their greatest masterpiece, a showcase of multi-instrumental virtuosity and even classical dance “A Frozen Serenade” ruclips.net/video/Ae8pQVu-RN8/видео.html;
And their most reacted-to video, “Holy War”: ruclips.net/video/bgAxpEpEcno/видео.html
For a thrasher with heavy Slayer and Metallica vibes, “Break the Wall” ruclips.net/video/5Pc0XK0lNmU/видео.html includes two gorgeous and completely contrasting solos by M&M.
For a heart-stopping ballad, “Epilogue” ruclips.net/video/1ynnXDfEnnY/видео.html (this includes a second song, your choice whether or not to react to both)
While you will sometimes hear you should only react to live clips, actually their MV’s are epic and worth seeing. Here are four of the most spectacular:
"Shadowmaker" ruclips.net/video/Brmoln5Gxus/видео.html
This is the song that blew up and melted faces all over the world
"When Destinies Align" ruclips.net/video/hLFelI93VkM/видео.html
"Glory to the World" ruclips.net/video/-wJtD2XEXH4/видео.html
"Winds of Transylvania" ruclips.net/video/HsE4Ub_Pjh8/видео.html.
🔥LOVEBITES🐺MASTERCLASS🔥Perfect Band👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻Great reaction🤘🏻🤘🏻
Yes they are the Greatest All Female band too this date imo. And thats all genre's. Why? Each musician is Professor level at their instrument, they play and write music that reaches a broad spectrum of Rock,Metal and Classics. And another thing is the Quality of their Visual and Sound productions. Well thought out and Pure Class in Every regard. Chopin = Show Pan btw.
LOVEBITES 🐺 INCREDIBLE.
Welcome to the beautiful world of metal music by Lovebites. Thats one of their masterpiece products. React more. Thanks guys🤘🤘👍👍
Goddesses of Metal touched two more souls !. They will amaze every time.. great reaction !
このバンドの素晴らしいは群を抜くと思う。
演奏力も歌唱力も断トツで最高です。
Background of band members
Asami, the singer, comes from a R&B and soul music background and likes artists such as Alicia Keys and Aretha Franklin.
Welcome to lovebites, thank you for doing this reaction to lovebites, for me, lovebites is the greatest, LOVEBITES ROCK

Enjoy the Live videos ,,, there are no bad tracks
I have just found your channel and hope for a deep-dive into this amazing band. You'll find they pay hommage to the best of 80s metal with modern twists and range from ballads to power metal to pure thrash that reminds you of the best of early Metallica or Testament. They don't allow for being put in a box or genre, but dip their toes in all of them. I don't think you'll be disappointed in their discography. I recommend live since their albums tend to be a bit over produced for my taste, but live they don't have many peers. Their latest album is faster, harder and their best to date and was released in February.
We will definitely be doing more Lovebites!!
@Fulton Benjamin Yes, indeed.
You're in for a fun ride with this group! 🔥🎸
Asami(Vo)
Miyako(G - Key ‐ Piano Black hair)
Midori(G)
Haruna(Dr)
Miho(Ba) First Bassist (Bassist of this song)
New bassist from 'JUDGEMENT DAY' songs.
Fami(Ba) New Bassist
Led Zeppelin may have their Stairway to Heaven, but Lovebites have their Swan Song. 😊❤😊
Miyako ( Pianist/Guitarist ) is also the main composer of their songs.
Good job. Yes, Lovebites is truly a great band and also my favorite band in the world today.
The power, accuracy and rhythm of Miho's bass performance are too amazing.
Here for my daily Lovebites fix 🐺
Bloody Lovebites 🐺 I love'em
There’s a video when she’s playing keyboards one hand guitar the other.
the answer to the first question is yes. the greatest female band of all time. there are others but LOVEBITES are the mt. rushmore of girl groups.if you continue with them you will find nothing but epic songs.
Music Japan are the best ever in the world!!🇯🇵💪🔥♥️🔥♥️
#LovebitesForever #BABYMETALForever #MusicJapanForever
Great yeah, but "greatest" would be a subjective thing, as fans that lean toward rock over metal would probably reserve the label for Band-Maid (yeah, female musicians from Japan are just killing it).
They wear white because they are petite ladies. White will reflect the light making them more easily seen on the dark metal stage that are the norm.
BabyMetal are an idol group. Lovebites are a heavy metal group. Major difference. Lovebites write their own songs (mostly) and have creative control and not idol contracts.
Yes - even calling Baby Metal a "band" is stretching the definition of that word to breaking point.
Exactly
Yeah, BabyMetal kinda defies categorization, and calling it a "band" feels wrong. I think of it more as a type of Broadway/Stage musical act, and an awesome one at that.
Agree
I will classify BabyMetal as a performing troupe like Cirque du Soleil as opposed to a band per se, and I meant that as a compliment. They are unique. Even though their music will not make my playlist, I will still love to see them LIVE one of these days because they are amazing performers.
Yeah........WOW. Miyako is my favorite musician now, ever. A classically trained pianist who picked up a guitar in her late teens. Has composed around half of Lovebites catalog. Name me a band with a better collection of talent across the board today and yesterday.
I was just passing by and saw the thumbnail and title. I'll be back to watch the reaction later, but I will answer the burning question posed - they are 100% absolutely the greatest all-female band ever, and for me personally, simply the greatest band of all time, sweaty metal dudes included.
its funny how can no reaction channel pronounce Chopin. They never heard of Fredric Chopin? anyway great reaction though. such an amazing band
Actually Miyako has three or more solos, the chopin intro, the one in the guitar, piano mixed with guitar and the end of the song
I think it's high time to forget about that "all-girl" or "all-female" stuff - for me, when saying that, it's like saying they're in a different league, or even worse "second league "! No. They're one of the best metal bands nowadays, that's all.
Correction on pronunciation It"s not a Choppin intro it is pronounced Sho-Pan
Thank you!
You have 60 songs ahead of you and it will be a well worth trip down this rabbit hole. Lovebites play power/thrash/classic Metal.
For a different side by them try with their most recent MV “Stand and Deliver (Shoot ‘em down)” m.ruclips.net/video/4ImGA7cPyrs/видео.html
🐺🤘🏻
Together with Nightwish they are the best metal band for me! All members are unbelievable talented! Check out their new album Judgement Day!
They aren't just the greatest all-female heavy metal band, but they have the best female guitar duo🤘 Midori The Crazy Shredder & Miyako The Golden Touch 🔥
My Lovebites 🏴 🐺 🤘 Lady Miyako....be still my beating heart
Hi.
Not just female band. One of the best ever.
Yeah !!!👍😎Thanks and cheers from Poland 🍺🍺🍺🤘🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🤘
Best song🤘🐺🔥
Nice reaction!!!!! I'd like to suggest M/V for "When Destinies Align". Totally face melting!!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much!
since 5 days. i have my 4 days pass for HELLFEST in france 27/30 of june. Lovebites will be there and i'm so happy because all 4 days are sold out now
🙏Welcome 2 the Wolfpack 🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🤟❣
🤘❤️☠️🔥SGBC!!!
Miyako, is one of the best musicians out there. Everyone in Lovebites is an incredibly good musician. They are so talented.
Masterpiece. Best band on the planet.
welcome to the wolfpack like your slayer shirt. next try break the wall live version. it has a slayer vibe to it. nice reaction and enjoy the ride. best metal band in the world right now. have a great day!!!!!
Chopin is pronounced "Show-pan"
Oh, Miyako can also play the piano and guitar AT THE SAME TIME.
I see Nightwish T shirt.
Assume you like Symphonic Metal.
So you should check out Versailles Aristocrats Symphony live Holy Grail.
Not so fast, lol, here's Japan's "premier" female Rock band. The bad girls of Japanese Rock. Absolutely stunning.
NEMOPHILA= 5-piece all-female SuperGroup. Hard/Heavy. World-class drum/bass duo; Twin shredders; True front person (clean/scream).
⭐【Raitei】MV ruclips.net/video/lh-dVLKP314/видео.html
⭐【Revive】MV ruclips.net/video/zmRmVc4u18w/видео.html
⭐【Rise】MV ruclips.net/video/rD3VMAm-9iA/видео.html
Lol Nemophila are nowhere near Lovebites in terms of skill.
@@cepho8349 👈🏻LMFAO!!! Nice try, but a big fail, little troll.
Women aren't dominating Japanese music.
Now piano is scaled perfectly at the end
Next check out Nemophila another great metal band from Japan
s
Miyako has been playing the piano since she was 3 years old.
lol at "chop-in".
